  3. The clock and cigar lighter were located on drivers side glove box door.
  4. I am interested in this part. 38 bucket. i am restoring a 38 BC you can message me at 517 294 7809
  5. Keith / Rondo, Thanks for the pics . i am currently working on a 38 BC P6 Canadian 25 inch block. i also ordered lines from inline tube. i am having difficulty with the kit . i forgot my car is Canadian vs American but didn't think that would be an issue except for the 25 inch motor. your pictures are invaluable as I had locations for Junction box wrong. i guess now that i have your pictures i can try again. the car when purchased had no brake lines. as guess that's par for the course. i could use a picture of the rear if possible. there is a bracket hanger in front of the rear drivers side tire that either supports the rubber brake hose or the fuel line. wondering if that line ,which is pretty long was used on a limo. my number is 517 294 7809. Sure would like to ask some questions. i am in Ludington MI. also need 38 headlight guts.
  6. Keith, I just want to say great post ! i picked up a 38 P6 BC in Ludington MI. it caught my brothers eye on the side of the road and know it is in my garage. Go figure lol! I am following your wiring issues although that part is a ways away as I am working on mechanical. I have found Canadian cars have differences from American Made. As you know the Canadian motor is 25 inch's vs American 23 inch. after taking my motor in for overhaul found the block was cracked in the water jackets and the head was cracked. got lucky finding a Canadian Block and head. It just happened too be stamped made in 1938. So it was bored to a 238 cu inch. I added dual exhaust and dual carbs through a guy George Asche in PA. another 40 HP as he also beefed up the cam slightly. a question to you or anybody is why a car in a northern state would have little rust on it ? maybe Canada does not use salt on there roads ? i see your car is virtually rust free. mine is not quite as nice but not far off regarding rust. how the car ended up in Ludington MI I may never know. I do have question regarding Gauges which in my opinion is one of the eye catching parts of the car. too cool. may I call you with questions ? my number is 517 294 7809. if you could PM me your number I will give you a call. Thanks Tim
  7. yes that looks like them. do you have 2 of them ? what would be your asking price? my phone is 517 294 7809 which you can message me on. I can also call you. Thanks Tim
  8. just wondering if there is a better Master Cylinder that replaces the stock one, same location, on my 38 p6 ?
  9. I have a nice 1937 plymouth pasenger fender in prime and right and left rear fenders. Message me at 517 294 7809 I also have the engine hood
  10. I have a P6 B coupe made in Windsor Canada body number 486 which would have been a early production run 38 business coupe. It has a 218.06 motor with a 3.375 bore. I have a 25 inch long block. The motor is stamped Truck motor. My question is when did Windsor start producing 218.06 motors? I heard the factory opened in summer 38. If that is true where did Windsor Canada get there motors for there pre 218 factory 38's ? I may be the only one known who has a 38 Windsor business coupe. Since they were sworn to put 218's in there 38's where did they get them from? Canadas 218's had 3.375 bores? Who made my motor? I need to have it bored and the crank ground so I need prats and the correct information. Thanks' Tim
  11. I just purchased a 1938 P6 that was made in Windsor. I imagine the car was sold to a Canadian citizen when new. Who would l talk to about the history of the Windsor factory? Canadian cars seemed to have different options, color codes Engines etc. My email is tmtalaskanmalamutes@gmail.com
  12. Members 0 2 posts My Project Cars:1938 P6 Delux Business Coupe Report post #27 Posted just now The Plymouth motor in 1938 that was made in Canada was a 218. They decided to make only one motor for economic reasons. they could not support making a 201 and a 218. They went with a 218 25" because they could use that block for a larger variety of engine offerings. I have not confirmed it yet but the 218 in Canada did not get up to production until January 2018. that means the USA sent 218 truck motors to Canada to augment P6 production until there 218 line was up and running in January 2018. I have a early 38 P6 Deluxe coupe with a 218 truck motor which was made in Windsor. I need to find a similar production run Car that has a 218 truck motor built in it before January 1938 to confirm. From what I read all Canadian motors were 218 at least at the start of production in 1938. FYI my car has a block heater. my engine number is T584753. The casting numbers are 10-13 and 666029-2. It was the 496 P^ made off the line and if 10-13 is what I think it is then the motor was made in the USA on 10-13 -37 and shipped to Windsor to be installed in my car. Quote Edit
  13. Well, there is quite a list l have found . I will stick with the motor which is a 1938 Truck motor made in the USA. You would think somebody switched the motor since Canada made the 217 and ID on this block indicates built in USA. Interesting point is the block has a block heater for cold weather starts. Canada equals cold weather. Was the car ordered with that block heater from the USA and shipped to Canada for installation? Did they offer block heaters only for truck motors? Did they only install motors with block heaters in the USA? I would have to check to see if a car engine casting had a hole for a block heater or just USA truck blocks? Canada Built there own 25 inch 217 not the 201. All Canadian cars in 1938 were 217 not 201. Weird. I think my motor is original and was ordered with a block heater which came from the USA. Cant prove it though. Then we can get into color codes. My car is Maroon. No USA code shows maroon. Canada had there own color chart. Anyways looking closer l have the Mahogany looking dash. There were options that came with that dash which l havent quite put together yet because Canada did things different. I am assuming since the car had a block heater a actual heater that defrosted and kept you warm came with the car. I found although it was advertised you had to pay $5 extra to get the heater. Oh Dummy me thinking cars back then had turn signals.
  14. Wayne from Plymouth Doctor and wife stopped by in Ludington on ther way to Traverse city MI to see the 38 Business coupe. Of course he brought some much needed parts with him . He went through every question and just new everything there is to know. He had great car stories and is a wealth of knowledge about Plymouth History. My brother Jack and myself enjoyed and appreciated the time they took to stop and chair there charm and expertise.
  15. Need to get a set of front leaf springs for my 38. Any suggestions where to buy ? Mine broke on passenger side. I see Advanced auto has some relatively inexpensive from Dorman.

  17. Well the car was built in Canada which from sources who have told me they did things different. Also possibly it was repainted. Thanks for your reply.
  18. My 38 plymouth color code is 1736 which l can not find. It is currently Maroon but may have been repainted. Auto color Library and Paint ref .com does not show
  19. Well dummy me or lucky me. <G> was talking with Wayne Brandon , great guy, looking for parts and found he is very involved with the Plymouth club. My car was appraised as a 1937 and that's what the title says but Wayne's checking found it turns out be a 1938 deluxe coupe P6 B CPE. We also found out the car was made in Windsor Canada. I guess Canada added a little more info on there tags then the cars built in the USA. Anyways the serial number gave us the Canadian connection. Guess l will have to figure out what deluxe means but the word sounds good . Sorry to lead all down the wrong path. My nick name is two times Tim. Guess it fits. Lol!
  20. The car was appraised to be a 37. Worth $6500. Money was not the issue as I know I will have more into it then probably what its worth. I don't care honestly. I do but I don't if that makes sense to anybody. I have the VIN and another tag on the car. Don't know if those will tell you the year. The guy selling it at first said it was a 1938 so after Keith's post I am inclined to think it is a 1938. As far as extra cars it could be a good idea. Honestly i am all about new parts. the body will be ok as is except for front floor section and Rockers. Frame has been coated with something black. Could be POR 15 except it looks like who ever did it added saw dust to the paint. I am lucky in the fact my wife does upholstery work and is exceptional. I will take some more detailed pictures and post. spent most of the time since Friday Gawking at it, figuring out it is missing a lot and will work on my wallet some. 71 Grand Prix with 72 Cutlass Supreme 455 and 1968 Century 19' Resorter 440. Thanks
  21. The car is completely Stock. The original owner couldn't bring himself to hot rod it and neither will I . Basically I need a book showing where everything goes fire wall ,dash and wiring which is not my best suit. I have all the body parts except running boards which I can fab if I can find a brake. Thanks for your reply.
  22. What is the best manual repair and body to buy for a 37 Plymouth coupe. Looks like they are remaking the original ?
