  1. and thanks for posting them slimedog. Since you had not introduced yourself I had to assume it was a Commrecial ad but decided to split the difference and move it and also leave it here. Are you close to or familiar with the cars. That "seafoam green" colored one could be a beauty. Wish I had the cash.
  2. Moved this post to the AACA Commercial Forum but thought it interesting enough to esure any Rivi enthusiasts here see it http://forums.aaca.org/f158/two-1965-rivieras-sale-near-richmond-345848.html
  3. If you could contact this grocery cart manufacturer they might could give you a pretty good idea......... 1949 Buick Straight 8
  4. Someone down under needs to know Hello Mr Earl, If you would be so kind to spare some time for me as I am having trouble finding information. I have bought a motor and transmission from a 1949 buick super and need the exact weights for shipping to Australia. Appreciate any help, Cheers - Graham
  5. Eddie Edmunds, who later sold to Fenton, made dual carb manifolds for most all the early 8's. 248, 263 and 320 I think. Real perty all polished up. They demand pretty good prices if can be found.
  6. I'd like dibs on Radiator, starter " used" relay and new relay, generator, Jack and handle, spare tire and wheel, four original wheels without tires, breather , transmission mount Can you PM or email prices 1954buick@gmail.com some pictures would be good too
  7. Thanks everyone for your supportive posts but that definitely was not my reason for posting. The reason I posted was to simply remind everyone that there are rules and guidelines that have been established that if followed should allow everyone to enjoy this great forum and the friendships and camaraderie that come with it. I am not the least bit happy about the action that was taken and just so everyone knows, a decision like this isn't made in haste and isn't decided by just one individual. I sincerely hope that the person returns and becomes a contributing member in good standing again. Thanks again. NOW, Dandy Dave, you had something to say about a '54.
  8. Go with SMS at $239, that'll leave $56 for Fat Tire. To be consumed during installation which guarantees it will look great after or after, if it looks horrible, and you want just forget about it. Either way, count me in as an official holder upper. I promise I won't bomb on you like the hood install. All the leaves are up now. Almost...
  9. Nothin purdier than a fresh correctly painted and detailed Nailhead. Well almost nothin. (In case Rita might be shoulder surfin). Great job Joe!!! I just hope you didn't paint the underside of the intake manifold. Wouldn't want it to be incorrect.... he he he he he he he
  10. John et al, upper management is unwavering on not allowing the posting of any disparaging remarks toward businesses, vendors or persons. It's all about liability, lawsuits, insurance etc. Again my suggestion is to simply post a question asking if anyone has had a good or bad experience with such and such company or vendor and asking that if so they please private message you. Same thing in case you wish to endorse or on the other hand advise against some one using a vendor.
  11. Ladies and Gentlemen, I feel that my main duties as a Moderator are to help provide a FRIENDLY, PLEASANT environment where people wanting to share experiences and stories about their Buicks as well as receive technical assistance, can come to do so. Due to some recent posts by members who apparently either have not read or did not understand the rules, or perhaps thought that they did not apply to them... that has not been the case in one of the subforums. Instead it has resulted in members actually leaving due to not wishing to be subjected to some of the bare fisted punches being thrown there. I as moderator will not tolerate individuals who seemingly on purpose attempt to disturb and disrupt this normally peaceful community. Regrettably this has resulted in temporary suspensions of some members. Hopefully they will return with a better attitude and understanding of the rules. If not there are lots of other forums for such unfriendly sorts of interactions and I will suggest they please seek out one of those places because there will not be a plate at the table for them here. However, just in case the "Rules" have not been clear enough to this point I have taken the liberties to expand and better define how I read the AACA rules. Please take the time to read. Here > http://forums.aaca.org/f115/rules-345708.html#post1135321 I will leave this thread open for thoughts and opinions but not for heated debate. It will not be a sounding board for the issues surrounding the recent actions. Thank you all and Buick on......
  12. and I have seen them on a restored 55 engine but never a 54. I assumed it was a new and improved thing for 55, like much of the rest of the car. So the 54 engines you saw them on were unrestored Willie?
  13. Gentlemen, I found it necessary to remove some posts that had gotten off course and out of line. Some innocent bystanders posts may have also gotten removed due to this and I regret that. May I suggest that you please read and abide by the rules governing this forum. here> http://forums.aaca.org/f115/rules-345708.html
  14. Do you know the cars history and can you share that? Is there evidence to show that the 20,115 showing on the odometer is either the first 20K or the second?

Personally I think the body color matching wheels and the pinstripes along with the body color and EZEye tint glass on this car looks awesome. Man if this baby was at Buick Gardens I would have no problem naming it. Bluebell
  16. The seller asked me to help with posting some pictures of the car and I am happy to oblige. With exception of one small detail, it is my kind of car...original and unmolested... I have enjoyed receiving, perusing and posting the pictures. he plans to take more pictures including the data and vin plates and headliner etc. I love it when sellers are willing to take detailed pictures on request and give as good of a descrioption as possible. Although as we all know perceptions of condition vary from one person to another, but I think this seller is being as forthright possible. I would love to hear the history of the car.

WELL!!! If I can manage to get my foot out of my mouth, I would like to retract my comment about "try to get someone to buy a 4 door Super at $4,000.00. You should have no problem selling this low mileage, solid, unmolested barn find with power options, EZEYE glass that compliments the color of the car wonderfully and something you don't see every day on a large series Super, hub caps with beauty rings instead of full wheel covers for that price. All this car needs is a couple of weekends of fun clean up to be brought to South Bend and possibly entered into the Archival class. Would like to see pics of the Data Plate and Vin number.

OK, that info helps tremendously. Sounds very reasonably priced now. No rust, if the glass is all good and no fogging, with original perfect interior......well worth the asking...
  19. The 55 brake pedal nomenclature is different between a 55 and a 54, so can't help you there. Regarding your question about where "something of this nature" should be posted, my feeling is that this is a "General Buick Discussion" forum and although there "may" be more viewers in this site, subjects of a more technical nature and relevant to a certain year, such as this post, should be posted in either the Pre or Post War forums. After all if everyone posted here just because they want more exposure what would be the need for anything other than the "General" forum. One of the benefits of posting in the correct period forum is for those members doing a search for the same subject matter later. It also helps keep your post toward the top longer so it can be seen.

yea, the low end on the price guides are around $4000. 1955 Buick 50 Super 4 Door Sedan Value, Prices & Specs | NADAguides | NADA 1955 Buick 50 Super Book Value & 1955 Buick 50 Super Market Price But try selling if for that and see how long it will take. 4 door cars, especially the lower end line (Supers, Special) just don't have a big market. Of course threre are exceptions, like me, I want a '54 of EVERY series. If you want to share pictures and give a better description we can try and help evaluate it for you. http://neworleans.craigslist.org/cto/3509908326.html
  21. Which one are you looking for. Here is a fairly large one in this lot Buick Club of America Collection Buick National Buick Patches Dash Plaques Decal | eBay This is one of my favorite, but only about 4 inches I think Vintage Buick V Eight Embroidered Cloth Patch Still SEALED | eBay
