  3. Does anyone one have a recommendation for a plater in California? I have a bunch of small parts and the place I used 15 years ago is no longer around, Thanks!
  4. I was just going to mention that wonderful Diesel! I lived near Donner Summit (7200 ft) when they were new. I remember they struggling up the hill with a black plume behind them!
  5. I like it. I'd like it a lot more with a Studebaker engine, but I could live with this...
  6. When I search, I filter for pre- 1954 to avoid being swamped with tri-five Chevys and later stuff. Just looking at the local CL at the moment, it shows 141 cars in that bracket. Of those, 39 were hot rods and 36 were trucks. I'd love to post older stuff...it just doesn't come up! If I see it, I always post it!
  7. At one point my my brief military career, I was in charge of a motor pool at Ft. Riley KS, supporting a ROTC summer camp. We have lots of different vehicles, including a couple of 1969 Ford LTD staff cars. They were a great place to hold meetings...they had A/C!
  8. That sleeve valve engine is a fascinating piece, too bad it looks so ordinary on the outside! I never understand why people don't spend a couple of hundred dollars and get a vehicle like this at least "yard driving". It would make a huge difference in selling it!
  9. Lots more blather in the ad and more pictures...certainly looks like it could be saved https://sierravista.craigslist.org/ctd/d/sierra-vista-1928-buick-country-club/7740133750.html. Step Right Up, Folks, and Feast Your Eyes on the 1928 Buick Country Club Coupe – The 1928 Buick Country Club Coupe has rolled onto the Richardson Motor Company lot, and it's a sight to behold Right now, she's a silent beauty – doesn't run and is missing her fuel tank, but don't you worry, there's a tank waiting in the wings among a treasure trove of parts that come with her. 10. Looks like a very nice example...The price on inherited cars often gets tangled up with the feelings from the person they came from. 11. I remember my father saying "the two stroke is like shearing a pig...there's a lot of noise, but not much else!"
  12. I don't know how much of a step forward the TF is from the TD, but based on my (limited) experience, I'd say that in a straight line, the main difference driving a T series MG and a Model A is in the A you sit higher! (Way different when you turn the steering wheel of course)
  13. If this is the same car (not at all sure), someone has done A LOT of work. Also, now in Texas, before it was just south of Phoenix.
  14. Price would be pretty correct IF IT RAN. 16. $5K...I doubt there's a buyer for even a significant fraction of that price. Ad text: 1923/24 Franklin car is mostly complete. It is missing the front emblem. Front bumper is inside as you can see in the picture the engine is not stuck. It does turn over by hand. Here's a chance to get it before I make it a speedster I have an old title that goes with the car asking $5000 or best offer, located in southern California
  17. A project...I wonder how difficult wood replacement is? (more pics in ad) https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/tarzana-1955-mg-tf-1500/7739831570.html 1955 MG TF 1500. The last year of the classic MG style before the 1956 MGA. This car has been stored for 42 years. Solid CA car needing some of the wood replaced (available from Moss Motors for around $1500). Strong motor (55lbs oil pressure at idle). Runs and drives well. 4 speed. Good oil pressure (50lbs at idle see photo of gauge). Due to certain health issues I do not have the energy to continue saving this neat car. Clear California title in my name. $9750 You are welcome to visit in Tarzana just off the 101 freeway. Please call 818 705 8655 (land line/no texts).

  19. Great inexpensive start to a project. The first thing should be to return that pew to the church it was stolen from. https://boise.craigslist.org/cto/d/boise-1923-ford-model-speedster/7741481413.html 1923 Ford Model T Speedster project. It would be a great car to put back together. It comes with all the parts pictured. Needs a few parts like manifold and starter. Was running prior to taking some parts off to finish another car. Non running at the moment. It has new Kevlar bands installed. Clear title in hand. Cash only and no shipping. (208) 869-4674
  20. Makes you wonder if it's on someone else's property... I think we have a winner in the "worst pictures" contest for today.
  21. Interesting vehicle, and bound to attract attention at every Cars-and-Coffee! They list a price of $141,000 but that would only make sense if it were Russian Rubles, which Google says equals $1,530.86 https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/d/seattle-gaz-46-amphibious-soviet/7740756886.html If you are looking for something really rare and unique. GAZ 46 Amphibious is what you are looking for. Soviet beast that could drive on any typo of surface and if this is not enough for you this is also can swim! Great condition, fully functional. Located in Issaquah, WA Price: 141k email: 60eb40ec551c341684cbb2332e37150a@sale.craigslist.org
  22. Price of $20K not shown but $306 per month estimated payments on approval of credit. I know people do buy cars that way, but I shudder to think what the actual sum of the payments would be. It's why basic math education is so important! https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ctd/d/portland-1953-buick-riviera-special/7736239697.html Up to date on all services. Runs and drives perfect!
