  1. Exdrill98th. Update. Pat's in Ramstein, Germany today playing with the frauliens. He's to go to Frankfurt tomorrow for the "big bird" ride to Baltimore tomorrow. Looks like Thursday's the big day! W.
  2. Too close to my home to miss it, Earl. I shall be there. I guess I'll have to find some stock wheels for my wagon! Wayne
  3. Sounds like Peter is up to those "good deeds" again! Wayne
  4. Just so everyone knows! I last heard from ex98thdrill last night,Monday night, at 9:00pm. He was in Turkey waiting for a plane to Germany. So, I guess he's not quite home yet, but at least he's in friendly country. He also said he was not monitoring the "welcome home" thread so as not to spoil "it" for me. Wayne
  5. Job well done, Pat. I know everybody's glad to hear you are home safely. You should touch down any time now. So, here's a welcome home "card" for everybody to sign------------Wayne Burgess
  6. Boy, Edin is sure teasing you guys with the answer. I love a mystery. W. Nice car Edin!
  7. Great news, Pat! Sounds like you had a good time. A Harley for that price and you didn't find out until the last day? Geez, makes you want to stay a little longer and do some collecting, right? By the way, send us your home address, so I'll know where to send the next newsletter. Wayne
  8. Ok Pat, It's been two days now since your fancy dinner at the US Embassy, and we haven't heard a word about all that special food that the "big wheels" fed you. Or, did his young daughters drag you off after seeing those big muscles and you're ashamed to admit it? Since this is an open e-mail, we all want to know the juicy details. If it's really bad , just use an anon post this "one" time! We want to know , we reeaaallllly doooo? Wayne
  9. PeterG must have liked some of my pictures to post them again. FYI, page 8, pictures number 166 & 167 are of my buddy PJHeizmann's Grand National Winning Triumph. These pictures were taken when he least expected it. That's why he didn't have on his white shirt & tie. The Triumph got her award at New Bern, NC this year. I guess you need another project now, huh, Pete? Wayne
  10. Dynaflash! That heating "operation" is dangerous for people in your age bracket! W.
  11. Howard. There are other members wondering about the voting processes of the AACA. While checking a local region's AACA net site, I came across the Eastern Shore Region's net site listed on our AACA home page. In going through their site, a gentleman posted that he was very upset over the new "hot rod" class being "pushed" through the club. He said he'd like to know the viewpoints of all candidates for office before, he voted for anybody! Seems like a lot of members want the national officer candidates of the AACA to follow guidelines similar to our country's election process. Just something for thought. Wayne
  12. Thanks Ron, I was speaking of the annual meeting seminars in February. Sorry. Wayne
  13. 1937hd45! That Bob's pretty sharp. It took me a while but I found this picture in a "Sports Car" book. It sure resembles the South American treasure, especially that hood scoop. The scoop's attached to the front nose instead of the hood, though. You guys figure it out. Of course, my picture is of a 166 type Ferrari. www.aaca.org/misc/ferrari166berlinetta.jpg (no spaces in net address) Wayne
  14. I don't know about that Bob, but there surely is a nice tent anchor in that picture! W.
  15. ???? unregistered anon!, Thanks for the picture, PeterG
  16. Yea, That figures Dynaflash! I can't get any respect. Let me see if I can put something neat on here! Wayne
  17. Howard, re."kept in the dark". Such a true statement. Not wanting to start the "hot rod" thing again, if more was known about and discussed about this class before it was pushed through, there wouldn't be so much bitterness over this class. That's a shame, because I think the class will be a historical addition to the AACA, right beside the race car class. You should have seen the interest in that class (race cars) at Hershey this year. Very interesting cars, very interesting people. Example; the Bounty Hunter dragster sitting in line with the original driver leaning against the fence. Both driver and car aging very nicely, Thank you very much! Wayne
  18. Dynaflash8, John said he is coming down tonight I think, then heading on down to Florida, pick up wife, continue on to Daytona for the annual street rod show(Turkey Run). He's supposed to drive 20 hours straight back to Pa. by the weekend. I've been to Florida a few times, and I've never seen anything down there worth abusing my body that badly for. Hmmm, maybe for the wife, depending on how well she cooked. You ever notice as you get older that, that love addiction turns into a food addiction. Glad you liked the newsletter, also happy to serve the club at Philly. Why else would I go up there, just to meet a bunch of nuts like myself? Wayne
  19. No, No, PackardV8! I think the rants & raves section can become the forum for people who don't have to hide behind an anon post to disagree with someone. I find this refreshing. Slandering people behind an anon. post is no better than those Palistinians cowards hiding behind women's skirts, while throwing rocks at people. Just my opinion, for what it's worth. Wayne
  20. Great News, Pat. As the rest of the now knows, Pat's going to be leaving the sand pits of hell across the big pond shortly. Sounds like you will be surprising everybody for the Holidays. I've enjoyed conversing with you on this forum.Just shows the forum can be used for good in keeping our troops in touch with civilization and the people that love and appreciate them. Good luck, Wayne
  21. J446, Campenello recast the wheels for you. I'd guess that set you back 3 or 4 grand a piece? I love those early Italian sports car wheels.Wayne
  22. Great picture, Amphicar! I like the headlights burning, gets the bathers attention when you're coming out. I too think this is a wonderful posting. Thanks! The truck in the net site is clean because it's still new(2500 miles). Winter is around the corner though, and we run upstate New York as well as N.W. Pennsylvania. I hate to see salt all over the aluminum panels and wheels. It's like a nice antique car though, made to drive not put in a museum somewhere. You guys have a good Thanksgiving. Wayne
  23. Pat, You keep forgetting I grew up with bailing wire on the farm, have hot rods, and don't let computers or the gov-mint slow me down. Heck, I've even pulled the tag off a mattress to see what would happen. Nobody even showed up. I guess that's why me and the "services" didn't get along. Wayne
