  1. No information on condition but it looks like a good deal! (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/hildale-1965-corvair/7681933483.html# Garage kept, 1 owner. 39,000 original miles. Beautiful car. Grandpas car. $8500 obo. Call jack at(435)313-4711 if interested.
  2. Was "Brothers" still in the name in '29? The Silver Dome has a lower compression 6 cylinder flathead so certainly not the first Hemi. This 4 cylinder is an improved version on the Maxwell 4. I do think it's a neat and usable vehicle! https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/emmett-1929-dodge-delivery-van/7677792419.html 1929 Dodge Brothers Bread Truck. Frame off restoration. 4 cylinder flat head "Silver Dome", so this is really an early Hemi. 3 speed, 4 wheel hydraulic brakes. Runs well. This truck came out of La Pine, Oregon in the early seventies and a complete restoration was completed around 2000. Also included is a separate 6 cylinder with 4 speed (needs to be rebuilt) and numerous boxes of spare parts. This truck has been driven on several tours, but total mileage on restoration is easily less than 5000 miles. $22,500.00 OBO...A restoration like this can NOT be done for the price of this van! This has fantastic potential for a mobile advertisement for your small business. "Hostess Cake" decal is easy on and off transparency. (208) 963-1181

  5. Back on CL at $19,900 but now they say they will take best offer. I'm sure they will feel they have given their dad's wonderful car away when it finally sells. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/santa-rosa-1931-plymouth-pa-thrift/7681310357.html email: 5e699a433097334198c3e32bd20ffac7@sale.craigslist.org
  6. I understand! I lived in the small mountain town of Truckee CA when I was young. I would scrape ice from the windshield pretty much September through May and there was one year that I only had to mow the lawn once!
  7. They will steal anything. back in the 80's they stole my Ford Escort!
  8. I'll let the Buick group comment on the price and details, but it sure looks nice! (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/union-city-1938-buick-special/7680017438.html 1938 Buick Special dual side mounts Straight 8 3spd shifts smooth Frame off restoration New tires Everything was gone through Have all documentation of build Chrome is nice Runs and drives smooth!! 9. I love that it's Model ONE ! That Olds 3 port head was used to hop up 4 cylinder Chevys. I take care of a very similar '25 Chevy that belongs to the city where I live. 1925 was the first year for a valve cover but (just like the Olds) you have to oil the rockers before each use and all that oil has nowhere to go but the street. When you think that most roads at that time were still dirt once you got out of downtown, it must have been a huge mess!
  10. I'd be afraid if I did that it might undo all I'd done that day.
  11. I have a lot of PhDs in my family...this Pyramid is upside down (except for the carburetor experts) . Most PhDs see life through the soda straw of their very specialized education. When I was a kid we owned a small boat with another guy from my father's work. He was a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He never could get the outboard to start... my father had to help him.
  12. Certainly a rare year... (if true) more pics in ad https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/hercules-1942-cadillac-barn-find-great/7678649668.html 1942 Cadillac 62 4 door. Pulled out of a SF garage after being parked 40 years ago. At the time fuel drained. And placed on blocks. New Fuel pump, tires, plugs wires, runs and drives great. Last pre war cadillac. Interior is original and amazing. (510) 367-1701
  13. Neat and interesting car...no radiator I guess...it might be significant that there are no engine pictures.
  14. Yes! A lot of good stuff! The Seller needs to call it something other than 1970 and put it on a better place like HAMB.
  15. My '59 Triumph TR-3A had a crank hole in the grill and a crank in the tool kit.
  16. Wow! I know about a similar one in Northern Sweden, but this is fancier!
  17. I've been struggling with from two sides. I would be better if I didn't have to just remember which book case in which room held what I'm looking for but also automotive libraries can be a part of your estate, and you don't want your kids to just toss them or give them away. I don't have any really valuable ones, but there are a handful that would be over $100 each to replace. I see libraries sell on BAT for thousands. The problem is; to actually catalog them is a daunting task and no fun at all!
  18. My problem is that the fall would because by sudden lack of consciousness, and the worry would be wacking something solid in the process. Happened last year when I got up in the night. Fortunately I made a gentle landing on the wooden floor, but I cleaned off the wife's vanity on the way down. It made it very difficult for her to get back to sleep. I was reading about smart watches last night...some do have a fall detection feature.
  19. Must be about the last of Maxwell...it actually looks a little Chryslerish.
  20. As a result of a recent incident in the garage, my family is after me to get some sort of gizmo that will alert them if I fall. I think we've all seen the commercial "I've fallen and I can't get up!"...some of my friends now have smart watches that apparently can detect a fall and sent an alert to whom- ever (perhaps executor of your estate?) Just wondering if anyone has experience with this type of thing they'd like to share. My problem isn't balance, it's occasional near black-outs due to low blood pressure.
  21. I always wonder about these Spanish place names...Modesto...it does remain a pretty modest town. It's just south of Manteca, which is lard. Perhaps that was a good thing at the time..."Fat City"?
