  1. Hit a pothole and it cracked in half. Anyone have a good one?
  2. I just bought an 89 from an estate sale with 26K miles on it, a one owner car. I used a jumper box to start it as the battery was bad. Everything worked fine, and I was able to drive it home. I just changed the battery, and now the engine won't turn over. The lights work, I can hear the brake pump work, but nothing from the engine-almost like a bad neutral safety switch. I tried shifting (automatic) through the gears holding the key in case it was the neutral safety, but no luck. There is a remote on the keys that says "Chrysler Motors EVS" with 2 buttons. Did I disable an alarm? Any help? Thanks
  3. Sorry to see the old brewery closed- I was stationed at Ft Lewis for awhile in the early 70s, and they used to give us the GI Tour-right to the tasting room. What ever happened to Ft Lewis? I thought once the 9th Inf Div left it was closed.
  4. These parts are from an Allante-I have both Reattas and Allantes. There is a thread on the Allante forum of some people who were ripped off by this guy, and others who were very satisfied. A stage 2 Allante is a 90.5 when a number of changes were made, most noticably the power top locks for the front of the top. This also changed for the optional hardtop (standard on the earlier cars) which makes it much more expensive. A stage 3 Allante is really just a 93 only, when there were a number of changes-most noticeably the Northstar engine. The elimination of the fake vent windows also meant a new change for the hardtop, and as so few were made with a hardtop in 93 these tops sometimes go for $5000 plus. The 93s are usually not referred to as stage 3, but just Northstar, unless you are talking about the hardtop only, then it is often called a stage 3 hardtop.
  5. Don't post often, but this one has my interest. I have 4 teenage kids and each one has a Reatta and my brother has 8 kids and his first 4 have licenses and three have a Reatta (the 2nd child bought a new Jeep after he served a year in Iraq-saved all his money while there. He and child #4 both joined the Reserves while a Junior in High School, did basic training between Jr. and Sr. year. My brother is a city cop and currently on tour #3 in Iraq as a CSM!) You are all missing the best part of the Reatta-no back seat. As a school administrator I have buried almost a dozen kids the last 30 years from car accidents (2 last year) and my brother has seen many more. Many were "hot rodding", especially from peer pressure in the back seat. My oldest niece's Reatta has well over 200K miles on her 88 with few problems, and of all the cars not one has had a problem other than routine.. I've had 44 Reattas, started buying them when they were brand new from the insurance salvage auctions. They also take a pretty good hit without injuries to the passengers. there are plenty of reasonably priced lower mile Reattas out there. And the best part is they will always retain some value if cared for.

  9. Here are some links for the pewter model of the Allante. Maybe researching these will answer questions about the maker of the Reatta model-too much of a coincidence that Reatta and Allante models came out in 88 and would not be made by the same company. One ad says "made by New England Craftsman". This may be Reed and Barton, a company only a few miles from me in Taunton, MA that does custom work such as this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Cadillac-Allante-Pew...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-ALLA...sspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/1997-Cadillac-Allant...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/1987-Cadillac-Allant...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. I saw an ebay ad for another vehicle for repro windshields, so I asked the seller about making repro ones for the Reatta. Here is the response: I see you are in MA, we use to own a company called Lo-Can Glass International which was family owned for 50 years and sold out in 2002. I started Prosource is 2004.. we probably sold close to 100 Reatta windshields over the years, used to sell at between $700- 850 ea until about 4 years ago. I know Pilkington LOF sells at $1800, we can probably sell for a few hundred less but still in the $1400 range which is crazy. We don't manufacture but work with several factories that can produce. The problem is because of the molding attached, a production run of 100 would have to be done at minimum with an investment of at least $25,000. My guess is it would take 3 years to make the money back.. just a guess. We have done similar projects before. If you can get 25+ presold we would look at doing it..don't mind keeping a lot of money tied up in stock but it would mean folks shelling out $500-700 ea for windshields. You would have to get a lot of owners to buy 1 to keep just in case... Richard ProSource Glass International Toll Free:877-345-2800 978-975-5400 Fax: 978-975-5300 100 people at $250 will equal the $25000 needed to get started, plus the mark-up the guy would need to make to do all this work. Think we can get 100?
  11. I have an 89 Reatta for sale for $600. White with maroon interior. 16 way seats. Interior in great shape. Had mild fender bender and parts were put back on but no effort was made to align them (Car is white, parts are white). I was going to make this a rear wheel drive car but bought a Northstar Allante insead. Plus, my daughter's 90 Reatta windshield was broken by my brother while he was remodeling the house, so I need the windshield out of the car-I can put the broken one in if you want it weather tight. Car ran great before the accident, but have not started or driven it since. I forget the mileage, but think it is about 134K. Car is in East Bridgewater, MA 02333-just south of Boston.
  12. My nephew was rear ended in his 88 Reatta the other day and it was totaled. The insurance company told him he could have it if he paid the tow from the tow lot (never heard of that happening before!). The entire rear and right quarter are damaged badly, so it's a parts car. I need the windshield for his sister's 88 (and another brother and sister also have Reattas!) but the rest is for sale-$400 come and get it. The car is located in East Bridgewater, MA 02333 just south of Boston. the left fog light was broken from the accident where he spun around, one rib from the grill is gone, but the lower bumper facia is not damaged. The car is black with a grey interior in decent shape-had suede seats but we swapped the out, the driver's seat has pulled stitching but not a rip. The dash pad has a split, but the rest is very good-everything works, runs great, has 108K miles. Decent matched tires, good wheels and hubcaps. All glass good-except windshield will be pulled (can put the cracked one in if you want it weather tight). No sunroof, forget if it has the 16 way seats. I drove the car to my backyeard without a problem-no rubbing of damaged parts. NO PARTS SOLD SEPARATELY! If you want pics, e-mail me at tbenvie@comcast.net and I will get them out this weekend.

    car phone

I found a complete cell phone from a Trofeao that was a factory unit-had a lot of components and was hoping to put it in a reatta some day. Another question-I have a Lincoln Mark VIII with a built in hands free analog ophone. Verizon would not renew it a few years ago because it was not analog. If I get a calling card, could I still make calls?
  14. I am still interested in this car-I live just south of Boston. Call me at 508 378-1423. Thanks
  15. have you sold this car yest? i am still interested. thanks
  16. I am interested in your car. Please send me your phone number or call me 508 378-1423. i live in east bridgewater. thanks
  17. I have 4 Allantes (one 93) and 7 Reattas (3 converts). There are positive and negatives to each, but for outright power you will not compare to a Northstar 93. They are incredible to drive. I like the top/boot mechanism of the Reatta so much better than an Allante, and the Allante dash looks dated compared to the 90/91 Reatta. However, you should know there is a great web presence for the Allante-it is club based (Allante.net) and has a discussion forum with a ton of help. They are also looking to add to the VIN database, have a few guys who specialize in parts cars, a few very knowledgeable guys who help with problems, to include some of the engineers of the car. Not better or worse than this site, but very helpful. There is also a quarterly publication. Not much help at all with a buy/sell forum though.
  18. Still have 4 coupes, e converts
  19. Still have a red 90 convert and another white with maroon interior convert. I will be around all weekend except I coach basketball for an hour sat and Sun. Call 508 378-1423. thanks
  20. I have an 89 that turns over and won't start. Is there a way to check codes to see what the problem is?
  21. Funny this shows up now. Just the other night I took a deposit on a 90 Reatta Convert with 76K miles. The car looks like this mileage, and the interior could easily pass for much lower mileage. The buyer e-mailed me to say there was a single carfax report showing 130K miles. The guy I bought it from insists it is original miles at 76K. I sold an AMC Spirit for my nephew on ebay a few months ago. This is a one owner car, complete with all paperwork since new. Has 40K miles, put on a few miles at a time-typical little old lady car. It was a base model car, with only the AM radio and power steering as options. The bad door hinge and worn carpet on the driver's side and the near mint rest of the interior seemed to verify low miles put on only a few at a time. The car sold for $600 so it was not like it was worth a ton of money with the low mileage or high mileage. The buyer backed out because carfax said over 100K. I have a 93 Lincoln Mark VIII that I bought as a total wreck from the insurance pool and fixed it. Shows up clean on Carfax. Are these just a few coincidences, or is this the norm? It has cost me the sale of 2 cars so far.
  22. If someone is interested I have an 88 and 90.5 Allante that are missing the interior, tires and wheels, and any good body panels that are headed to the scrapyard. The 88 has a good rear sheetmetal clip, and missing the engine top end. The 90.5 was hit front and rear but has 79K miles with a complete drivetrain. Still has all front and rear brake/suspension parts. They will be leaving a week from tomorrow (Nov 28) and are free if anyone wants to come and get them. Sorry, I will not remove any parts myself. Also have 2 89 Reattas that will also be heading to the scrapyard. One high mile white one and a red one with 70K miles and a bad tranny. No decent windshields, interior or body panels or wheels left but have complete drivetrains and suspension/brakes. Cars are in East Bridgewater, MA (just south of Boston). Call (508) 378-1423 or e-mail tbenvie@comcast.net
  23. You should check via the touch screen to see if the VIN of the computer matches the VIN of the car. There is a small "computer box" behind the glove box and there are some interchangeable chips there, one of which stores the mileage. Very easy to change and lower the mileage, but they are VIN matched.
  24. Just posted an ad on the Reatta site for 4 Reatta converts-all in great shape, but must sell due to a family emergency. $4500-$5500. Also 3 coupes and some Alantes. Thanks
  25. Must sell due to family emergency. 1989 red coupe with tan interior. About 80K miles. Damaged right fender, no hood or bumper assy. I changed the seats and dash with a 89 that had ripped seats and a crack on the dash. also swapped steering wheel. Never applied for a title. $600 firm-the windshield should be worth that. Call (508) 378-1423. Cars located in East Bridgewater, MA, just south of Boston. Also have some Allantes for sale if interested: 88 silver with maroon high miles but in real nice shape: $2500. 89 in beautiful shape-red with tan interior. $4000. 91 white with tan interior. Recovered theft but have all parts to fix. $3500. Some other parts cars cheap. Will NOT sell any Reatta or Allante parts separate so please do not ask.
