  1. Same as the one on display at my local bank, the one that crossed the Golden Gate Bridge on opening day.
  2. Bernie has owned some Austin 7. They are very common. Light car. Meaning like small lightweight. The Austin 7 is an economy car that was produced from 1923 until 1939 in the United Kingdom by Austin. ... Its effect on the British market was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the US, replacing most other British economy cars and cyclecars of the early 1920s. Engine: 747 cc straight-4 Wheelbase: 75 inches (1.905 m) Body style: 2-door tourer; 2-door saloon; 2-door .
  3. The Humber Super Snipe is a car which was produced from 1938 to 1967 by British-based Humber Limited. Humber is a well known manufacturer. There are some on this forum who own some. Bernie, and Mike Mccartney come to mind. Mike had a Humber cyclecar. But the Snipe is a Humber model, other than a cyclecar.

  10. Example of CycleCar, with two fan belts driving the rear wheels, and a two cylinder V-Twin engine. which could have 2 carburetors or one. ( Just to give an idea of what they look like ) I still think that Jitubi means the country in Africa only, and if someone decided to apply that name to a vehicle then who knows why...
  11. Here's a list of British Motorcycles, there's no Jibuti though. https://cybermotorcycle.com/euro/britain.htm
  12. Yes it sounds like he gave his vehicle the name Jitubi.
  13. Searching Jibuti does not turn up any car manufacturers or models.
  14. Djibouti was also called Jibuti in the past. So maybe he is referring to an offroad type vehicle like a Jeep or Landrover. In other words, maybe for him Jibuti was a generic way for him to refer to his offroad vehicle, a vehicle suited to use in Africa, his Jibuti.
  15. You should message Bernie Jacobsen on this forum as he knows the most about pre-war British cars. He uses the moniker "oldcar" on this forum.
  16. One of my neighbors, ha ha Classy presentation. Seller's Description Sunbeam Alpine · Convertible · Driven 30,000 miles Here she is a sunbeam alpine has a Toyota 20r in it now call me if interested
  17. They are supposed to print out your "verified address" as on file with PayPal, and use that. If they are a high volume seller they probably mix things up. In your case I don't know. If they are a very low volume seller and just look at their computer screen and hand write your address on the package there is huge room for error.
  18. I bought a set of bumpers, the seller sent it to the wrong person, someone who had bought something else from him. Seller stupidly said it was not his problem and he would not give me a refund, and didn't care if I filed a dispute seeking my money back. It ended up the honest recipient of them forwarded them to me. I think it was $175. The recipient could have just kept them, claiming they did not arrive or maybe got stolen off the porch or something.
  19. Wow I never would have found it. And it looks like people need to start using it more, get more events posted. I posted an event in the distant past, but the forum was very different then.
  20. Wow this thread was started 4 years ago? I don't remember it.
  21. I'm sure they handle fine around town going slow on flat ground, like say The Villages in Florida you could use one instead of a golf cart. Looks like the center of gravity is low.
  22. Got a new battery for this mothballed car and started it up. Then washed it. California Gold Mothers California Gold Wash And Wax | MTH 05674 | Qty: 1 64 ounce $4.99. Tried this for the first time, good product. Plenty more needs to be done to make this my regular daily driver vehicle. It has two fuel pumps, a low pressure in-tank "lift pump" and an external high pressure fuel injection pump. It has Bosch CIS continuous fuel injection like many Mercedes and others of the early 1980's. Will need a new CAT and be smog tested, leaking brake wheel cylinder, probably a new clutch.
  23. I think they made a really dumb looking convertible, very awkward. Hard top not so bad but it depended on what angle you were looking at it from.
  24. The test driver for Alfa Romeo would grip the steering wheel near the bottom, and they were laid out to his liking. So that supposedly explains why they are a long reach to the steering wheel, because if you try to grab the wheel near the top, like the 10 and 2 positions, that is further away. You should be grabbing the lower part of the wheel which is closer.
