5. I have a brass Stromberg carb that was on my '28 Essex. The carb is in good condition, and was working when removed. That is the engine was running! I will send pix upon request. $100.00 for the carb. dlmarx@bellsouth.net
6. Wow, never heard of white vinegar, but try this; Tincture of Iodine. Years ago I bought a 37 Caddy that had a siezed up cylinder. The local old guy, my father in law, said that as a youngster they would use Iodine to loosen rusted bolts, etc, on the farm equip. Well one pint of Iodine in the cylinder and 48 hours later, that piston was free in the cylinder. Don't ask me how it works, I don't know! Dan
7. I have a distributor with a cap that has a brass tag on the cap: TYPE F. UNISPARKER October 11, 1904 Pat. Nov 22, 1904 Dec 9, 1910 PATENTS PENDING I believe that Atwater Kent made this, but I have no idea what it fits. The distributor and cap fit on a shaft. Appears to be in good condition. Any ideas? Thanks Dan

17. I have a 16x20 framed colored picture of a 1940 Buick Brewster Sedanca DeVille. Picked this up at a yard sale. Is there a registry in the BCA for these cars? Can't be many Brewster Buicks around.? Thanks Dan dmarx@voyager.net
18. Look for the Tucker car (hot rod?) on ebay. Has a Merc engine in it. Read the expalnation, it is interesting that the last cars sold had no engine. Is this true? Dan
19. Great thread. When I was doing swap meets is Georgia, there was gentlemen that was called the Professor. He sold suspension. I eventually asked him why he had the moniker and he had a Ph.D and was a tenured professor at a major university. Great guy to have as neighbor at a swap meet. When it comes to swap meets, who cares what you do for a living. I just want a great neighbor, good friend, and someone you can trust to watch your "stuff" when you need to make a run to the out house.
20. Gotta love that GI bill, Needed a job and money in '75, went to college and needed to declare a major. Been there a whole 3 days!!! Looked at a list and picked Nuclear Medicine Tech. No idea what it was. Well that lasted until I went back in the Army in '79 and retired in '95. First job, driving a hearse, sombody has got to do it!!! Add some adjunct faculty work at a small college in Flint, MI, that lasted eight years. Currently semi retired in lovely Boykin, SC. Never find that on a map!!! do some consulting as a medical physicist and swap meets in the southeast for THERAPY. Dan
21. ChaplainLar There are plenty of engines, trans, and rear drive trains available for the super six. The tough part is the sheet metal. Fenders are almost non-existant. These bodys are heading towards the street rod scene. No everyone needs a Ford!!! When I parted out my car, there was a big interest in the steering wheel, wood wheels, various suspension and breaking rods, and lights. Good luck Dan
22. Well folks, as I have made my way to Scottsdale for the annual "I've got more money than brains show" thought I would let you in on some prices!! One Diet Pepsi - $15.00, two Diet Pepsi $15.00, three Diet Pepsi-$15.00. Do the math, three drink minimum, $15.00. That is the same price for a bloody Mary. Cars aren't the only item that is outrages. Back to the show!!! Dan
23. Well folks, I have been using trans fluid in my old ford tractors for many years. Add one quart for each fill up of gas. Of course it was recommended by my father-in-law who is quite long in the tooth. The old 8N ford tractors are running better than him. Hmm, I wonder if a quart would help him???!!!
24. That 53 Chrysler probably has a 331 Hemi, a lot of fun at cruises. I had a 53 New Yorker Town and Country Wagon with the 331 Hemi and you couldn't believe the eyes of the young fellers when they saw the "hemi". More fun with the car will be driving it. It has a slush-a-matic trans (fluid drive). For the novice it has a learning curve for shifting. $5K is not a bad price for a solid car. Not sure you will flip it for big money unless it has lots of bells and wistles. Dan
