1. Hi, Mike... Had the same scenario. I was told by a friend that there was a picture of my TR-6 in the Oct. 2003 issue taken at the Concour d'Elegance of the Eastern U.S. Looked everywhere for a copy (Borders, Barnes & Noble, 2 local newspaper/book stores). In the end, I waited until November and ordered a copy via e-mail. production@carcollector.com Car Collector Magazine, LLC 5095 S. Washington Avenue Suite 207 Titusville, Florida 32780 Regards, Peter J.
2. Good one, again, Tommy...Keep 'em coming!!! Regards, Peter J.
3. Hi, Rich... Maybe you could organize a DF'ers meeting. At all National Meets we meet at Class 5 - Motorskooters at 1:00. Give it a try. Regards, Peter J.
4. Hi, Ron...consider it done for you and Ralph...
5. Been awhile, John...look forward to seeing you again. Regards, Peter J.
6. No problem, Judy... I will have the list and be certain there is room for you and Barker. Regards, Peter J.
7. We're in business, folks... Big THANK YOU TO MIKE JONES, Annual Meeting Chairman... ________________________________________________________________________________ Mike wrote: I have arranged a room for the Discussion Group members to meet for lunch at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza. You will be in Logan I on the Lobby Level (at the bottom of the escalator) at Noon on Friday, February 13th. Box lunches and beverages will be available for sale on the Ballroom Level. If you have any special menu needs you should let me know ahead of time so the hotel can be prepared. Please confirm that this is acceptable and that you will take advantage of this room for your group luncheon. Glad we were able to accommodate you with the untimely closing of St. George's! Best regards, ________________________________________________________________________________ We can gather about 11:45 - 12:00. MIKE REQUESTED THAT I CONFIRM THAT THIS IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE DF FOLKS, AND, I RESPONDED THAT IT IS WITH GRATITUDE. Regards, Peter J.
8. Dave... Trying to keep posts within the thread topic. Thanks for any considerations. Regards, Peter J.
9. hilgret...Welcome to the Forum... Windows, hood, trunk, (convertible top ?) up. (I used to leave the driver's side window down at a meet in hot weather with the passenger side up. The judges always asked me to roll up the driver's side to check its condition.) Ashtray, glove box closed (if a judge wants to see them, then open them up.) Floor mats in... Remember: The more you display for judging, then, the more items get judged. You do not have to hide anything, just show your car in a natural, here it is, judge it mode. Just my personal advise, make sure the the ashtray, glove box, etc., are clean and as delivered new from the factory in case you are asked to open them. The AACA Judges are very fair. Relax and enjoy the meet. Regards, Peter J.
10. Folks, please keep to the Thread Topic. Thanks in advance, Peter J.
11. Peter and others: I feel we should set it for 12:00. That would give us an obvious 45 minutes +/- to meet. Regards, Peter J.
12. Mike got back to me. He is looking into accommodating us and will inform us shortly. Regards, Peter J.
13. Thank you for the suggestion, Janet. I will contact Mike Jones to see if this can be arranged. Regards, Peter J.
14. Thank you, Judy...I updated the above list. Regards, Peter J.
15. Folks, the Box Lunch concept is fine with me. For "new" people, Box Lunches are sold at the Mezzanine lobby just outside of all the seminar meeting rooms...you pay the attendants for whatever you purchased. The tally as of today, 1/31/04 is listed below. It is open ended, in that, anyone wishing to join us, please do... Thought the list below may assist you to identify/greet people. (I know what it is like walking into a room and not knowing who-is-who.) There will also be a "sign-in" book in the room, of which, may further help you. 16. The scenario, of which, this thread paints is exactly the same as what I have been saying considering "odd-ball, one of a kind type castings". If you could find more car owners who share the same problem, get a quote from a reputable shop, enlist car owners (investors) who require the same, and, lower the "set-up, or, tooling costs". Regards and good luck, Peter J.
17. Wayne... Here are the suggestions, so far: 1. Elephant & Castle 2. TGI Friday's 3. Box Lunch in the quiet corner of the lobby. (We really have only about 50 minutes for lunch due to everyone going back for 1:00 Seminars, so, whatever you folks opt to do, it cannot be a 2 hour lunch) Regards, Peter J.
18. Hybrid...glad the bags worked out OK. They are good, no doubt about it. I was wondering, too, about getting the parts in without tearing them. Again, glad that aspect worked out fine. Take care, Peter J.
19. Art, nice to hear from you. Look forward to seeing you again. Regards, Peter J.
20. Ron...The Original Bookbinder's on Walnut St. is open. Rest assured. ("Bookbinder's in the Historic District near the Delaware River Waterfront closed.) Regards, Peter.
21. Folks, I am going to incorporate the ideas of Fran Shore, Dave@Moon, and, Bruce Wheeler's into a "menu of choice", if you will, of their good ideas. Please give me a day or so to make some phone calls and I will get back... We could then take a vote on their suggestions as to a replacement for St. George's... Regards, Peter J.
22. Hi, Sal... My favorite is the Sanson Street Oyster House (if you like really fresh seafood). I agree that the Original Bookbinders closing was a shock to the region. Peter J.
23. Hi, Bill...first, Welcome to the Forum, second, we would enjoy having you. Bruce and Di Wheeler graciously will be attempting to arrange lunch at TGIF. We'll have arrangements posted on this thread. Regards, Peter J.
24. Hi, Diz... $30.00?? Let me think it over.. Give us an update on the Zephyr...would be interesting. Regards, Peter J.
