  2. Club Member Brian Spear is looking for anyone interested in going in on having a batch of 3.55 to 1 gears made. Stock is 4.27 to 1. Could potentially work with 38 E & H. Cost dependent on how many sign up. Contact Brian at 203-488-7107 or pm me and I'll give you his email.
  3. Some of the prices did not seem smart to me but to each his own. The ragging on the rich thing comes up quite a bit in the car forums. I think of the wealthy collectors I know personally and also those that are well known. ALL of them started with little or nothing. I can think of two that I know pretty well that both own or have owned multiple Duesenbergs as well as many many other very expensive cars. Neither of those guys had college degrees and both started life driving dump trucks. We should not look down on people because they are successful.
  4. Dick, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I will say a prayer for your wife. A.J.
  5. This is true as far I know. The changes are all supposed to be reversible. To date no pictures because of the rules prior to the show.
  6. And good old Freedom of Speech gives us all the right to talk about what a POS we are looking at.
  7. I'm sure the traditional hot rod guys were as offended by that monstrosity as we are. Having money does not necessarily give you taste.
  8. Not just the lack of money in the depression but the reticence of those with money to display it.
  9. Hi, Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. You could try this: www.blogger.com which is a free blogging service.

To my knowledge all prewar Bentleys are RHD.
  11. Bob, every time you come to the forum, just push the "new posts" button along the top and it will give you all the new posts across all the forum. It will be 50% Reatta but you don't miss anything.
  12. The Cord was covered in detail on the ACD forum.
  13. The rear fenders look like XK120 Jag.
  14. It is a homebuilt. May have started life as a roadster or speedster.
  15. I just read the article. Sounds like the 500K is not the only crazy car they are hiding. I always wondered what happened to that Horch that Cary Grant was pictured sitting in.
  16. Keith, I agree that the Royale is under-appreciated. The dynamic of the hobby is interesting. Because there are very few Reo cars to begin with, you don't have a group of guys trying to work their way up to the "top of the mountain" like you do with Packard. I've been a big fan since about 1975 when my dad and I were pulling the master cylinder out of a Royale Chassis because it was identical to Duesenberg Model J.
  17. I was too. S Ray Miller's brought 190k 8 years ago. There was another which is escaping me that brought 220. Ton of money agreed but not unprecedented.
  18. Nice ones have brought more at auction. It is a slim market but they are great and under appreciated cars.
  19. For anybody keeping track of these things here is a 37 540k Cab "B" that sold at Retromobile last week for approx 645k. Looks to be an older restoration. I couldn't find a catalog description. Take note of the earlier of the two Cab "B" body styles. I prefer the humpback (later style), but there are many that like this one.
  20. That thing was cool. The quandary is what to do, leave it as is or return to original. I would lean towards leaving it alone.
