  1. There is a shop here in Omaha who can do a 63 (Upper Series), If you know someone near you who is honest and knows Dynaflow, you can get it handled,no problem. An ordinary shop doing late units is real good at ONE thing,,,, (adding up the bill !!!) I have a complete unit and will sell parts from it,in case you need hard parts. Soft parts are available... I have worked on Dynaflows since 1947..Worked on them in FLINT before they were introduced to the public. Ralph Crisp BCA 2399
  2. Dont know what happened to my previous answer, please forgive me if it shows up,together with this one.I have built well over 250 single wire alternators, most went on "A" Fords, but they show up on about anything that has a battery and a belt to run it. I can take a Delco unit and produce 6,8.12,or even 24 Volts. I have a 6 volt POSITIVE ground unit ready to go.These units have special regulators, built in,and need zero maintenance. One wire goes right to the ammeter, and no otherconnections are needed. 3. I have built well over 200, single-lead alternators. I have a 6 volt positive ground alternator in stock. I can build you a 6,8,12 or 24volt alternator in a Delco case. Zero maintenance, long lasting, and will keep your battery up with a reasonable amount of driving. Been doing electrical for 60 years, and doing tt 6 days a week ,even now. Ralph Crisp BCA 2399
  4. TONY,GET OVER TO SEE ME AGAIN,i PROBABLY HAVE ONE . RALPH CRISP . OMAHA
  5. I have a two-groove puley for a 61or 62,but it would probably do for an earlier one. mrbuick714@webtv.net
  6. NO problem unless you used poor oil or filter
  7. Also,over 50 carburetor kits,bouht at a Buick dealership sell-out.
  8. Contact Lewis Jenkins,he will be able to help you.
  9. I forgot to mention,RED engines are in Compound- carburetor cars only, and 41 engines were"Fireball"
  10. The big engine is enough longer, that the frame and all the front clip parts are longer,also;
  11. If my memory serves me,there was an early and a second jack. Bulletins will describe them. If you have the early one, paint it up real pretty and save it for judging (have another jack in case you have a "flat")
  12. A dozen 2 Bbl carbs for sale,40's and 50's
  13. Did you ever check the firing order on a Ford V8,or a Pontiac V8 ?
  14. The 50 unit will go into the 49 car.You will need to use the 50 oil pan and filler tube if your 49 has the old style filler under the floor mat. Ralph Crisp BCA 2399
  15. Contact Joe Taubits,he did a real nice chassis swap.
  16. If you would consider sending it to Omaha, let me know.Unless it is completely burned up,it would probably be about half the former rebuild.
  17. The 55 had the first GOOD detent. It is located inside the Dynaflow, and is very positive in its action, The 53's and 54's had a tiny detent just under the steering wheel, and it was so weak that now and then,it allowed the car to drop into"L" accidentally. If you feel you need to remove it,it can be removed after simply removing the steering wheel.
  18. Each displacement of the vertical-valve engine used its own flex-plate and balance
  19. The Roadmaster transmission is longer than the 40 series unit. A guy here in Omaha put a small series transmission in a Super and it looked bad. The rear wheels were too far ahead in the openings. You can put the center portion of one rear end into the other, but check driveshft lengths, rear axle tread widths and spring mountings before proceeding on those.
  20. Jack up one rear wheel so the tire just clears the floor, then turn the drive shaft with a thin-nose water pump pliers while edging the transmissiom back. easy!!

I am in the business,I can do yours for $60,(less solenoid),you pay shipping
  22. A special tool,by Buick has three legs that fit into the openings in the wheel hub,and a protective sleeve saves the horn wire and contact. I will loan you the tool if you wish. Also, when you take the large nut off which holds the steering arm.dont pound the arm off.you would ruin the lash- adjuster . The steering arm must be removed with a suitable puller.in fact, you can remove the arm,dig out the old seal and install a new one with the gear in the car .
  23. I am so old I wont even buy green bananas anymore.
