  1. The only broken part was the front axle, the rest just fell apart and now on to the four cylinder version.
  2. I picked this one to use for parts on the 4 cylinder version but decided to see if I could build it using all new parts and since I am I will be reassembling this one, since this one fell apart I am going to rebuild it as a convertible since I have plenty of new convertible parts.
  3. It took a couple years and three partial kits but I am going to build a four cylinder version using mostly unused new parts,I have enough parts to build a couple more but will be using 70s and newer parts.
  4. When I build them with the 39 parts I refer them as 40 standards since it still has a 40 dash and windshield, those parts a different between those two years.
  5. Picked up two that needed some repairs.
  6. Could be a bad turn signal switch, the power from the brake light switch goes to the turn signal switch before going to the lights. Had that happen to a 65 Galaxie many years ago.
  7. One more AMT 40 and I am done for awhile, building it like on the box but looks like I need to find some parts before I can finish it. I do also need to finish repairing a couple Monogram 40 pickups then go on to something different.
  8. The black one was built without a chassis and the tires glued to the body causing some damage to the rear fenders so it got some primer spots. Might stay dirty for a barn find look.
  9. Theses were in that stash of parts I got earlier this year,I decided to leave the paint alone on the green one but can not do much to the black one since it's heavily glued together.
  10. Nothing in the shop manual, there is a vacuum diagram for the heating and a/c but nothing for the washer.
  11. Still trying to find a washer hose diagram and a picture of the correct washer for a 57.
  12. Reassembling a 57 98 convertible and now just getting to hook up the washer so I need to know where the vacuum source is taken for the washer, not sure if it was originally a J2 but is now. Could not find anything in the shop manual and want to put it back to original as I can.
  13. The part the hand crank fits in is the nut to hold the pulley on and the pulley looks to be keyed, now to get the pulley off without damaging it.
  14. We have a 37 ish flathead six in the shop to see if it can be saved,is the crank pulley pressed on or does it screw on.
  15. I remember the first GMC V12 I seen was in a junkyard in a semi, did not know they were made so I opened the hood and seen what I thought was a V6 but looked further back and seen the rest of it.
  16. Years ago I put a Sears under dash air in my 53 Olds,I took it out of a 62 Olds in a junkyard and it worked great. I did find a 60 Chevy wagon at the same junkyard that had the dealer installed air that also had a six, thinking I could use it in my 37 Chevy p/I but it was too large and got sold.
  17. Where are you located as a local old junkyard has a couple.
