  1. I think it is around a 1930 La-Sal. Dandy Dave! La Salle 1930 specifications
  2. Anyone know if this is correct for a 1982 Riv Convertible? The one on the right is the one that came off of my car but is Broken. The one on the left is the replacement that was sent with a replacment glovebox insert but it will not "bolt up" to the dash and it hangs down too far anyway. All the other parts are the same. glove box insert, light and switch, trunk release button, door latch, door strap. Also, does anyone have a good replacement, or know where I can get whatever is correct? Thanks, Dandy Dave!
  3. Yes, Welcome Aboard Matey. Mr. Earl is our resident 54 Buick expert. He has been at the BCA National meet. Go to the BCA forum on this page and post something about the 54 and you will get his attention. Or maybe you have already been there according to your story. He is a great guy, but will not hesitate to sell you a whole car one piece at a time. Dandy Dave!
  4. Even thought I could not make it myself, I am glad that everyone who did had a grand time. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made it possible. I plan to be in Mass next year because it is fairly close to home. Now, should I bring the 15, or the Riviera? If I bring the 15, the oganizer of the pre war tour better keep in under 35 miles an hour. If that is not possible then I will bring the Riviera. Dandy Dave!
  5. Definetly Model A as the others have said. TT rear ect. Ruff and Ready.... Dandy Dave!
  6. I'm not sure what it is from either, but is definitly too good to just scrap. Someone will want it. I can tell you that It is not 1915 Buick, or I would be banging on your door. Dandy Dave!
  7. LOL.... When I was in Flint several years ago everyone clapped and cheered for me when I was intoduced... my Public awaited me and I was caught off gard. I didn't know everyone thought I was so cool on line either. Next time I make it to the National, I'll be ready. .... Dandy Dave!
  8. If I were you I would keep it for the time being. The problem right now I see is that it is a 20 something year old car. Wait until it is a 30 something year old car, or 40 something year old car, and if the economy is better, then you may get a better price. I just bought one from Florida for $3600 or I would be after yours. Mine has more miles and needs some TLC, but it drives like a Dream on a Cloud. I have already did some some stuff to it, and have more stuff on the way to make it even better. The best part is that it is a rust free car. The mechcanics are not a problem for me, but I hate patching rust. So the 1982 Riv I just purchased has found the right home to bring it back to it's former glory. Dandy Dave!
  9. Thanks for posting Pete. That yellowish rag top looks tempting. I won't be there either or I would be all over it. Dandy Dave!
  10. If someone has the room, and a good place to anchor it, a lift is the way to go. I find that if you are not worried about a few dents and scratches. Rolling it over with a backhoe is second best. LOL... Dandy Dave!
  11. Hershey is the kind of show that you have to go to at least once in your life if you are a car guy. Go for the whole adventure and take a good comfortable pair of walking shoes, because you will never walk that many miles though the flea market area at a show ever again. Dandy Dave!
  12. In a year or two we should be able to by a "rear end wreck" and build one JD... Dandy Dave!
  13. Welcome Aboard Matey! How about a photo of the wheels and brake drums/ backing plates also. Dandy Dave!
  14. It looks like a bracket the would hold the shaves to a horse drawn buggy, or slea. Dandy Dave!
  15. It must have been a hot and dusty dry day with the canteen hung on the car. Dandy Dave!
  16. Thanks for the update Frank. Maybe Fred had it buried so deep in that garage that he thought it was gone. . Poor old Fred. God rest his soul. Dandy Dave!
  17. It also could be a faulty ignition switch, or wire. Fair connection when it is cold, bad connection when it heats up. Dandy Dave!
  18. Wwwwooooooohhhhoooo, There is wedding bells in the future. Congrats all. This will be a, "line up the Buicks" wedding I presume. Dandy Dave!
  19. Dang Dawg... always fartin -N- smelling up the place..... .... If it ain't the dirty ol Dawg stinkin the place up, then get under and start replacing where she drips. You will be glad when you are done. Dandy Dave!
  20. The price of some proper steel jack stands is well worth the insurance. Blocks can be eaten by termites if they have been sitting for years. Sometimes they can swell with mosture getting them out of square, even through concrete. I've got one kicking aroud here somewhere that is curved on one side making it unstable and you know that when it went though the sawmill it was square. You are one lucky feller to get out alive. I never block an automobile with blocks, especially if I have to climb under it. And Never, Ever, EVER use Concrete Blocks. They can crumble in an instant. Dandy Dave!
  21. Finally, A flipper for a mans BBQ..... .... sur nuf. Yes Susan, It is a buggie, or slea step for real. I've dug a few out of the dirt myself in years past. Dandy Dave!
  22. I went though a 272, which is very similer to the 292, a number of years ago that I got out of a 1958-59 Ford dump truck. When I pulled the heads, I was glad that I did not try to turn it over with the starter first as one of the valve heads was laying on top of a piston. Must have poped off while it was sitting at there was no dammage to the piston, head or cylinder. I did a valve job on it and put it in my 1962 ford F-250. Runs Great and still plows a little yard snow from time to time. If memory serves me right, there is one head bolt on each side that carries oil up to the rockers. Make sure you put it back in the right hole. Dandy Dave!
  23. There was a 1922 Reo that was stolen from a fellow collector's garage 30 some odd years ago that was originally a T-6 Tourer as I remember. It was converted to a roadster as the rear half was home built and it looked it. Painted red it was. It ran quite well though as he drove it often. Poor fellow is now deceased for many years and his car has never surfaced. Always wondered about that car. He lived near Hudson NY and was a WWII Veteren. He had a slide show of photos that he shared at a local club meeting one night of his experiences of being a Glider Pilot on D-Day. His Name was Fred Soul. He was the road salesman for our local NAPA for many years. The things that jog your memory... Dandy Dave!
  24. Cool, Looks like I know my Farmalls from the John Deeres.... LOL Dandy Dave!
  25. Say Thriller, post us a photo of that, will ya? ..... Dandy Dave!
