  1. No one passed anyone. We stopped and I got blocked in so restarted in a slightly different order.
  2. Yes, in some pictures my Jag has a hood ornament and in some it does not. When I leave it unattended in a parking lot, I replace the hood ornament with a flat radiator cap. In this instance, I forgot to reinstall it before hitting the road.
  3. The yellow & green is a 1932 LaSalle. Owners live in Key Largo, FL, but summer in ME. Rain let up this a.m., but more coming. Supposed to be nice for tomorrow. The brown Packard is unrestored original. A few minor hiccups, but cars otherwise running extremely well...including mine. The black 1940 Caddy with yellow stripe was driven over 250 miles to get here from Goshen, NY. It's mostly original showing 36k on the odometer. I was following the 1925 Caddy back to the hotel yesterday. It was comfortably running between 50-55.
  4. Not far from the starting line for this year's Great Race, the New England CCCA Region is hosting a tour and show on Cape Cod. Unfortunately, the show day is Saturday...same day as the Great Race start. We saw several of the Great Race cars on trailers as we came from Florida. Nice tour day for the 26 Full Classics yesterday in and around Cape Cod and Plymouth, MA. Rainy last night, this morning, and forecast for all day. Rain probably not good for the Great Racers. Pictures of our event below and more to follow in the next several days.
  5. AJ, Good luck to you and your team in the Great Race. No doubt you're going to have a blast and will create a brand-new lifetime of memories. I'm sure all AACA and CCCA members will be riding along with you in their hearts and minds. Can you tell us about your entry? Pictures? Regards, George
  6. West, I'm leaving 0-dark-30 this Sunday morning, headed to the CCCA Pilgrim Grand Classic Mini-Tour on Cape Cod, 15-19 June. I've got reservations at the Hampton Inn in Kutztown, PA for Monday evening, 13 June. I'll be coming up I-81 and pick up I-78 at Ft. Indiantown Gap. I'll be driving an Escalade, flat-towing my 1947 Jaguar. Will this schedule help? What parts do you need moved? Email me directly: gtcole@peoplepc.com. George
  7. Speaking for yourself perhaps, but certainly not me. I haven't bought a pack of smokes since I was a young, foolish teenager, many, many, many Moons ago. Now as I'm fast-approaching becoming a senile old man, I spend money on car and bike parts and an occasional bottle of cheap wine for the wife to improve my looks and her temperament.
  8. Any luck? Did Universal have the tires you need?
  9. Hey Steve, I probably will shortly. For now it's been an exercise in frustration working some of the bugs out and getting it dependably operable...which it still isn't. I've been getting a lot of help from fellow Mark IV owners (there aren't many,) on the Jag-Lovers Forum. We're at the Wheels Over the Pond show in Jupiter today. Regards, George
  10. VictoriaLynn, you might also want to plan spending a day at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center. It would be another day well spent. Lots of info about it on line, as well. Regards, George
  11. Hey AJ. Sorry our paths didn't cross. I left Cocoa Beach headed south at 7:30 yesterday morning. Didn't hit rain until past Jupiter. I arrived at the museum at exactly 10:30. The rain water I drove though at the end of the street by the railroad tracks was easily over a foot deep. By the time I left around 2:00 p.m., rain had stopped and the streets were dry and bare.
  12. Hey VictoriaLynn. Sorry to hear about your daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and her. Its so sad that several seconds of misfortune can turn multiple lives upside down forever. A year or so ago a new car museum opened on the north end of International Drive in Orlando called Dezerland. It's definitely worth the visit. I put a thread about it with pictures under the Museums Forum. Along with it is the display of Mr. Dezer's James Bond collection, which is definitely worth seeing as well. Regards, George
  13. Looks can be deceiving, and pictures don't necessarily tell a thousands words. Where's all the rain in the picture? It was pouring like a cow p*zzin' on a flat rock when I pulled into Ed's courtyard yesterday morning.
  14. Looks like Universal's got 650x20 white walls and black walls in stock. A bit pricey, but... Universaltire.com.
  15. Not funny. I did that once...thankfully with an empty tank. Relatively inexpensive and easy repair, but still, you're laying on your back under the damn thing, playing with poopy pipes.
  16. Does it have a bar and a stage with a stripper pole?
