  1. Nah, PA is a Commonwealth, and requires things to run properly. At least when you do it legally. If I were to grease some dude's palms, I could probably get away with it. But I don't do those things, so... Actually, the fog lights work as a sort of retarded redundancy light system.
  2. Vincent, I know the problem lies with the rollers, because the motors work intermittently. I bought the replacement parts from Barney I think. My mechanic says the nylon gears inside of the motor are shot. So his GM dealership link says that you "have" to replace the motor. So he quotes $245.00 for each motor. I know that GM Parts Direct sells them for $150.00 a piece. They're genuine GM parts, too. Agh, I'm just angry that I'm being forced to be extorted, 'cause the car must pass inspection by a certain date. Ugh... oh well... I'm still going to send a letter to GM about this, regardless, not that they'll do anything about it, or even care. But at least I will have made my point. I throw my hands up at this point, because there's nothing that I can do about it on my slave wage. Bill
  3. I have to gripe about this: I was just informed that I was charged $245.00 for replacement motors, for my 1990 Reatta headlights. That's $245.00 a piece, for grand total of nearly $500.00. I know that these parts are sold at $150.00 a piece, but my car needs to be inspected immediately, and the dealer won't budge. They say the computer told them the parts are $245.00 a piece, so that's what they have to charge. I've just been extorted out of $200.00! I'm really pissed off! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> What gives?
  4. Rawja, Speaking seriously, for once in my life... My Reatta sits around, most of the time, because I don't have the time or money to make it a road-worthy daily driver... but... I'd like to know that my brakes <span style="font-style: italic">probably</span> won't fail, if I keep them properly maintained. The maintenance isn't the big problem. Either myself, or a properly trained GM Goodwrench Buick dealership, will deal with that. The question that I raise, is <span style="font-style: italic">what</span> should be checked, to make sure that all of the system resources are working properly? Thank you, in advance, for whatever knowledge that you can impart. Yours Aye, Bill Wade
  5. Perhaps your name is also Vincent Vega, and you chose to use Johnny, to display that similarity?
  6. I'm somewhat back, and I have no more socks to put in it. Unless you have a few, that I could borrow... Anyway, beyond Matty's trolling comment, I tried to get my father to pick up an Aurora, but he chose to waste the money on a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria... too bad...
  7. Bleh, shady forum errors... shady, indeed... Anyway, I'm too tired to write this message again... so... Yeah, it sucks that Mario sold out, and went with a '96 Rustang. Good luck with that Reatta project, and make sure you make him shed tears, over the loss of his premium automobile.
  8. Actually, is was dark chocolate-covered marzipan, that I bought for $20.00, thanks to our wonderful tariff laws. But it was good, and the chocolately fatness made me gain 200 more calories, than I already had. In fact, it was sinfully good... because marzipan always is... if you get the good stuff. But yeah, it's full of sugar, as well... hence the crazed ravings. Beyond all of that, the hypothesis still holds merit. You know, about Buick's being bettah. Remember: "When bettah automobiles are built, Buick will build them..."
  9. F14, are you looking to whoop the behind of some Camaro or Firebird reject at your school... again? Didn't Mario do this already, with his TPI? Well, when the swap is finished, make sure that you give me all the details on the bum-whooping that those guys got!

F14, Oh GMtuners, would like to fix that, for me... but I'm not sure, that I need to race my car. Manik, Excessive glee? Perfect weather? Where have you been? I want to go! The north-east has been jacked for like a week now... And throw some of that glee, my way!

Since I'm inquiring into other "chips" for my vehicle, I would like to know, so I don't pay for something that I don't need.

  13. I almost forgot to delete my controversial posting... so I'll do that after this is done. Before I leave the forum, I thought I'd leave this. For those of you, who know, you will understand... <span style="font-style: italic">John Patrick O'Neill 1952-2001</span>
  14. Nah, it's not about the politics, it's more about the fact, that it's okay for anybody else to have an opinion, but when I voice mine, it becomes the center of an all-out attack, because I must be an ignorant (bleep), who knows nothing about anything. Everyone else, has a better answer or position. Beyond the political bullshiznit, it more about the meaning of the First Amendment. It's about the fact, that Americans seem to think that they, personally, are more intelligent, then the next guy, and that they have the right answer... nobody else does. It's American arrogance. I don't agree with the middle-east's Jihadist approach to our shaded Imperialism, but I understand the reasons why... Take that as you wish, but just realize, that I am a Civil War Reenactor, my family members have participated in every conflict that this nation has been involved in, some have been involved in some of the most important events in this nations's history. I'm proud of my heritage, but I'm not proud of what this country has become, in the last 60 years. I don't agree with some of the countries, in the European Union, belittling our nation, but I do understand the reasons why... I'm not a happy citizen, and to tell you the truth, if I had the funds, to set up shop in another nation of my choosing, I would do so. This is <span style="font-style: italic">not</span> the "Greatest Nation In The World", and it hasn't been, since the end of WWII. I was born too late... There are many things, that need to be addressed, and repaired, before this nation will be anywhere near, the caliper it was, just after the Great Depression. I can trace my heritage, on just one side of my family, back to Nomenoe, "King" of Brittany. My ancestors, fought in all four major Crusades. They were instumental in the establishement of this nation, as well. I'm proud of my heritage, but my citizenship to this country, at this time, disgraces that heritage. You can all say what you want. You can belittle me, you can jeer at me, you can engage in figurative stoning. But in the end, you all know what I'm talking about, and it dismays even you. You can call me anti-American, you can call me a terrorist, you can call me a left or right wing nut. You can label me, with any number of names. But in the end, I have disassociated myself with all groups and positions, because I understand that each side has it's valid points. What each side doesn't understand, is exactly that. We all have valid points. The measure of a man, is not his ability to follow one side, but to lead. Hopefully, someday, someone will lead this nation, to a better place. But it won't be in my lifetime, and it won't be in my unborn child's lifetime. To close, it's not the nation itself, but the people in it, who have turned it rotten to the core. Until there is a large-scale realization, of the effects of ignorance... not stupidity, but ignorance... on the functionality of our Establishment, we are headed for an inevitable fall. I'm really not enjoying, having to fix my spelling and grammatical errors, every five minutes, so if something is wrong, just leave it as it is...
  15. <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">"I will fight no more, forever..."</span></span> I am finding it necessary, for my mental stability, to retire from this Discussion Group. Considering the state of mind, that I'm currently in, I can no longer log on, to the forum, only to see comments negatively aimed at myself. I may be wrong, but I don't think I've ever singled anybody out, with any of my commentation. In fact, I don't recall, ever telling anybody, to "put a sock in it", or to "shut up", or to "be quiet". I can't recall, ever being particularly offensive, to any one person. This is a common occurance in forums, blogs, etcetera, that has caused me to disassociate myself, with a number of websites. I just can't continue to be the brunt of hypocritical critique. It may be, that I'm overly emotional, about this. It may be that I have nothing to really be upset about. I'm just not in the state of mind, right now, to be dealing with this. I'm on the verge of collapse. So it is with this, that I take my leave of this forum. I wish to thank all of you that have been helpful to me, in the past. Hopefully, in the future, I can be of some help to some of you. For the moment, I need to take a step back, and remove myself from society, for my own sake.

You know, I have the same problem on my '90...
  17. For those of you, who are interested: 1989 Buick Reatta 150,000 Miles Artic White w/ Burgundy Sunroof The car was strait. There was a small amount of body damage that occurred on the front driver's fender, where the moulding met the edge of the fender well. The owners wife can't drive, and hit the garage, while replacing the car, within. There was a dent in the lower section of the rear bumper, from a tree stump, most probably. The quarter panel has been repainted, apparently. I couldn't see it, but the owner knew. I don't know if it was putty'd or knocked out. But it was done well enough that I didn't notice it. The sunroof works, as well as the lights. The car starts with no problem and idles wonderfully. The ECM is apparently intermittent, according to the owner, but it worked for me. I shut off the radio and A/C, with it. The engine compartment it a little dirty, but can be cleaned, and attended to, with minimal effort. Two of the hubcaps, will need to be replaced. The passenger's front wheel is slighly rusted/pitted, from someone's inability to fix the brakes, before they burned it. The muffler, although emitting no sound, was putty'd, to pass inpection, around where the outlet meets the case. He's asking $6,000, and I didn't have the heart to tell him that it wasn't worth that much. I figure $4,500, top end, in mint condition. I would be willing to part with $3,500, for the car, in it's present condition. It's really all up to the buyer, but the owner was friendly, and I know the car has been for sale for two years, now. Probably because of the price tag. I have no idea, how much he's got into it, so he may be firm. He didn't seem to be firm, with me, however. Private Message me, if you're interested in the owner's information. He keeps it garaged, under a cover.
  18. I'm moving all conversation to another thread, for the interests of the people, who wish to keep the thread secure from my psuedo-political ramblings, that have nothing to do with politics, and more to do with ignorance. Psuedo-Political Rants
  19. Terror on the streets! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! It's so wrong, and yet, so funny!
  20. I don't know, I kinda like the chrome trim on my Reatta. It's not terribly gaudy.
  21. The BMW 8-series coupe, was a wicked car, although they tend to be quite expensive. I've heard that they aren't particularly great in the performance area, stock, but I've never driven one. If I were to get a BMW, because there was a gun to my future-wife's head, I'd go with the 8-series. <span style="font-style: italic">Now for more propaganda: Apparently, the U.S. Postal Office feels it's necessary to produce pro-Islamic stamps. Now I have no reason to boycott any religion, but in the wake of the bombs being found in the New York City Subway System, I would have reservations, in releasing these.
