  1. I guess I'm like everyone else in keeping my stuff in a notebook. I have two books and plan to empty out one for the following month and vice versa. Like Ron, I keep the same front page every month and just redo the date and cover picture each month. I have two months in my publisher at any one time. A friend told me I shouldn't keep that much stuff in my harddrive, but I haven't figured out a better way to do it. I started using a color printer that the club brought me a few months ago. I'm so proud of the pictures that I burn(download) two issues at a time to a C/D to keep for reference. The color seems to help in the readership as I get a lot of good comments and I'm called to the mat if someone doesn't get an issue. That makes me feel good to know they appreciate it that much. Wayne
  2. Thanks for the picture, Howard. I look at Mr. Henry and think of a handsome young man until I see the picture was almost 50 years old. Wayne
  3. Dave@Moon! Thank you from all of us for posting the net site. I never even thought of going direct to the AutoWeek site, silly me. By the way, the original post was not meant to mean tickerers can't read, just something to get your attention. I guess it worked, Huh? Wayne
  4. You keep surprising me, Dave. I like the "sounds" of your collection. I'd like to hear you on "tour" sometime. W.
  5. Hey Pop! I sent it to PeterG this morning. He's working on his new home, I think. He'll put it on as soon as he gets time, I'm sure. I'm sorry to make you wait. Wish I could learn to do that myself. Wayne
  6. Yea, I knew that , but don't let Peter know I can read. It'd spoil all his fun at my expense. W.
  7. For all of us attending, ( surviving might be a better word) Hershey this year, We were noticed anyway! The November 11th. issue of AutoWeek had a nice article about the Hershey Affair last month, written by John F. Katz. There was information in there that I didn't catch. His pictures weren't any better than mine, though. Modesty is not in my vocabulary! Pick up a copy if you can find it, or I'll scan it for you if you like! Wayne
  8. Bob, I guess that put my brand in good company anyway, although I don't think the Pete's are made that well today. Ahhhh!, but at least they're still in business. Strange thing about the truck market. The pricing got really up there to about a year ago. For instance, the truck pictured was $95,000 in '95, $115,000 in 2002, an now it's $98,000. But, new polution standards are pushing that price up another $4000.00 from this month on. Thanks Dave@Moon types! Sorry, Dave,I know you love us,but jeez, you are expensive to have around. Well, guys I guess I've completely screwed up this thread, Sorry Wayne
  9. Peter, You're only in danger if you drive a rice burner or something that won't get out of it's own way. Memorize this frontal view, especially the spelling on the hood emblem, (hint: Peterbilt) and you'll be ok. http://www.aaca.org/misc/burgess.jpg Wayne
  10. TsandAs! Great job. Sounds restored to me regardless of what some people on this forum have to say. I thought we were supposed to share our hobby with the public. There's no better way, in my opinion, than driving them. Hey! don't you have a t-bird to get going? Wayne
  11. I'm into automotive magazines, about 9 or 10 a month. a few metal models, and cars(drivers). People come by my house and wonder "That guy must party all the time, he has visiters 24 hours a day". Wayne
  12. You picking on me again, Bob. You don't have to prove to these guys that I'm a big dummy, they've probably figured that out by now. Wayne
  13. Merc! You must be a Ford fan! Welcome.Wayne
  14. All right!! Peter. That Buick oughta do the trick. Sure looks nice. My buddy Earl, says you can't go wrong with a Buick. I think Earl even had a Buick bicycle as a kid! Wayne
  15. L I Stellite, I hate to say this and I know the rest of you guys will crucify me, but that "Pinto" motor and transmission will run forever and with a good quiet muffler, nobody will even know it's not original. You could drive that baby to the left coast ( East coast for PeterG) and back, and not even check the oil, much less the water. OK guys, Put up the "dukes", show me what you got! Wayne
  16. Old Car Guy!1 Static Sheets??? Explain! Young (ignorant) Car Guy
  17. I agree with Skyking also, Ron. I had an old beater Nissan sitting beside a mechanic's shop some years ago waiting for a replacement brake master cylinder to get installed. I had left the keys under the seat like I always did. The tags were dead as was the inspection sticker. The car was stolen one weekend by two delinquent kids and taken for a joy ride to Fredericksburg, Va., about 60 miles away. The brakes were really bad, had to be pumped continously to even consider stopping the car. Evidently there were driving a little too fast in Fredericksburg, got noticed by a cop, knew they were in trouble, so they made a run for it. Speeding through town, running red lights, heading for the interstate on-ramp. Too fast, hard turn, oops!, too late, no brakes, multiple rollovers. The boys ended up in jail with many cuts and bruises. Like old Clint would say, "You got to know your limitations". I guess that goes for the cars limitations also.
  18. PeteG, Not to change the subject, but how about some more pictures of that new house with the funny wall studs?
  19. Ron, You need to let us know when the "launching date" gets near. Maybe those of us close enough to your home can throw you a party or something to commemorate the event. The very least we can do, worst case scenario, is stand by with a line to pull you in! I'm serious about the launching date. Make it a Sunday and I could bring the whole family up from Virginia. Wayne
  20. I'm among "Masters", people who can repair anything, and still have it operate correctly. I'm like Hartmann, I like to drive the iron, Hard! I'm even dreaming of owning of an 1900-15 Brass car and gear it to run at least 60 mph, like I said dreaming. You fellows who have met me know I like to show off. Whoops, off subject! I like the mech. work, a little wiring if it doesn't have a computer hooked to it. And I don't touch body work. there are too many unskilled lackies already holding those career skills. I'm somewhat like my buddy Earl, Give me the bill, Man!, I ain't got time to talk about it. I'm too busy running my small business. Sorry about running on guys! Wayne
  21. You fellows pay entirely too much attention to Hartmann. That's why he keeps doing such things,....for the attention. You should remember those antics from your school days. Mr. Thomas got his information posted and I'm sure the rest of us will help him in any way we can. That's why the majority of us are here,...to help people. My apologies to Mr. Thomas for the minorities!
  22. Amen on that Peter, I'm beginning to see the light. I hate to see such talent wasted.
  23. Mr Lay, Here's a tip from streetrodders. Almost all rodders have a battery cutoff switch hidden somewhere on their car, under the seat, behind a fender, etc. A friend of mine told me last week of a attempt at stealing a rod after a large midwest show. The perpetrator got in the car easily enough, and then snatched the wires to do a hot wire, but got very confused when he couldn't find any fire in the harness, so he gave up for easier pickings elsewhere. They don't have a lot of time to troubleshoot an electrical problem. Wayne
  24. tommy1927! I hate to tell you this Tommy, but I think people have had enough time to get the log-in part of the new forum straight. All they have to do is e- mail Peter or anybody else who's logged in, on a regular basis, to get help in this area. I have a time trying to figure out a discussion thread when everybody is a anon! Wayne
  25. What is it with all these greyhounds on those old fords. Is that the only way those drivers could contemplate speed, imagine it. Sorry guys, off post. Couldn't help myself. And yes, I know those old fords mopped up them chevy's in the old days. Wayne
