  1. I just saw on my facebook feed an advertisement about the changing to a new style formula called CK-4 starting December 2016. Have you heard about this? I wonder if the Zinc content is going to be change?
  2. This is from the 1956 master parts book link that someone shared a week or two ago.
  3. This is the only page I have at work that shows that piece, the pic is for a '39
  4. Did aircraftspruce have anything available?
  5. wd40 and contact cleaner didn't work. I still have excellent power to the unit. I guess I am going to try and separate the housing pieces. Any one have any ideas on how?
  6. Good luck. Maybe they'll have some a little bigger.
  7. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/bowdencable.php Shows to be a 7/32 (.21875) outer diameter

  9. Thanks everyone. Gonna look at it over the weekend.
  10. Sounds like a good plan, Thankfully my shop has a "pit" in it so that'll help when unhooking the linkages. I have tried it not running and it still just runs through 2nd and 3rd. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and not much $.
  11. Thanks Matt, I will be checking it out over the long weekend. Are there any bushings in the shift column itself or are they all in the linkages and pivots? You mentioned Delrin and I have only seen rubber bushings but I have not looked in to the main shift column yet. Pete, I will check those but I have replaced those within the last year and I do not see much movement of the drive train when torqueing over.
  12. Backed my car out the other night to go for a cruise and sometime during the cruise I somehow no longer had reverse or first gear. It is a 3 speed manual on the column. It shifts great between second and third but I cannot seem to pull the lever towards me to access reverse and first. I'm very unfamiliar with how which linkage adjusts what. I have enclosed an illustration. Any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated
  13. thx for that link. Parts books do make many things easier.
  14. Have you Tried Kurt Kelsey? 641-648-9086 @Kornkurt

  17. Not sure if this will help but here is the factory part #.
  18. Silvette. Corvette with optional tow package.
  19. You might try http://www.riwire.com/ they have some neat stuff.
  20. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind but not wanting artilleries at the moment.
  21. Thanks Owen, with headlights on I have excellent power all the way to the lamp. But lose electricity somewhere in the socket housing. It is supposed to work on inclination of the lamp housing but I get zero volts at the bulb contact point in any trunk position. Once the lamp is removed I can use my test light and make the circuit sometimes by shaking the lamp.
  22. I believe this has the balls. I thought about spraying electrical contact cleaner in there but wasn't sure if it would mess things up. There appears to be a black insulator in there of some sorts, possibly bakelite?WD-40 might do it. Found the photo below that @Grandpa posted back in 2011.
  23. How does this come apart? The trunk light on my Pontiac will not light up with trunk lid up and the power on. With power going to it and the lamp removed I can shake it around and get the test light to come on briefly. I believe the contact balls inside are dirty but I am unsure how to get the assembly apart. Are the caps soldered on?
