  1. I think you are right for pre-war, but thinking of 50's Corvettes, it changed later.
  2. My Chevy knowledge ends at '28, but based on the many awards I think this is correct. Chevy was the bottom rung of the GM ladder.
  3. I'll let the resident Hudson Scholars weigh in on the price, but it's a very snappy hoopie! I have edited the ad copy and pics because we don't need the complete history of Hudson here.... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/campbell-handsome-1949-hudson-commodore/7508398994.html This original handsome 1949 Hudson Commodore 4door has a good straight body, nice start and smooth driving , The Hudson Commodore is the only classic car you step down into. 4. That curved glass divider is a very interesting touch! Not nearly as difficult to source in period (think of the windows in a Victorian Queen Ann's turret) than it would be today.
  5. Seems like we have a "motivated seller"! Here's the current ad: https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/rancho-cordova-l-s-i-a-mechanic-special/7508099301.html And the previous post with good info in the comments:
  6. So here's a VERY NICE car, an award winner, at what seems a fair price and it's been for sale for a month. 9. It's starting down the "resto mod" road, but fortunately, it only went one block. Wide whites on a truck go together like a shop coat and a top hat. (not at all) Many more pics on the ad https://santamaria.craigslist.org/cto/d/orange-1937-chevrolet-pickup-truck/7507279524.html 1937 Chevy pickup power by a Blue Flame inline six cylinder with upgrades, offenhauser intake manifold with dual GM carburetors, headers, 3 speed transmission, new radiator with electric fan, converted to 12 volt system.Exterior is finish in a beautiful Dark Blue over Black with a laser straight body no dents, pop out windshield, nice chrome bumpers, and grill, all new oak wood-bed, chrome fishtail exhaust tips.Interior Done in Dove Gray color vinyl bench seat, door panels, headliner, Black rubber lines the floor, original cluster with working gauges. 10. Not mine https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/washoe-valley-1939-cadillac-60-special/7507702075.html 1939 Cadillac 60 Special Project. This car has been in the family for 40 years. I acquired it in 2000 with the intention of doing a first class "off the frame" restoration. A lot of the work has been done but other interests do not make it possible for me to finish. This car has a very solid body. Hardly any dings. I took the body off down to the frame; sandblasted the frame; rebuilt the brakes and suspension. I had the engine rebuilt by a certified shop in Albuquerque and rebuilt the transmission. Engine and driveline and differential are reinstalled. The car rolls and steers. The radiator and fuel tank were cleaned by A-1 Radiator. I recently installed the body and doors to make it easier to haul. Front fenders, bumpers, headlights, hood, etc. are in good condition and ready to install. I have detailed restoration history, photos, repair manual, etc. The car is definitely in solid restorable condition. Call Rick (775) 225-9125
  11. Price reduced! Now $7,700. Seems that unlike some others, he really does want to sell. I think situations like this are what the young people call "triggers" ...they set off an emotional response and can cause you to go in the garage with a tape measure.... https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/rancho-cordova-antique-classic-years/7507556648.html
  12. Right O! I used to haunt Bring A Trailer, but as a recovering Porsche person, I have learned there is much more to life and I really like the community here.
  13. Great car... Durant is really forgotten today but Billy Durant is SO important in US automotive history.
  14. https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/gardnerville-1941-buick-roadmaster-sedan/7507237098.html Buick Series 71 Roadmaster Sedan.I have owned the Buick Roadmaster sedan since 2016. It’s a beautiful car, but now it is time to let it go.The previous owner bought the car in the 70’s and then began collecting parts at swap meets for the car’s restoration. The car received a total frame-off restoration in 1993 – 94 at Adams Custom Engines in Reno, NV. Everything was done to bring the Roadmaster back to its like-new showroom condition. The bottom of the car looks as good as the top. I have receipts for over $60,000 for the cost of the restoration. The car still looks great today. The paint color is Rainier Blue, a very dark shade of blue. It is often mistaken for black.I have boxes of spare parts that will go along with the purchase of the car. Also, I will include owner’s and shop manuals that are specific to the 1941 Buick year model. The Buick is all stock except for the wide whitewall radial tires, a 1949 320 cu. in. engine with insert main and rod bearings. The 1949 Buick engine is now setup with two primary Stromberg carburetors connected with dual linkage, the stock progressive linkage is discontinued. Also, a remote battery disconnect, and a back-up electric fuel pump have been added. Everything works like it should except for the radio and clock. The car is in Gardnerville, Nevada. Call Vic, if you are interested... (775) 691-8295
  15. Definitely "all the money" for one of these, but Wow! It really looks great! Could it be original? I'm not up on Post War Chryslers, but can it be both a Windsor and a Newport? https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/salinas-1950-chrysler-windsor-newport/7507288928.html Amazing Survivor, 1950 Chrysler Windsor Newport. Two Door Hardtop. Looks, Runs, and Drives Excellent. Pagoda Cream Exterior, Maroon Interior. New Wide Whitewall tires, plus spare. No Rust. All Lights and Gauges Work as New. Radio Works. Heater works. No Cracks in Steering Wheel. All Chrome and Stainless are in Excellent Condition. Windows are Perfect. Car is100% intact, Never Modified. Unbelievable Condition for a 72-Year-old Vehicle. Was Already 12 Volt when I took possession of the car. Flathead Six Engine, Fluid Drive Transmission that Shifts Great, only need the clutch to initially start to drive, then it drives like an Automatic. Out and up for Reverse, In and up for two lower Forward Gears, In and Down for two Higher Forward Gears, which is where I cruise it. 16. I used to live in the small mountain community of Truckee CA, near Donner Summit in the Sierras. I just checked and the local district still operates a 2 room school near the summit that is K - 5. In a big winter there could be drifts over the power poles, and the school busses have a special feature that drops crushed walnut shells on the rear wheels for traction. Those kids will all have good stories when they grow up.
  17. That horizontal rear widow could be hazardous in a collision!
  18. Henry J Kaiser was a real visionary! If you have health care through your employer, thank (or blame) him. He introduced as a recruitment incentive in his ship yards during WWII when the government did not him to raise wages.
  19. If you aren't looking for a showpiece, this might be a relatively easy project. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/cool-patina-1931-model-a-roadster.1268712/ Tons of cool! This roadster has spent its life since 1960 tucked away in a garage until 2015 and then an airplane hanger ever since. It has real, time earned patina and oozes with period awesomeness.Engine turns freely by hand and by starter. Currently no spark and haven't had time to put a spare coil on and mess with it.If someone is looking to restore I have virtually everything in nice original condition I would sell SEPARATELY. (I won't sell any parts until the car sells in case I end up keeping it).The car is exceptionally solid. There is no rot...even the exhaust is complete. The only damage I can find is what appears to be lead filler on the passenger door covering a dent that is peeling away (but I haven't really looked at it hard)I have the 1960 title to THIS CAR!!I'd love to get it running, put new tires on it, and tool around with it but I bought it in a package deal with a car I want to build and just don't have time.Would be great to do an AV8 build or just put together as is!Price isn't firm...starting somewhere.
  20. High price considering condition, but if you are a Hup Person, this might be of interest. https://stockton.craigslist.org/cto/d/stockton-1931-hupmobile-6cyl-coupe/7506340485.html 1931 Hupmobile 6cyl coupe, partially restored / partially disassembled. I purchased this car from a family that had it since 1946 - I have a title for the car but it was never changed over to the individual I bought it from. The prior owner in the mid 70's was going to restore the car, had the engine rebuilt (but never started), partially painted the car, has seats etc but the rest of the interior is undone. Wood is good except for one piece that is located below the bottom of the rumble seat lid. I have extra wheels, several boxes of parts including: wind wings, trunk, running board luggage holder, dome light, souple on manuals. To be honest I haven't gone thru the boxes completely. Car is worthy of restoration - just have too many other projects and I realize I'll never get to it. Can show on Saturdays. email: f9bc6dbf198739cf9b84f34282263650@sale.craigslist.org

  22. This could be a great start if you have knowledge of these. On the down side, it's WAY off the beaten track.
