  1. If you aren't up for a $30K plus, pickup and are looking for a project, I've certainly seen worse! (more pics in ad) https://eugene.craigslist.org/cto/d/eugene-international-1948-kb/7735871133.html I purchased this truck 6 years ago. The previous owner had it 40 years. My son got it running, although not functioning brakes at the time. He did all new brake lines and new master and slave cylinders. The original bench was not salvageable, the current bench is just a temporary fix. The cab, bed have an international plate indicating internationally made. There were models where the truck bed was built by a different maker. The color is apple red, it is a double clutch. I have a bill of sale. The mileage may be accurate. The owner before me ran it for a bit and then parked it. email: f04fc3e70e053525b766535737aaec5a@sale.craigslist.org
  2. These really are a nice design. That fan belt around-the-corner design always seemed a bit Rube Goldberg, but I believe it worked OK. The design is also similar to the Type34 Karmann Ghia (never imported)
  3. Seems like a pretty decent driver and the dealer seems reasonable. More pics and text in ad. https://bend.craigslist.org/ctd/d/redmond-1955-packard-patrician/7735029921.html This is a beautiful luxury car that has a ton of potential. Powered with a fresh 374 V-8 and a twin-altramatic transmission. The overall condition in my opinion is stellar. It will need to have the brakes done, headliner and some paint work. We have found no rust issues. We always highly recommend a professional inspection, or a private viewing before any purchase. Make sure you know exactly what you are buying. Please call Ross (541)420-1448 I will be please to assist in the shipping for purchases out of the area. Asking $4,900.00 Please call me 541-420-1448 Oregon Dealer # 1522
  4. I had a very similar '46 circa 1990. it was a fun and useable "classic". I think the trend toward high priced trucks makes them far less useful. Would you want to pick up a load of steer manure after paying $38K? I have a nephew that just went to work for a local startup that will sell you a slightly later Chevy pickup for only $159,000. There a a couple of companies resto-modding Broncos and similar vehicles at close to twice this price and they have waiting lists! https://kindredmotorworks.com/models/kindred-chevy-3100/city-cruiser
  5. By '67 they had a gizmo that injected a little oil into the gas as you drove and smoke was greatly reduced. The earlier cars needed the oil to be mixed with the gas at fill-up, which made them dual purpose: transportation and Mosquito abatement.
  6. I spent a year in a tank battalion and went to Germany for Reforager in 1974. I remember a German driver in a VW bluffed one of our tanks off the road! They were aggressive!!! A jeep on the Autobahn was quite an experience.
  7. If it ends up at an estate auction, it could be an opportunity! Here's the ad text: Listing ahead of future estate sale, Dodge Brothers 1928 Victory Sedan that’s halfway restored with a frame refinished and powder coated, new flathead engine, a ton of new parts, refinished wooden wheels, tires, and a ton more. This antique car once finished, will be very nice and will last for another 100 years. It hasn’t been registered since the 50s, the body is in decent shape has some surface rust but no holes or damage, so theoretically could be put back together as is but it’s ready to be fully restored now. Over $12k in parts and work has been invested. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to so I am listing it to gage interest.
  8. Forgot to add that Martin did tell me the Argentinians had changed the gearbox and attempted to restamp the engine engine number. I have no personal knowledge of either car, but the car in your picture looks different than the one in mine. Old racing cars are pretty squishy when it comes to authenticity.
  9. I'm not so sure we are talking about the same car. Both Chryslers with the number 14, but otherwise dissimilar. https://www.fantasyjunction.com/sold/1932-chrysler-indycar/overview
  10. Looks really nice, but is any '47 DeSoto worth $27K? https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/forest-falls-1947-desoto-custom/7740205742.html 1947 DeSoto Custom Club Sedan 2 d. 11. It's amazing how rare these are today, given that their sales were not that far behind Ford in period. This has a '28 motor, which is a big upgrade. Probably still overpriced given condition. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/napa-1921-chevy-pickup-truck/7740840248.html 1921 chevy pickup truck 490 model. Had been sitting in a barn for a very long time. (707) 696-0615
  12. An interesting car...doesn't seem like they have the following of Chrysler's T&Cs https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/salinas-1948-chevy-fleetline-country/7740911595.html 948 Chevy Fleetline. Original dealer option Country Club. Woody. (Not an aftermarket kit). I acquired it from the second owner who purchased it in 1968. Mostly original. Runs perfectly, no smoke, no leaks, rebuilt carburetor, original drivetrain with 6 CYL 216 and 3 speed manual transmission Sorry, no trades. located in Salinas CA (831) 210-2751
  13. I think this did happen with some regularity. I remember Martin Swig had a '32 Chrysler Indy car that had made it's way to South America and back.
  14. Assuming they can be a bit flexible on the price, this looks like a reasonable project. https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/genoa-1941-pontiac-dr-sedan-silverstreak/7740352208.html Not Running Good Restoration Project Complete car, 6 cylinder all chrome Things that have been done: carburetor Radiator Generator fuel pump plugs wires coil points, rotor Things needed Clean fuel tank clean carburetor master cylinder timing Extra parts 2 carburetors 1 new fuel pump tune up parts 35 years in the garage Please call Bob at 775-267-2884
  15. I guess they decided '37 was too late for the tommy gun, so they went with the moonshine runner and window cooler. Looks like a decent car underneath the embarrassing "accents" . Lots more pics but zero info in the ad! https://redding.craigslist.org/ctd/d/chico-1937-plymouth-p4-deluxe-business/7740426875.html (530) 894-2886
  16. The ad mentioned rust due to being at the coast (Santa Cruz). You can't see it in the pictures but probably smaller chrome pieces are the main victims. Still seems a great price for a '51 Caddy driver. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/corte-madera-1951-cadillac-series-62/7740628160.html email: d2a22f4906af32d3b3fed8ae3e4581b8@sale.craigslist.org
  17. Boy, is this guy confused! Certainly not an Aston Martin, and not an Austin either. Standard Flying 12.
  18. We've sure seen worse for more. I wonder about wood in the body.... NO INTERIOR pics...likely no interior.
  19. I remember when they used to say "I bet Bill Harrah would buy that".
  20. Still for sale which I find interesting since it seems like a pretty fair deal! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/el-sobrante-1940-cadillac-lasalle-sedan/7739221980.html
  21. Here's the site you want to become familiar with: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/
  22. "It has the look of a car that had some restoration done in the early days of the hobby" I had a book on restoration I bought in the 70's that said something like "if there is a problem with upper sheet metal, just remove it and make a fair weather tourer" Restoration clearly had a different meaning to many people in those days.
  23. What a beauty! I love the color! I imagine the driving experience would be very nice. I know the parked in front of your house experience would be!
  24.
