  1. That unfinished engine sure looks out of place in that otherwise wonderful old car. Love the dash.
  2. Under the circumstances I would leave it the color it came from the factory. Under other circumstances I would have bought a hardtop. 😁
  3. If from here to there is over 20 miles I'd much rather travel in this Chevrolet.
  4. It's amazing that it has survived in that good of shape. Most of those were real rust magnets. Price seems very fair.
  5. After Neil's comment I had to go back and look at the car again. Just doesn't seem that either color would work appropriately. I think John has the right idea. The convertible kind of clashes with the cars lines.
  6. Nice to see one without the continental kit hanging on the back.
  7. I'm in the same complexion bracket as her. Definitely overcast travel for me. I don't know if I'd be comfortable setting back there at this point in my life. There is something about owning a coupe with a rumble seat that seems like it would be fun.
  8. I'd love to see the before and after photos of this restoration.
  9. Being a bit of an odd duck I find the Franklins to be a vehicle that would be fun to own. Having owned a Corvair and several older VW's the idea of an air-cooled engine is desirable. The only down side I can see to it is the plain Jane dash. Looks like they ran out of ideas when they got there. The rest of the car is nice.
  10. From what can be seen the trunk lid is fine. The fact the the bumper is pushed in and up at the impact point makes things look out of alignment.
  11. It's surprising being a dealer that the photos are limited to the outside of the car.
  12. Talk about something that will roll coal. Those old Mercedes diesels were low on power and long on black smoke. When I was a kid I can remember seeing them leaving an intersection and smoking like crazy. Someone aught to by this just to drive Ralph Nader nuts.
  13. This would make someone a nice basic transportation vehicle if the price was 4 to 5 thousand dollars cheaper. Odds are there is no power steering or brakes and probably no air-conditioning.
  14. Thanks Jeff but I've got my hands full with what I have. If it was all there it would make someone a nice starter project.
  15. I think the name of the stuff I used was Mar-Hyde. According to the Garage Journal 3M bought them out and that was the end of the spray vinyl dye. They do mention the name of another company. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/what-happened-to-mar-hyde-vinyl-dye.356384/
  16. Just a heads up, there are a lot of street rods and muscle cars on that sight.
  17. I could have used one of those under the Barracuda but can't recall ever hearing of them.
  18. The folks 63 Dart wagon was black with red interior and I still don't like it. The black is hard to keep clean and all the red was too much of a good thing. The car was bullet proof though. The 63 1/2 Fords were beautiful as far as I was concerned. The 64's not so much so. Install the wheel skirts and the cars look very heavy.
