i have 6 and 1/2s in my rear speaker mounts. it wasnt too difficult of a problem just took a little problem solving. if you open the trunk and you peel back the carpeting from the right of the opening pannel or the left you should be able to see a pair of speakers(not a problem in my 88 at least). im sure you could also pop the covers off. anyways, if you switch the speaker from side to side and the same spot still crackles its a bad line, if the crackle goes to the other side its a bad speaker. good luck how old is the youngest owner? im all of 18

i like the chat a lot, its simple enough i bet even the old people can figure it out. as soon as it has a populaton it will be better

how is fiberglassing a headliner rice? it dosent come out of a box sold in magizines citing universal application. also, nice aftermarket wheels are not rice, the wheelwell gap on the reatta with the 15's is ugly. it looks bad. but it can be fixed. the borla exhaust isnt rice, no ricer is gonna put an exhaust kit that costs over 100$ on his car because they tend not to make the backfiring, a borla gives you a nice power sound not all that weedwacker sound crap believe me, i hate ricers, theyre annoying but its nice to have a quicker car and a louder stereo because it ruins their day

make a good cup holder, not a problem, wedge of wood and a universal holder speakers that rattle less, go to wal-mart and buy a pair of sony xplodes in both sizes, 5.25 and 6.5 stock i think. and get that kid with the loud stereo down the street to swap em out, 80$ max casset player, you could get mine. im taking it out for an lcd anyways coffee is nasty any ways, get new floor mats or have them cleaned.... and use your reliable cup holder. and driving a reatta is fun. speed wise i can destroy most cars streetlight to light. or i take my stereo and turn it way up and i see is i cant drive down the interstate doing 40 over. will do. it is currently being set aside untill i can find/afford a nice Lcd display for my nes/dvd player so that i can mount it into the headliner. i was origionally going to put a small one, like 5 ins, where the broken tapedeck is but..... bigger is probably better when playing video/games. im guessing 3 weeks min for the display and another 2 weeks after for the liner. what all are you looking to put in your trunk? i had ideas for a pair of 10s and 15s but i dont really have the $ to go buying everything required like new subs, good amps, alternators.... anyway, ill post when/if i get it done

is it uncommon that my 88 has no cupholder? does anyone have a pic of the one in this 91? maybe theres a way to take one from a 91 and put it onto the 88... thanks for any help

so im driving to my friends house yesterday and i realize that i am real low on gas, like i have about 20 more miles t6o go before no more going. i think, ok, no problem. so i pull into the driveway and he gets in and we go to go to the gas station to get gas and then were gonna go pick up a check from his work. so we get about to the intersection from his neighborhood and a main road and i go to hit the gas to pull on to the road. instead of going from like 1krpm to 3k uit was like 1 to 1300 and the car starts shuddering and sputters and dies. this is taking way too much effort, forget it, short story,replaced spark plugs because a car friend at autoparts store said it sounded like sparkplugs or a seal problem if the car had gas. i was out of gas because my tank still said i had some. is it hard/expensive to get the fuel level gauge corrected or fixed

what is the little plastic arch right near the compartments behind the seats for?, just one of those weird things that i was looking at and could not figure out. thanks for any responce.

what is your email? i might be interested either way, bought my current reatta with a blown engine for only 1200.... whatever, is up to you, would you post pics and stats for your baby? where abouts do you live? etc.

i could use the back compartment lids, it would be even better with the locks and a key for them, and the visors too. i am pretty much trying to slowly change my interior from tan to gray/red im working on small things.

ummm as far as i know mine dosnt have keyless entry. i have a set of keys with "GM' logos that i use, if they all had rke how could i go about having mine back that way? there were reatta specific keyrings? anyone have an extra? i think worst case one could probably buy a new system and maybe get it put into an older reatta push button thing. maybe?

i could probably part with my stock radio, if you tell me how to take it out i could do away with it, i added a cd player and just left everything stock in but dissconnected it all. hope to be any help. if anyone has a spare 16 way seat... i could go any color...

sometimes i drive my moms toyota prius hybrid and hate it, it feels like driving a bouble. also, dont take it places that people will be at because they dont get out of your way, like a grocery store, because they dont hear it. i hit a deer doing >1 mph because i came up behind it and the deer didn't hear the car.

what are you colour schemes going to be? i had contemplated somehing along the lines of "biohazard orange" for exterior paint. also something that might add to a car like that is a painted fiberglass glossy headliner, actually in the process of doing that myself in a few days. do you plan to do anything to the interior?

my reatta was converted to 134 a in 99. im not sure why it was done as i got the car in 02. the air works but not too well, ive had it checked out and nothings wrong with it, it just isnt powerful enough for a black car with leather interior in florida,it works but by the time you can really feel it you have a sweaty back. from what other people are saying it may be better to stick with the origional system because apparently it works pretty well. good luck
