also the 1957 service manual lists a torque spec (7- 10 ft. lbs.) when installing strainer with new rubber o'ring (as Adam said) over tightening may break flange loose in tank.

While the oil pan is off, I would suggest to plastigauge the main bearings.

Thanks John,
What model 1955 Buick do you have, I thought I saw one of you earlier posts after you had your 1956 Century painted? My friends car is a 1955 Super 4-door sedan
Supers and Roadmasters 4-door sedan uses a different clip than other series for 1955.

Trying to help a BCA member in need of lower clips for for back window reveal moulding, he has already purchased some clips from CARS that said they should fit, but they do NOT.
Buick master parts book lists Group #11.209 clip, back window reveal moulding part #4657731 for upper and side clips (I have a AU-VE-CO catalog and they have conversion of OEM part number to AU-VE-CO # 2628) looks similar
and part #4657805 for the lower clip (BUT next line under part number: Emerg. use?)
If anyone has a photo of lower clip could you please post it?
@Pete Phillips would you have these part numbers?
I will post photos of original clips and AU-VE-CO clip
Recently I thought someone on the forum was selling used and NOS front and rear window moulding clips for 1955 or 1956 Buick's.
Thank You in advance for any help or suggestions,
Bob
EDIT:the clip that was cleaned with wire brush is pieced together and is the lower clip
the rusty one is used on the top and sides

My radiator shop measured my heater core, in his book found same size and unsoldered my one tank where heater valve attaches and put my tank onto new heater core worked like a dream for me

If @drhach views this post he might be able to shed some light as he has been working on his 1942 Special carburetor and fuel pressure issue.

Just some thought of mine
if heat is issue with metal fuel line, shielding it on bottom with rubber split hose will keep some heat in
Perform test with about 12 wooden cloths pins (wood will pull some heat from metal fuel line) and attach as many clothes pins as possible on metal fuel line under hood area
Road test and see if any change
I checked Buick master parts book and only listing is tank, straps, and bolts, NO other parts
but bolts listed different part number starting at 1941 and same number fits up to 1949

I have several tools I've forgotten what they do and have surely used them for things they weren't intended to do. Hey, I knew when I bought them...
Glenn, I am in the same boat as you, last week I went through just 1 drawer on my tool box and had several tools I should have remembered what they were for and I drew a blank, as you stated I new I needed them when I purchased them lol.

Hi Bob
It is in the February 1993 issue, I believe you can still buy this issue from Collectable Automobile.
Steve
Thanks Steve @FireballV8 I purchased and received today my copy
Frank Tallarico’s Wagon looks that great today as it was in the magazine
Amy his daughter allowed me to drive his Buick Wagon to his funeral service and another BCA member and friend drove his 53 Cadillac, we parked them facing each other at the entrance
I know Frank was looking down from Heaven smiling

1963 Buick Master Parts book lists:
Group # 6.331 Collector, front wheel static brass spring under wheel cap for radio suppression part # 7276381 (fits 1961 thru 1972)
If you want one here it is, as @JohnD1956 stated you don't need one : https://www.2040-parts.com/nos-gm-accessory-7276381-static-collector-set-gm-corvette-bloomington-i2207032/
Bob
EDIT: if you look at page 7-16 in Buick service manual see Figure 7-8 - front wheel hub and bearings, look closely at dust cap and inside dust cap you can see collector

As @EmTee said change condenser
look at and file ignition points also
did you touch ignition coil when acting up to see if is hot, and did you measure resistance on ignition coil

Is the flap/valve stuck closed in the snorkel of air cleaner tube not allowing air to carburetor?
Bob
EDIT: OR flat/valve stuck open all the way to much air when cold engine

@FireballV8 I did not know Franks 1955 Buick Wagon was in a magazine, do you possibly know what year and month Collectable Automobile Magazine it was in, as now I will be on a quest to find a copy of it for myself?
Thanks Steve in advance,

I think that would be a good place to start
