I have a small lathe but it is down at the moment, need to order a few parts to get it fixed. Shop class would be neat. -

Xander I can possibly do that. The rivet that is left is pretty short at this point. Hoping to find the correct style rivet. -
Do you know anyone that sells rivet like these? It is for the upper pivot point at the trunk lid. The shaft is 5/16 the head is 1/2 inch and the length was probably 1/2 inch before flaring. Thank you, Allen

Was having weird taillamp stop lamp problems. checked all wires, replaced bulbs. It was a dual filament bulb and one of the contact tits had broken away from the bulb and was cuasing intermittent issues. -

Thanks Ric Dean. Looks like the used that emblem for many years. Now to figure out what all body styles it fit in 1941.

I'm sad to say I have a 1940 Pontiac that I'm slowly gathering parts for and just realized the trunk lid appears to be off an oldsmobile. Is this off a 1941 oldsmobile and if so What all models Oldsmobile did it fit? Is the center emblem a reoccurring motif in Oldsmobiles of these years?

I like the wheels. I imagine the black is water. They probably just washed the car and took the picture or just installed new tires.

2018 Jeep JL Wrangler. I think that is one of the earlier prototypes. The rearview mirror is attached to the windshield. Supposedly it will not be in production.

Good luck on your quest. It definitely appears they are much different in the way they mount. -
1940 Pontiac Horn not working. Need part
1940TORPEDO replied to 1940TORPEDO's topic in Pontiac & Oakland
I received the parts on Friday afternoon from Kurt and got them installed a few hours later. The Service and Parts manuals are not quite accurate in the pictures but it is working just fine now. -
1940 Pontiac Horn not working. Need part
1940TORPEDO replied to 1940TORPEDO's topic in Pontiac & Oakland
Hey Deac, Yes it appears the horn button crimps onto this piece. Kurt Kelsey was able to hook me up with a used one I am going to try and weld a new spring arm on this one when I get time and have it available for a spare if the need arises. It appears to be thin stainless so I'll leave the repair to an expert. -
Needing a part for my Horn to work properly again. Not sure what it is called, spring contact? I'll look in my parts books tonight. I don't see it listed in my service manual picture below. Anyone have one available? It is the standard steering wheel for a 1940 model 2927c. @Kornkurt anyone else? Thanks, Allen
