  1. Please continue! Who makes fiberglass fenders for a '63 Lark?
  2. Just to clarify in case it's not obvious -- the pics I posted are of another car from the Barrett-Jackson auction site. I was just trying to show why I liked the styling and show the potential of the car offered for sale.
  3. I had the same experience with my '41. This tool will NOT work: This tool WILL work: https://www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/body/windshield-molding-door-handle-clip-pliers
  4. Glad to hear you wouldn't kick it out of the tent! 😄 And I think while lingering around a restored example, you might find the styling grows on you. Here's an example. I especially like the "speed line" down the center of the trunk. (However, I would have expected someone to have gotten the proper windshield wiper arms and blades before taking the picture!)
  5. "... would make a cool street rod." I always hate to see that in an ad. I hope someone preserves it. And I have to disagree with Jake. I've always like the styling of these models.
  6. If you've got this kind of money burning a hole in your pocket, this would be a worthy way to spend it! https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/buick/roadmaster/2056523.html?refer=saturday&utm_source=saturday&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2021-11-13
  7. Okay, thanks for the corrections. I mistakenly assumed that '40 and '41 would be the same.
  8. It may fit on your '40 248, but I'm pretty sure it's from an earlier year. Here's what the one on my '41 looks like.
  9. I believe this color scheme is Lancaster Gray over Monterey Blue, which was offered in '41. This car is similar to the car owned by our fellow forum member @valk, although his is a Roadmaster, of course.
  10. I agree with Greg, Suchan, and Auburn on the price. I think it just seems low because we are so used to people asking way too much. This seems like a reasonable price given the defects that have been mentioned. Also, as I said earlier, we have no idea at this point about what kind of mechanical condition it's in. But yes, it sure looks pretty and has potential for sure. Those correct red wheels with pinstriping, correct beauty rings, and hubcaps really help. Welding the rear fenders to the body seems like an odd choice and a bad idea given the tendency of the body to flex over time. Has anyone ever seen that before?
  11. I posted this in the "Not Mine" forum -- worth a look for anyone in the market for a '41 Coupe.
  12. This car looks like it has a lot of potential, although the write up is so limited now that we are given no details about mechanical condition beyond what the photos show. Offered by a consignment dealer who has some obvious inaccuracies on it site (like V8 instead of straight 8), but the car is certainly worth a look for anyone in the area. 1941 Buick Super 56S- Two Tone Paint- 248ci Twin Carb V8- Three on the Tree- Original Example- Mechanically Maintained by Steve's AntiquesJust in...full write up coming soon. https://www.garagekeptmotors.com/vehicles/2027/1941-buick-super-56s
  13. I have always had a soft spot for the Airflow, but I would prefer to find a '34 model before the original design was totally watered down to make it look more conventional. By '37, they had added not only a more conventional "prow," but also a bustle trunk. More practical, for sure, but not the radical experiment they had started out with. On the other hand, this one seems to be very well sorted, and the revised price certainly seems reasonable for what you are getting. (One odd thing in the description: "Rebuilt windshield washer motors." I'm pretty sure that Chrysler did not provide motorized windshield washers in 1937. Also, the pics show the car without wipers!)
  14. I don't know who holds the "webmaster" title, but did you try Peter Gariepy, petergariepy@gmail.com, 520-247-5918 @Peter Gariepy He's the forum administrator and moderator. Good luck.
  15. Off-topic suggestion: If the battery went flat in three weeks, you need a new battery.
  16. I also bit the bullet and had my wheel recast last year. I was very fortunate to find someone who did a fantastic job for only $500. I agree completely with John. It's not only "in your face" every time you get in the car, but it is literally the way you "connect" with your car. It adds so much to the experience of driving. I really like what you did with the leather, USNavy! Did you do it yourself? Such a nice job.
  17. This is a very rare and highly desirable car. However, it needs tons of work and many of the parts are going to be very hard or impossible to find. Like the dash plastic, for starters. Even with the seemingly low price, I fear this would be a "money pit" project. I had a friend back in the 90's who had one of these that he wanted to restore because his father had one when he was a kid. It was in much better shape than this one, but he was never able to get it done. For one thing, he could never get the power windows to work, despite investing many hours and many dollars. Anyone tempted by this should be very careful about what he's getting into!
