  1. I have a question about the way the engine looks. In my blue '89, the top of the engine has "3800" engraved in the gray area. The claret '89 I bought recently does not have the "3800" engraved in it, it's just gray. I assume the engine in this car was replaced. Now I was just looking at the Reatta's on eBay and I see a '90 Maui click here and it's engine (last photo) does not have the 3800 engraved in it..... My question is - did all years have the 3800 engraved on top of the engine, or just the '88 and '89?
  2. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I saw a lot of unauthorized golf carts this year--the "approved" ones always have the AACA sticker on the front. Would hate to see Hershey become like the Auburn swap meet, where there are golf carts willy-nilly, and the walking flea market patron is in danger of being run over. </div></div> I agree wholeheartedly with this comment!! Auburn was horrible with all the golf carts - they had no consideration for anyone. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> I felt really bad for the vendors in the show car area because frankly, I had no idea they were even there until we walked over for the car show! When I talked to the ladies at the AACA Apple Juice booth, they said all week you could count the people that walked by, there were so few.... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
  3. See attached - this one blew us away - is this reasonable???
  4. It definitely could have used one, and should be considered, if possible, for next year.....
  5. Hello All, Just wanted to let you know that this thread convinced me to become an AACA member - I joined at Hershey on Thursday. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Although it's not in my signature line, we have a few older cars - a '39 Buick, a '41 Packard and a couple of '40 Chevs. Coincidently, one of the '40 Chevrolets is a sedan delivery which has been rear bumper-less since purchased - until we found an original one in excellent shape an hour into our first day at Hershey! What a GREAT find! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  6. We thought the prices were just ludicrous - perhaps Barrett-Jackson did make some think they had "valuable" vehicles... and when did Austin Healey's become so high priced?? We saw a couple in $70K to $90K range! We thought the prices in the car corral last year were high as well. What the sellers probably don't think about is the fact that folks at Hershey are far more well-versed in car prices than the average Joe off the street, and they aren't going to overpay.
  7. Thanks for the Cincy warning Mike - now I know who NOT to call when I need glass repairs - would this be the only Safelite in Cincinnati? If there are several I will need to know who to steer clear of....
  8. 1950 Packard Four Door Sedan-B - went for $700. Results for all cars are now posted on www.kruse.com
  9. Just glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound from Iraq! Enjoy the Reatta!
  10. As a gal formerly from Raleigh, NC myself (Hence the NCGirl portion of my userid) you guys are starting to creep me out just a little bit......
  11. Yeah..Oct 17th, 2006 is a Tuesday.....
  12. It helps if you search using "quote marks" around the search criteria - for example, search "car cover" in quotes instead of car cover - the search function will then look specifically for the group of words either in the heading or the body of the posts, depending on what you selected... Hope this helps.....
  13. Wow - the pictures are just lovely! I'm with Rawja though - my car would have looked scruffy compared to all the nice, clean, low mile, freshly waxed vehicles! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
  14. Kruse has not posted their results yet. Nice photos K8096 - imagine my shock when I opened the last 'bathtub' photo and saw my sweetie in the picture!! Or, as he said 'that handsome hunk of stud meat'!
  15. <span style="font-weight: bold"> CONGRATULATIONS !!!</span> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I'M VERY HAPPY FOR YOU! Sounds like you got yourself quite a car there!
  16. My blue Reatta was originally from CA but I haven't done anything to the exhaust on it. If I'm not mistaken, CA has (or had) special "smog" requirements so their exhausts were different. I know that when I was shopping for an exhaust for my 450SL they had different prices for CA parts (notated as "federal" or "California")..... There are a few folks on this board from CA so they could probably speak to this as well.
  17. There are a handful of ladies on this forum, but we are far outnumbered........ I don't know if it's possible to verify # of female owners to male owners, but I DO know that every time I pass a Reatta on the road, it always has a male driver. What's with that? But also, oddly enough, 2 of the Reattas we have were purchased from females. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  18. How exciting! Best of luck with the auction! It sounds like it IS a Select 60 vehicle. Betcha that once you get the car home you won't be able to keep your husband out of it!
  19. I think that's what I'll have to end up doing. I was hoping for an easier alternative! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
  20. Hi All, There are a few spots on the claret car that will need some touching up (as you may be catching onto, this particular vehicle is turning into quite the project...). All the automotive stores have the little bottles of touch up paint but of course, none of them say "claret". Does anyone know what paint/paint number to use to match? I realize there will be a slight difference due to paint fade, but that really can't be helped..... Thanks!!
  21. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I was looking at the oil pressure in my 89 today while idling in park outside my home. The pressure fluctuated wildly from a low of 54 to a high of 83 in a matter of a minute or less. At the 83 mark the digital gauge went to the very. It did not stay at any one pressure level for more than a second before it was registering a new number. Do I have a problem brewing? </div></div> I am having this problem with my claret '89 but the fluctuation happens while I'm driving as well as idling. I want to verify that the oil pressure sensor would be the most likely culprit. I had to replace the same part on my other '89 (the blue one) but at that time I was getting an error that told me what the problem was.... I'm not getting that error this time, plus the "electrical problem" light isn't coming on like it did with the blue car.... Could it be another item that's failing? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for all your continuing help!!
  22. Hi All, Ever have one of those days where you're just too tired to use the "Search" function? I'm having one of those..... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> On the '89 I just bought, the CRT works sporadically - turn the car on, it's on, turn the car on the next time, it's out, and the dash has "electrical problem".... What's the fix?? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks again!!
  23. Actually, the tires rotate when I'm in park - When I'm in Park, I can push the car.
