Sorry 'bout that Bobalou, we seem to have gotten a little bit off thread now back to our regularly scheduled SPAM <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="960" height="750" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JvDS-ffK1AU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  2. of course it's not mine could be really somthin, replace all the chevy crap of course and I like the seller already, "all it needs is "restoratin" " 1956 buick limo
  3. I know what it is, I know what it is. But I'm not tellin, na na na na na
  4. Oh, thanks to Pete Philips, I already have my small body hard top and love it. And going to look at that Atlanta car made me appreciate mine even more. Unless I win the lottery and can afford to buy one each of all 1954 series, I think the only car left for me to ever consider would be if I could find Breeze. The little 48-D that started it all back in '71.
  5. THANK YOU my good man. Most of last nights round went to Australia and Norway. Not that I didn't expect it.
  6. NOT MINE ...this was relisted after not selling the first time. I typically don't post such for fear of spoiling someones bid but since there's no bids and it didn't sell previously I didn't want anyone that might be interested to miss it. and there's TWO of them I just know if it was 10 years older, I know where it would be. 1964 Buick Dealer Showroom banner - eBay (item 270704240459 end time Feb-16-11 10:01:58 PST)
  7. I have looked at this one. It has come down about $1400 in price in the last 2 months but in my opinion still has about $1200 to go. I think she just wants to get their money out of it and out of the yard. It's near Atlanta, not Chattanooga. 1954 Buick special

Congrats on the new job. So maybe portholes on this one!? Still welcome to park the rig and stay over at BG any time.
  9. GOING TWICE.................. 54roadmasters items - Get great deals on Parts Accessories items on eBay Motors!
  10. I really don't know. I would think that an immaculately restored one could. $23k for such a rare car just surprised me. And they did describe it as a "nice car". If I was close I'd have to at least call and ask to take a look see.

How a little town in Georgia handles speeders make sure to catch the beginning
  12. now THAT's funny. will need to remember that one:D
  13. and this IS a great thread idea JohnD. Or was... it will probably disintegrate now that my ugly mug shot is in it:rolleyes:
  14. uhhh, reread the thread subject line there Dano, you got it half right so far. Beautiful Electra btw. Now I guess I better put up or shut up. So here is Sweet Reet, me and Texas Pete (and Chesty Puller and Zoie the wonder dog)
  15. If this is truly what the ad says it is, it is one rare car. Seventy Years of Buick states that there were only 423 produced for domestic sales and another 120 for export. Jeff are you sure there wasn't 1 in front of that 23,000. I believe these are recognized as true Classics. edit> the production figures above are for a '39. Another source shows only 410 produced in '38
  16. looks like it's gone. Hope it found a good home.
  17. I talked to the seller of these three cars back before I bought the Texas Pete Special. Had he been closer we probably would have made a deal. But the cost of hauling three non running cars that far killed it for me. 1954 Buick Cars and Parts
  18. Noooowwwww, you got it. and hey, watch out for that garbage truck
  19. Bob, if you were layin in an alley and got ran over by a 54 and a 55 Buick, if you didn't pay close attention to how the front and rear bumpers mounted to the frame, you'd be at a loss to know which ran over you first, a 54 or 55. all that to say that the 55 still had the cool looking, great functioning knee shocks.
  20. Seems the virus is cleared. http://forums.aaca.org/f165/careful-when-surfing-bobs-site-right-295649.html#post848848 But I think I'll still use their catalog and call.
  21. that's a great shot of your dad and the car. Priceless. Does he still have those coveralls with the patches?
  22. I'll look them up tonight if no one else has responded. ps never got that "invitation"
  23. Actually Bob, I don't remember where I got most of the non 54 stuff. It was just in my closet one day. Must have been the Buick fairies. that's my story and I'm stickin to it Jim I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer you. Except one thing. BUY A '54. Derek, you should invest in that 62 Facts book. Check my feedback items sold. I sold several Facts Books about a year and a half ago for 3x what I started these at. Regarding the 154.00 for the picture, it started out waaaay lower than that. I had a wiseacre make a derogatory comment about it and suggested I should adjust the price. So I adjusted it. And I could have sold the Nymph On the Quarter Moon lamp that's in that image at least five times. Come on folks. I've been in hot water ever since I robbed MrsEarl's kitchen appliance bank to buy the Texas Pete Special. Help me out here, BID.
  24. Folks the little 4 door Specials and Century's are a joy to drive. Just right for going to the grocery store or parts store. here's one up Cleveland way... 1954 Buick four door Sedan here's one you can drive home from the Nationals in July http://norwich.ebayclassifieds.com/classic-cars/voluntown/1954-buick-special/?ad=7758753 and here is a confused seller. The pictures show a Super but the ad is for a Century. And he states it is a 3 speed. A 3 speed 56R is RARE!!!!! Probably more so than the 3 speed Century's. I've seen a 52R (four door Super) with 3 speed but never a 56R two door. http://southbend.craigslist.org/cto/2179359814.html
  25. Not 100% sure but I'm thinking it's only the Roadmaster that has the wider front drums. I just pulled a set (backing plates and drums) off a Roadmaster that I plan to put on my BlueBird daily driver this spring. I can probably scare up another set if you're interested. You're in Atlanta eh? Did you just happen to rob a little 55 Special in a junkyard in Commerce?
