  1. Where are you located as a local old junkyard has a couple.
  2. My dad's first and only new car,it's only still here since the dealers only wanted to give him 50 dollars for it when he was thinking of trading it in for a wagon back in 68.
  3. There used to be a few shops near me but have been slowly going away and one more upholsterer has quit the retail part of the trade and that was me,started working in a private car collection and loving every minute of it. For once I work in a air conditioned building and do not have to deal with people wanting trashed cars fixed for little money.
  4. This is going to become the four cylinder version,it's a 60s Monogram model.
  5. Been wanting to build a four cylinder version but did not have enough parts so I picked up a unbuilt 70s convertible kit but really wanted to do it as a coupe,I just received a built but falling apart 60s coupe so it's going to be rebuilt as a four cylinder using a Monogram A engine.
  6. Would I want one with a four most likely not and it probably ran better then a 41 pickup with a four. Just trying to build a model of a not so common car, might try to build a pickup with a four since I do have a unbuilt 40.
  7. I figured a cabriolet would have been a more deluxe model and would only be available with the V8 and could see a roadster with the 4 cylinder,I talked to a older guy at a show that had a 32 with a four cylinder and he liked it better then one with a V8. I am going to use the Monogram model A engine for this build.
  8. What I have is the old Monogram 34 Ford model kits that was originally made back in the early 60s,you could build it a coupe or a cabriolet and all the parts interchange up through the 90s versions. I like taking those model kits and making them into versions that were never produced like the cheaper models, until recently only the more expensive models were made and I like the base models. I can not afford the real cars so I do it in 1/25 or 2/24 scale.
  9. Just wondering if a cabriolet was available with a four cylinder, got a unbuilt model coming and have been wanting to build a four cylinder version. The kit I have coming is the convertible version but have the coupe top in my parts stash, was planning on building a coupe version but did not have all the parts to finish it but I got a decent deal on the convertible kit.
  10. I had the parts I need now,let them go when I installed the newer engine.
  11. Now that my Sunliner is getting a original type engine I will be looking for the exhaust pipes from the engine to mufflers, tried to contact Waldrons in Michigan but website said having phone issues so it just rang and no answer so is there anyone else making exhaust parts for older vehicles. I hope to salvage the rest of the exhaust and not really wanting to change it all.
  12. Ordered the adapter to put a C-4 behind the 292 and should be here by mid week, now to see if I can find exhaust pipes pre made and will see if I can salvage the exhaust it has.
  13. Doing fine and now has a dual exhaust, just found a driveshaft I can cut down so I can install a regular 3 speed while the overdrive is getting rebuilt.
  14. Been planning this since I figured out the 351 I installed in it was not built like I wanted, knowing what I know now all I would have done would have been adapting a newer trans to the original engine along with updating it with 57 parts.
  15. A couple years ago I picked up a running 55 272 but I really wanted to go larger,I do know of a 60 312 in a local junkyard but the trouble to get it out of the car would be massive so when I found out about this rebuilt 292 with about 2000 miles I had to grab it. Not going back with a original automatic trans and since my car presently has a C-4 I am going to order a adapter Monday, going to leave the 2 bbl on it for now and will be getting the 60s pcv system. When it does get changed to a 4 bbl it will then get the 57 better ratio rocker arms,it does have a T-5 adapter so if I can get the 55 2 door sedan I found reasonable the 55 272 and my T-5 could go in it. There is a 64 292 in that picture I picked up for that pcv system and a rear sump oil pan along with the truck timing chain cover as I thought about putting that 272 in a 40 Ford but that 55 should be able to be had much cheaper than a 40
  16. I remember seeing a video on this car when it was pulled from the garage it had been sitting in and the son got it running but that is the last I heard about it. I have a car my dad bought new and would never sell it even for that much money.
  17. I also have a 261 and 3 speed overdrive that would work well in a 48 to 54 Chevy truck, would get a 3/4 ton so I would not have to change the rear end.
  18. My 55 Sunliner will be getting another Y block and will have a 351 and C-4 that will need a home so I will be looking for a F 100 to drop it in,I am wanting a older truck that I can haul parts from junkyards and swap meets. I do have a 37 Chevy p/u but it's too nice to haul anything heavy in.
  19. I did find the light that was on the top but not sure if I am going to put it on.
  20. Someone at AMT got the engines mixed up,the block is a correct Y block but the heads look to be FE.
  21. Going to tinker with the F100 first, trying to think what engine to put in since the original has a correct looking Y block lower end but the heads look FE. I do have a couple more correct looking FEs that I could drop down in it. I wish a 223 six was made as I would be tempted but Mobius makes a 300.
  22. I got these today and the box is for the Barracuda I got a couple weeks ago and even has the missing front bumper. Running out of room but can not pass them up,no need to buy new kits now as I have at least 30 60s models to restore.
