1. John, If you mean Iraq/Afghanistan/Wherever, the military already denied me, because of my eye-site, and my asthma. They won't even give me a desk job, near the area, because I have to pass basic, to get there, and I won't pass basic, in my lifetime. If you mean down in Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, etcetera, I have no reason to shoot people who are upset with their circumstance. If you mean Cuba, because that quote came from the SpanAm War, I don't think there's any need, for anybody, to go there again. There wasn't a need to go there, in the first place. Yours Aye, Bill
2. Yes Dennis, all Scots alco-mo-hol, is good. I'm Scots, I know. I don't know that I'm passionate, and caring, but for our military personnel. Others don't care about me, so why should I care about them? Since my relatives, have fought in every war, that this country has been in, I understand, and I am passionate and caring, about our military men, and now, women. Certain life experiences, make you cold, to feeling, but war always brings emotion to me, regardless of my coldness.
3. EDBSO: I think that I understand the connection, between the "gun violence", and this thread, now. It's a $1,000,000,000, difference. Dennis Rodgers: Good for them, now they'll have to pay more, for what would have cost them less. I've heard of these situations before, even up here. F14: I'm having to agree, because of this. It usually takes a number of fatal accidents at an intersection, and lawsuits against the local, county, or state government, to cause said governement(s), to put in a traffic light, or a green turning arrow. Chazzman:

Quote:

A big howdy from the shores of beautiful Lake Martin -- ex-owner of a totalled 90 maroon convertible with a white top. What a beaut! And what a shame to lose a 118K miles/one owner/well-maintained/excellent condition collector's item

That blows, hardcore! Rawja: Well you've come up with some more interesting facts... by the way, that Davis-Bacon Act, removal thingy, is totally jacked up. I guess they're trying to cut the final costs of reconstruction?
4. Not sure, but I know, that it's TOO much, RattaBoy!
5. SpongeBob: I've heard of brand new clickers, working perfectly, with the old system.
6. If that last statement, about them waiting for the welfare checks, is true, then it proves my postscript, in the last message. People are entirely too ignorant, in this country.
7. Well, another two things... 1) EDBSO: If we destroy all the guns, what will we do about the people who have illegal guns, that are illegally imported. I don't hunt, because there is no point, for me, to kill a defenseless animal. I don't carry, for the purpose of having a gun. I carry, because it is necessary. I stopped an armed robbery in Virginia, with my personal protection piece. If I didn't have it, 6 people might be dead, right now, and that includes myself. Now, hypothetically, if we had no firearms, how would we protect ourselves from dangerous animals, like a raging bear? Would we just poke him with a stick, and hope he went away? Would we fill him, like a pin cushion, with arrows, or bolts, and hope he doesn't become more enraged, and tear us to shreds? Would we hope that the police... who, by the way, have no legal responsibility, to protect any United States citizen... would get there in, say, 10 seconds, to help us out? Any law enforcement officer, would agree, that it is a crime, for some of our State Governments, to make it nearly impossible, for the everyday average citizen, to get a carry permit. Destroying all the guns, is not the answer, in my opinion. Making sure that we will have no need for them, is the answer. With less violent crime, there will not be a need, for the everyday average citizen, to carry. This, of course, is something that would happen in a perfect world, which ours, is not. By the way, firearms training courses, are a good idea, and should be instituted in all States, as something you must complete, to get your permit. There are many incompetent people out there, carrying concealed, that are not properly trained, for carry. This is my not-so-humble opinion. By the way, Japan, being a mostly peaceable nation... were those crimes, committed by Yakuza? And if so, would an armed, and competent citizen, have been able to prevent the deaths? Padgett: We already know, that the insurance companies, will not pay a "red cent", to anyone. They'll find some clause, that'll let them get away with their worthless green paper, and computerized credit. PS: I believe the difference in handgun related deaths, between Canada, and the United States, is a difference, in the ideals, of the people. Let's just face that "facts", that people here, are more angry, and more ignorant.
8. I have a suggestion... Calling all, or the, Forum Administrator, to make some sort of online petition, from all of us here at the Reatta Forum. The petiton, would be in place, for two weeks. Everyone will have a chance to sign it. We'll petition Buick, and specifically GM, to re-manufacture the OEM pads. I have an in, at Buick, that may help. If we can get enough people to sign, we may have it made. They may make them expensive, but consider that if the rattle bothers you, you may be willing to pay. If I'm sent the petiton, after the closing of the thread, I'll send it, along with what information, I deem necessary, to Buick, and GM. All of that legalese stuff, to make it sound convincing.
9. Links, Links, Links... Hank: You're right, in my not-so-humble opinion. Luftweg: I have no idea, why the Red Cross, is ignoring you, nor do I care to speculate... but that is jacked up... Rawja: Apparently, the Governor of Louisiana, did her job. So the "blame", now moves up the ladder. In fact, she did so, in an extremely professional, and competent, fashion. Thanks for the factual information, because they hardly ever tell you about this stuff, in the newspapers, up here... or even on TV for those who don't read. If they did, I most likely missed it. 88ReattaJohn: I agree completely, and although, Rudy Giuliani, may not be the nicest guy, he knows how to get things done, when they need to be gotten done. I didn't like him, at first, but I understand him, now... after 9/11/2001. I was there, I saw... I still have nightmares... EDBSO: I agree, and 25,000 body bags, is not cool. ALF1: That's just (bleeped) up! At least Newsweek, is getting a little less liberal, and straying towards the middle-ground, where any news publication should be... in my opinion. Rawja: I remember, when I was impoverished, and I understand how these people feel, how they're treated, and also, how nearly impossible it is, to get back on one's feet, unless someone helps.
10. Ahhh, tired here... but lem'me speak on 'dis. As you all may or may not know, FEMA cannot get involved in a "disaster area" until the particular state, in which it happened, gives FEMA, permission to do so. It's the age-old, states rights versus federal rights, discussion. Unfortunately, they could not become legally involved, until the Governers of those particular states, gave them the okay, to do so. I'm not implicating the state or federal goverments, in gross negligence, because quite frankly, we all know how slow, any government acts, on anything. Whether it be municiple, county, state, or federal. But, in any event, as has been said, let us put aside blame, until a later date, when we can fully realize, who is responsible, for any gross negligence. As for rising gas prices, as had been discussed, in earlier threads: Tri-State News, Tuesday, September 6, 2005 Governers Ask for Oil Profiteering Prevention Apparently, the Governers, of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Michigan, and Wisconsin, have asked President Bush, "to make sure that oil companies are not profiting, at the expense of Americans, during the devastating crisis, that has struck the Gulf region, and is further increasing oil prices." Rendell, Pennsylvania's Governer, "has outlined a second set of emergency actions that [this] commonwealth is taking, to protect consumers, conserve fuel, and assist victims of the hurricane, in [specifically] Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama." The joint letter, to Bush, has asked the president, to "move swiftly to cap corporate oil profits and strictly prosecute any violation of federal anti-trust laws, and take all possible actions to protect Americans against profiteering." Just so that you all know, Exxon-Mobile's profits increased 32 percent to 7.64 billion dollars, from April-June. Royal Dutch Shell, a 34 percent increase, in second-quarter profits, alone. If I'm not mistaken, and I may be, isn't a 7 percent profit, a year, the normal profit that most companies make? The Sunoco station, near me, is being investigated for price gouging, and I know the reason why. I happen to know for a fact, that the station has three tanks. 94 Octane, Diesel, and 87 Octane. Under this premise, people, for years, have been paying for 89 or 93, and getting 87. Sound familiar? If not, maybe you should check your local gas station, or ask around, to people, who are "in the know", about these things. Two Atlantic City, NJ stations are being cited, for price gouging. A Getty and a Lukeoil station, have been cited as the culprits. Both on Route 30, in Atlantic City. They had commited the same crime, as the station, by me. Selling 89 and 93, for the posted price, when the consumer was getting 87. I wondered why I was getting crappy gas mileage, from the gas, that I purchased at that station. Even the 94, isn't up to par... it's probably 87, as well.
11. Regarding Allante: Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha! Somebody is trying to sell a DEAD one, around here. I can't remember where I saw it, could've been Jersey... I just remember that it looked like it had been "through the war of 1812 and back".
12. Somebody will be around, to leave info, for you. Just not tonight, most likely. I live in the North-east, so I won't be of any help.
13. Not to put a damper on things, F14, but that motor has had it notorieties. Now, anyone who takes care of their motor, knows, that it won't die. But that Cadillac V8, will die, if not taken care of, like it was your own child. The Cadillacs that they came in, died long before the motor did, anyhow. Just giving you a heads-up, on what I've experienced, as well as a few other select individuals. The Allante only survives, because it was a sound design.
14. And that's a (bleeping) tragedy, more than the hurricane is!
15. I love that picture!
16. Manik, I just did it... Monster Garage Forums, including the suggestion sub-forum... We shall see, what transpires...
17. I like GN, and T-Types. They're sick cars, and they'll defeat almost any stock eight, with some help from some aftermarket parts. Even stock, they're a real (bleep), to launch past. In fact, the dude that I saw at Batavia, had a nice T-Type, and I was drooling over the GN in the parking lot. The T-Type guy, told me that his friend has a 9 second GN or T-Type. I can't remember which one. But in any event, he deserves a free, "You've just been SPANKED... by a Buick!", bumpersticker.
18. Yeah, but I wouldn't put the Iron Cross, on it, nor would it look like the Baron's plane.
19. I'm going to take a large turbine engine, and build a Reatta body around the exterior of the turbine. It'll look weird, but I won't have a problem beating anybody, on the road. If I add retractable wings, I might even be able to catch some air. In fact, if I add a Gatling gun, I might even get a Military contract!
20. I guarantee, I can't attract a person of the opposite sex, even in a convertible Reatta. It's just me, I'm cursed... and many women are superficial, about the way men look, in America. If I was taking Human Growth Hormone, and some Dianabol, and Winstrol. If I spoke in Psuedo-Fonzarelli garbage. If I drove a 3-series BMW coupe or convertible. If I busted thumbs and drilled knee-caps, in my spare time... I might attract a woman... but I'd have to show her my fat wallet, as well. Also, I'd have to claim heritage from Sicily, to gain extra points. Unfortunately, I can only claim some heritage from Northern Italy, as in, I'm not a Moor, who think's he's Italian. I'm a German, who think's he's Italian. Also, I have to play Rap/R&B/Hip-Hop, to attract any attention, from the girls in the Tri-State area. It must be the tribal beats, that make them hot-and-bothered.
21. I still feel bad for the police officer, who has to waste his day, sitting at a construction zone. They all look so bored... and pissed. That's probably the reason for the step-up in law enforcement, in those areas. Most states have that "only when workers are present" rule. Some states just slow down all traffic, regardless of the work present. We all hate police officers, in some way, shape, or form. If only because, one or three, have really made our lives miserable. I'm one myself, and even I, have my biased opinions. It's just because, they hire some flying (bleeps), upon occasion. That's because someone's cousin's, brother's, uncle's, son, needs a job. I believe it's called Nepotism... Nepotism: Noun; Favoritism shown to relatives or close friends, by those in power (as by giving them jobs) They're not, necessarily, an asset for the "job", nor do they, necessarily, have the skills necessary, to complete their everyday work, in a competent manner. Social Skills are on the test, but I wonder how many people have really passed that section. It always helps to have a good reference, but when those references, get physically involved in the hiring process... that's when you have the situation that we deal with, today.
