  1. Thanks, I just looked at those pictures about a week ago. Shows how smart I am.
  2. Can someone post a picture of the rivets or screws that hold the 25MPH tag that goes on the dash of a DB truck? My neighbor has a '28 that I need to put the tag on.Thanks
  3. I believe the one Hemmings has is a '36, maybe they could help you too.
  4. I think that is the exhaust for Number 4 closes .022 past tdc of number 1. At tdc of number 1 the exhaust valve for number 1 would not have opened yet.

You'd hire a ------- lawyer to get $200.00 back? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> </div></div>That's funny!! Pay $400 to get back $200.
  6. The buyer's premium is just that, extra cost the buyer pays. It doesn't matter who the seller is. I won't go to an auction that I have to pay for a bidder's number or pay buyer's premium.
  7. Humpback, that's called an avatar, maybe avitar. I have no clue how you post one, if no one sees it here ask down in the forum question area. Maybe a moderator can help.
  8. Stevie G, thanks for all your time with the site.
  9. Dave, for some reaason the pics in the gallery are gone.
  10. Steve, wasn't this right before Henry declared the Beetle as being of NO value?

  12. I'm pretty sure a financial report is discussed at every nat'l meeeting, that would be at Hershey dinner and summer nat'l meet. Why not contact the treasuree, I'm sure he would be able to give you a copy?
  13. http://www.gtherald.com/herald/2006/jun/28dodge.htm Rick, do you know who this Kerr guy is?
  14. Ivan, I have a dual dist. from a Nash, cap is broken. Do you have the distributor number?
  15. StevieG, I was meaning Rick might be locked out for not paying his dues. He's been known to spend all his $$ on rubber chickens. Thanks for all your effort on the site.
  16. I just saw that The Peterson had free admission for Deuce Day. What a concept!
  17. I think you guys are missing the reason they came out with the new plate. I think it will show up in the traffic cameras which the old purple or YOM plates would not do. Petition all you want, I'll even sign it too. But I don't think the state cares what the people think. Look at the gambleing casinos that no one wanted. Gee, if we were really going to get a lot of money from the casinos would Fast Eddie really have to raise the sales tax?? And did you notice the doubleing of your driver's license fees this year? Sorry to highjack, I'm done.

While the idea of customer appreciation day, a free day, has come up as something that would be nice to do, the reality is that Friday, Saturday and Sunday are our big gate days. The AACA Museum like many of the other 17000 museums in the United States has to weigh the lost income against any real or perceived gains. John Marsh Guest Services AACA Museum </div></div>What would be an average weekly attendance at the AACA museum? And the average Friday, Saturday, and Sunday attendance? Not during a special event week, but just the average week.

It is a violation, and there are a few enterprising municipalities out there who have found ways of encouraging their officers to find as many as possible (if you know what I mean). People were fined for covering up the "r" in "<span style="font-style: italic">You've got a friend in Pennsylvania</span>". They'll get fined for this, too. </div></div>Gee Dave, that's nothing. The first year PA. used the "truck" plate I had a VW single cab pickup named Harglebarkle. A buddy adjusted the letter T and crossed out the R to give a new meaning. Drove it that way for a couple years.
  20. The Dodge Story by Thomas McPherson is about the only book that covers DB models. There are plenty of books that cover the DB history including Henry Hyde's new book. Join the Dodge Brothers Club, if you already haven't. The newsletter always has good info. Find a Book of Information, which is what the owner's manual is called, for your specific year and month of manufacture. The Book of Info changes quite often as upgrades were made to the cars because DB didn't wait for model year end to change things.
  21. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> i think one of the most unuasul 2 strokes i have see is a twin cylinder single (twingle) with on combustion chamber, one plug.. </div></div>VW had a prototype that was built like this, I've seen drawings but forget the model number.Suzuki also had a mini-jeep from the early 70's that was 2 stroke.
  22. To the best of my knowledge the Swiggart Museum owns all or most of the cars they display. There's even times of the year that you need reservations to get in. That would be private to me. It uses MUSEUM in it's name, even it's address. I do know visitors pay admission. You call it what you want. I guess the AACA museum really isn't a car museum since it has both buses and motor scooters in it. But one would have to visit to know that! Is there any discussion about the topic of the original thread??
  23. I guess the arguement could be made that only old car owners are interested in going to an old car museum. So the museum would be giving free admission to their only customers, all showing up on Sunday. But I don't think that's true. I think a full parking lot would create more interest to anyone driving by. The whole intent is to spread the about the hobby. I live rather close to a car museum, you'd be surprised at how many neighbors haven't taken the time to visit.
  24. Looking at the first list I found of car museums in the US, I count at least 175. That certainly isn't all of them, because I know of about 12 that aren't on the list including the Peterson, EMMR, Nat'l Corvette, and AACA, plus a few private ones.
