  1. Thanks Tom. I figured that there had to be a way Riv owners were getting them. I'll keep an eye out. PM sent.
  2. I agree that the metal dash is much nicer then the 65's.
  3. Hello, I finally have the car pretty much stripped to metal so far. Im trying to figure out what needs to be sent to the chrome shop. My remote drivers side mirror is in rough shape. Any way to disconnect the cables running to the mirror? Im guessing that I have to break the glass to get to it but just want to make sure. I've looked for a new one but so far no luck. Here's a pic from a couple of weeks ago. I wish the drivers side was in as good shape as the passanger side!
  4. Just scuff, primer, paint. I used automotive paint and clear.
  5. I bought aircraft style belts and they came with the mounting hardware. Just pick where you want them and install. Just be sure to stay away from fuel lines, etc.
  6. I wouldn't buy a 60's car when you really want a 50's car. Most of us spend quite a bit on our cars and have to deal with mechanical issues because the cars are so old. That's alot easier to do when it's your dream car then something you bought instead. Good luck!
  7. I build the car that Im going to enjoy. Considering the cost of body work, customs can be VERY expensive. Customs easy?!? Wow, not even close.
  8. What Brian said... Id take the Jetback over the other two if it was for me. If im buying to sell then I'd go with the 2door.
  9. Hmmm, I didn't know the 57 came with a clutch fan. I may have to get one for my special.
  10. This is funny! I just did this last summer and it did seem way more complicated then it needed to be. But I do remember the little springs and stuff popping out!
  11. I get my tires from coker and they're the bfg whitewalls. I like them. I've never used the whitewall paint but know someone who has and he was unhappy with the outcome. Maybe he just applied it incorrectly? Ive seen plenty of tires that have been ground to get a whitewall. Looks good from 5ft away but you can see the grind marks when you get close. Not a big deal if your not picky and can save you some $. I like to drive my car everywhere so I'm not comfortable taking shortcuts on some things. Nothing like getting a flat in the middle of nowhere from some used tires. Guess it depends on what's acceptable to you.
  12. I agree with most of this except I actually like the dash. I grew up in a 66 and later that car was my first car. Maybe Im a little biased about the 66. Inside and out its one of my favorites. Especially with the console and buckets.
  13. Hello, Anyone have some information on this lighter? Im wondering how old it is. I picked it up a few weeks ago and was hoping someone here had seen one before.
  14. 65 and 66 are tops for me. Great styling and the Nailhead!
  15. Which harness did you get and how do you like it? I didn't think anyone made one for a 57 Buick. So, I'm assuming it's a basic unit.
  16. Thanks but I already have the moldings. Does look like a nice project with some of the cool options.
  17. I thought you were the one selling this stuff.Oh and please don't pm or call me.
  18. Ed, What a cool site! Thanks for the link. I'll be playing with colors for the next couple of hours...
  19. That Duesenberg is CRAZY! Great story behind it. Suicide doors look great on the 60's cars (Lincolns).
  20. Sounds like its SMS then. Thanks for the recommendations guys. Im going to be painting the car next year so Im just planning ahead. Don't want to paint then drill holes for the moldings. Always tough picking color combo's. I keep changing them.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I do have the moldings. Just have to spend some time getting them on correctly.
  22. Personally, I think she's ugly either way.
