  1. The thought came to me of seeing if I can get the armrest to work in the front, the local old junkyard has a 65 LTD and can get another rear armrest.
  2. What ever I can get at the department stores, that frame came painted that way and was from a 58 Edsel that came completely painted and just needed assembled. Small parts get Testors brush paints.
  3. I never checked to see if I could feel a front arm rest so does anyone know if it was optional,I am out and will have to check when I get back home but one would think if it could be had in the back one would be available for the front.
  4. It's getting a partial engine, since the hood does not open the top does not need to be complete. This 60 is getting a Y block and a 3 speed.
  5. The donor car had the extended wheelbase as my Breezeway so it must be a Parklane,I think the rear seats are different then a sedan as the backrest slides up into the package shelf area and the 66 did so I hope it works.
  6. I thought about the power windows but more work then I want to do,just getting the seats will get me into redoing the seats after I remove the cover.
  7. Do not know if it was a Parklane but was a 4 door hardtop, could not get the door panels since it had power windows and would have extra holes.
  8. When I bought my 65 Mercury I told myself I would leave it alone but that is not going to happen, since there is multiple seat springs broken in the front seat I would have to pick up another seat for parts. I found someone parting a 66 Mercury and it has a power seat so I grabbed it,while I was there I looked at the rear seat and it has a center arm rest so it came home with me too. I also took the jack and the retractable front seat belts too. It looks like the Merc is going to get upgraded seats and another project in redoing them.
  9. It's one from the collection I picked up,using a chassis from a 58 Edsel and found the stock rear bumper in the parts.
  10. I am planning on building the model to look close to what is on this 60s box, that collection I picked up had two 60s era 40 Ford sedans but they were in too bad of shape so I am going to use the 90s version that came in the collection along with some 60s parts from it. I hope I can find paint that matches.
  11. Looked over the 60 Starliner and it's worth saving but unfortunately all the 1940 Fords had too many modifications for me to rebuild along with the AMT 34 pickups. I will get a little more then a couple dozen out of this bunch and that's enough for me,will be good retirement projects.
  12. If anyone sees one they like get with me since I would like to see what I will not use go to good homes, not enough hours in a day to repair all of them.
  13. The race cars are decent and there is a early Monogram 32 Ford coupe that was built nicely.
  14. Most could be saved but I am only going to concentrate on about a dozen and use the rest for parts,I mainly got it for all the parts that came with it. As I go through it more might be considered for restoration but I would not have the patience to repair some of them.
  15. I picked up this collection and is going to take me awhile to go through and see what I have, going to keep all the Monogram and race cars along with a few others. Found two Corvairs, Riviera,Chevy II convertible and a Studebaker Lark and a couple model T tourings I will try to save. The Corvairs have the custom parts installed and I hope I find the stock parts in the batch of parts,I told myself I was not going to take on projects like this after Modelhaus closed so I must be a gluten for punishment.
  16. It would be best to leave it alone,I had to replace modern headliners after they have been cleaned.
  17. I have been running a 235 Chevy six for over 20 years with no issues, now it does have bad valve stem seals that lubricate the valves. Like others said just add MMO or possibly a little 2 cycle oil if you are worried.
  18. Had some A parts laying around so I built one in 1/24 scale, built it a couple years ago but did not like the tires and rims I used so I ordered some truck tires and rims.
  19. I would like to find hardware store decals for the blue one and maybe gas station for the black one.
  20. I am going to see if I can find some decals to put on the doors on the blue truck.
  21. After getting the turquoise one back togather all three are going to be displayed togather. The bed on the blue one will eventually get painted when I find paint that will match,it was painted in the 60s and there is a 80s version in the box waiting to be built.
