  3. The only disappointment here is that your better half can not make it. Oh and also that you're not bringing the 1954 Buick Century Estate wagon in Gull Gray with original interior. What EVER are you talking about young man.
  4. BTW Ron, I really like your avatar and signature (and of course the beautiful Wildcat in it). Maybe you could give us a quick "How to" lesson of adding text to the side of a picture in a signature.
  5. Thanks for that link Ron. I had read it before but had missed a couple of interesting facts, these being.... "By 1960, the logo went from one shield to the tri-shield, representing the three Buick models then being built, LeSabre, Invicta and Electra." and finally IMO the sad end of the Red, White and Blue. "With the new see-through design, there are no longer colors in the shields." "Probably" due to the begin of a more global market , spelled C-H-I-N-A . Which granted probably contributed to the saving of the Buick line when other GM lines were disappearing, but did they really have to remove the RWB which has been present since the beginning. I guess however, whomever designed the first logo had some pretty good insight...........

  8. Smitty, you're an ol' custom guy.... This job has been around and for sale for 2-3 years. I strongly suspect the project was moving right along, until the realization of what having glass made for the chopped top was going to cost. While I personally commend the guy for making what he did out of a basic 4 door Super, I am not interested in purchasing....I just wanted to post this to draw in some discussion of these old school custom jobs. Whadayathink Smitty. BTW I really do have an appreciation of your knowledge and past 1st hand experience with these customs.   12. I did not have time to even walk the car coral so missed this '54. And from where I'm sittin I can't make out for sure what model it is. The belt line looks to be a Super? Any body know if it sold or what the deal was. Somebody here on the forum is looking for nice '54 under 10 grand. Edit) Joseph, you were there...did you see this car?
  13. In summary, from this to this, in just a little over a year! Granted Bob, a great paint shop and and a modern day gypsy upholsterer named Carl did most of the heavy work. but you my friend orchestrated the whole damn thing. You are such an inspiration to us all Bob. And my personal hero.

  18. Yea, I was "sho" surprised to see you too, B. Sorry we didn't have more time to chat, but oh man what a day. I tried to cram too much into one day and everything that could slow me down did, starting before even leaving the house. 4:30 am discovered I had left the interior lights on in truck overnight requiring a one hour jump and charge battery delay. Two wrecks on I-85 causing another 1 1/2 hour delay then due to all the construction and mind on listening to music instead of what friggin exit I was looking for drove right past exit 49 about 10 miles. As I was traveling those 10 miles I observed south bound traffic backed up for miles due to another accident and thought those poor suckers, probably all going to Charlotte. That's when I realized I was past my exit and was now one of those poor suckers. Finally got there around 11:30, finally found Bob and only had about an hour to spend with him and see the new convertible before having to leave to go pick up a Roadmaster down in Walhalla SC which I ended up strapping down in the dark, then home. I did find a nice '35 Buick poster still in the mailing tube and saw you and Bob so it was all worth it. That was one of the biggest Charlotte events I have been to. Charlotte in the spring is much better than in the fall.

  20. Here are some comparable's. Lots to consider but the red super would come closer to getting my bid at up 10K over the other 2 at their asking. I corresponded with the Roadmaster owner, to incorrect for me. The blue super needs about 6K worth of body and paint. Of course I'd have a lot of questions for the red Super seller before bidding beyond the current 7,600 bid. I suppose you noticed the red Super has Armstrong steering. Look at that original front bumper. I'd give anything to find a plater who could reproduce that look. A cross between stainless and chrome look.   21. Saw it yesterday and in Mr E's expert opinion, the most beautiful and finest restored 55 Buick in existence.
  22. speakin of pay, you got any Fat Tire left? I like to work on electrical after dark, you can see short sparks better...and they're purdier edit) I got a nos flasher but that don't mean it is a known good... edit2) you checked our windshield install out for water leaks yet? is the rubber in for the rear one yet?
