  1. Looks like a Nash grill, Buick sides, and a Lincoln trunk.
  2. I registered one of my converts for my kid's first car this week. The alarm won't turn off. I have the remote, no luck. Used the key, no luck. My service manual is under a pile of stuff from the Charity AMX we are restoring. So, is there an alarm module somewhere I can disable without disabling anything else? I know it is probably something in the driver's door that is causing the problem, but don't really want to take it apart at this time. Just too much else to do now. Thanks
  3. I need two maroon horn buttons for a 90 convert ASAP to get an inspection sticker. Can send money via paypal immediately. Thanks
  4. Is it possible to write the VINs down? Look how much interest we have here with the Reatta-if it a low VIN, future Camaro owners would be appreciative.
  5. just sold on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Makes-Experimental-X-prize-X-Prize-car-experimental-4-passenger-vehicle_W0QQitemZ200305099495QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item200305099495&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A13%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ht_500wt_959 Any idea what they may have done to this car?
  6. Need right front anti lock wheel sensor, new or used. Please help get this light off on my 90. Thanks
  7. Besides my Reattas, I own a few Chrysler Maserati TCs. They also have the Teves brake system and my 90 has a steady anti lock brake light on. I have a pinout (or break out) box, but cannot find any directions for the checks in my 88 service manual. Anyone know where I can find this info (or if it even works on a Chrysler). thanks
  8. I have a 90 and the anti lock brake light is on steady. My mechanic said he needed a DRB1 (?) tool from Chrysler to check it out and plug into the blue connector under the dash. I gave him a pin-out box from a Reatta as a start-where is the module to connect it? (in the Reatta it is in the trunk). Any ideas what I could do to check this out further and fix the problem? thanks
  9. I have a yellow 89 I bought from the original owner's estate with 25K miles. Has umbrella and tool kit. Everything is in great shape except AC doesn't work. A friend called me at work and said he was at the estate sale and one of those Italian body cars I collect was there, priced right. I told him to buy it without seeing it. Well, I collect Allantes, this is too small for me at 6'4" and a lot of pounds. I'll sell it for $5K firm. Then a guy sees the yellow one and tells me about a 90 that needs work. I needed some small parts for the 89 (mainly those rubber parts in the chrome trim around the tonneau cover) so i bought it and fixed it. It is white with a black interior, small puncture hole in ragtop. Has new heads, water pump, timing chain, tune-up, etc etc. Rust at the bottom of one rocker. V6 car. Will sell for $2600 firm.
  10. has anyone seen this? http://www.vinbee.com/cgi-bin/pv.cgi?veh=buick-reatta
  11. I have a 90 TC V6 that had a blown headgasket. When the shop took it apart they sent the heads out and they are cracked. there was no interest in buying the car whole, so I guess I'll have to fix it. I need a set of heads and need to know what to look for. Are these heads on other Chrysler products? What exactly should I be looking for? Thanks.
  12. I have a 1990 with two cracked heads caused by a failed water pump and overheating. There is a pair of heads on ebay now-will these fit my V6? Here is the description: Up for auction a select rebuilt core head using Serdi 100 for a 3 angle valve job. New CAL Valves Guides, re-surfaced, seals, pressure..new valve locks..springs either new or tested to validate condition. No cracks head are pressure and magged Casting number is #709 1988 - 1991 VIN (X) V-6 TBI CAST IRON HEAD CPX51433 Thanks in advance.
  13. Where did that Pontiac picture come from? I replaced the instrument panel this morning and all lights up with 79K miles showing.
  14. I am selling a 1990 Reatta (VIN 900793) that was donated to the Charity AMX Project ( http://www.mattsoldcars.com/charityamx/ ) and I do not know much about it. The instrument panel does not light up but everything else appears to work. Has 16 way seats, sunroof (motor works, but cables must be broken as it does not open), and CD player. The interior is very nice except the steering wheel is dry and faded. There is rust starting on the rear quarter panels. White with Burgandy interior-the back area is not faded at all. missing one Reatta emblem on one wheel hubcap. Headlights open and close without a problem. Excellent Goodyear tires. The brake pedal is hard-the reservoir was empty and I out one bottle of brake fluid in it and it is still low. Body panels. glass, mirrors, etc are in great shape. Price is $700 firm and all the money goes to the Charity AMX Project. Call (508) 378-1423 or e-mail tbenvie@comcast.net
  15. I need to know how to program the remote for one of these. Is your new one for sale? thanks
  16. I had an Allante hardtop shipped from Ohio to Mass for $375 by UPS-They picked it up, packed it and shipped it-if anyone wants a price from halfway across the country. By the way, I also owned a Frank Sinatra Edition Imperial with leather and no sunroof. Still had the tapes, portfolio, umbrella, but not the key fob. I actually had a guy from the Imperial club call me the morning Sinatra died to see if it was for sale-it was not. The car had a pretty neat sales folder-shaped like a record album. The car also still had the EFI and ran great. What a grand car!
  17. Still here Barney, just don't have as much time to post. Times have changed-I first started buying Reattas when they were new and damaged from the salvage pool and ordering the parts new from Buick. Now if I see one that is hit hard it gets parted out instead of fixed. My brother's four kids all have Reattas and were their first car as well-great looking driveway! My 4 kids also have a Reatta, though they are just starting to drive. (And the youngest wants an Allante instead, but that is not going to happen). All in all, I would bet my family has over 1,00,000 miles in Reattas, and almost all were trouble free. How many cars can say that?
  18. 1989 red with red moldings and grey interior. No options. Vin 5828. Was in the junkyard in Brockton, MA. Don't know why as it was in great shape. I managed to get a lot of parts off of it before it was crushed-it never made it into the yard as it was too old, I just happened to see it in line for the crusher.
  19. As stated, there were 2-3 very specific cars used to pace the race. Then there were Festival Cars. These were available to local race officials, drivers, important people, etc. These may or may not have been the model car that was pacing the race, but the same company. There were even some Pace Trucks used as support vehicles for the race. lastly, there were the replicas sold through various dealerships that looked like the original pace car but often not the same powertrain. Over the years companies offered the replicas for sale through the dealership network. Just go on ebay and look under "pace car" and you will see a lot of them. Some. like the 69 Camaro had something that only the pace car had-in this case an orange houndstooth interior. Some like the 78 Vette had specific color schemes, such as the two tone grey/silver. In 86, a yellow Vette paced the race, but Chevy proclaimed every Vette in 86 to be a pace car replica, and had decals available for every car. Still others were regular cars that just had lettering added to it. often, the lettering was removed and nobody knew it was a Festival Car. I own one of these, an Allante that was a festival car from the 1992 race. It came from indiana and still has the lettering. Here is a pic:
  20. Fort Lewis? I spent 3 years back in the early 70s stationed there. This was the return point from Nam for many troops. Was there 3 months before I saw Mt Rainier for the first time. Walked out of the PX and stopped short-first day without rain and overcast and I could not believe what a beautiful mountain right in front of me!
  21. Here is what was done on the Allante forum: http://66.34.30.72/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=talk;action=display;num=1173153093 Why couldn't this be done here as well?
  22. They are also the same as the trunk pull down motors in the 80s early 90s Lincolns-just changed mine last weekend What year Allante? I have an 89, 91, and a 93.
  23. I have an 89 and the last 4 digits of the vin are 2001. It has a plate on the dash with the owner's name on it that says 89-300. What is this, and what do the numbers mean? thanks
  24. I have an 89 and it has the EVS alarm. The car won't start because of the alarm-sometimes I hit the button on the remote and the doors unlock and it starts, sometimes it doesn't. There is also a valet button on the dash. Could someone please tell me how this all works, and what is the valet button with the green and red lights for? Thanks
