  3. Hey, it comes with studded tires and the seller wants us to know its been driven in snow...truth in advertising. Reupholstering the front seat with white vinyl shouldn't break the bank, and "installed a new sound system in the car so it has a Bluetooth stereo and two 8 inch speakers in the rear deck that are plenty loud." for those who like to drive that way.
  4. This '61 Newport sedan is one of those anomalies one runs across from those years: the entry-level model loaded with options. The Newport sedan was fob $2,964, to that was ordered: TorqueFlite: $227; air conditioning $510; power steering $108; power brakes: $44; heater: $102; radio: $100; tinted glass: $43. This from what is visible in the photos, prices quoted from The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975, 3rd Edition, Edited by John Gunnell. Nearly $4.100 without whatever other options were specified, destination and taxes, etc. Hope the original purchaser enjoyed it.
  5. Its a contorted logic, but if a vehicle looks too good for the asking price, some will think the reasonable price is because there are issues that are not obvious or disclosed. Otherwise, the seller would ask a higher price because there are no issues.
  6. No doubt there are, but they're big clunky sedan bodies which no body wants...or would choose to remount on a Stutz chassis...
  7. For Sale: 1966 Buick Skylark 4dr hardtop - $6,000 - Coeur D Alene, ID 1966 Buick Skylark - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive... (craigslist.org) Need to sell for college. This is probably one of the most reliable old cars on the market right now. I have driven it to school every single day for two years rain snow or shine. It may not be a collectors item but it sure gets looks downtown. I installed a new sound system in the car so it has a Bluetooth stereo and two 8 inch speakers in the rear deck that are plenty loud. Everything else is stock and has a 300 cubic inch wildcat motor and an automatic transmission. It doesn’t have AC but when all the windows are down and the vents are open, you can’t even tell. There is no B post so when the front and back windows are down, it’s one big window. The car will come with three studded tires and a spare non-studded tire, plus detachable soft racks to carry a paddle board or surfboard. The negatives are the front seats are slightly torn and the carpet is falling off the side doors (see pics). Also the rear drivers side door doesn’t lock. Overall this is a great car and I’m sad to see it go. 8. Now that everyone else has had their say, I'd say since the virginal originality of this Stutz M has long since vanished, time for a re-body! Retain radiator shell and radiator plus hood and firewall, give the current body to a deserving Armstrong-Siddeley or Humber Super Snipe. Then, since its RHD, build a Bentley Speed 6 style touring like this on the chassis and go driving it! Let the brickbats fly!
  9. You're welcome! For a realistic price in the $15K-$20K range in this condition, a Commander GH or the other models cited could be one heck of an enjoyable 1920's car to own for touring.
  10. For Sale: 1928 1/2 Studebaker Commander GH sedan - $57,000 - Orondo, WA Vintage 1928 Studebaker - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org) 1928 Studebaker Commander, 6 cylinder, completely restored. It comes with additional professionally rebuilt to like new condition, an extra engine, transmission, and rear end. Contact: Please call (509)-8-six-0-8-four-7-seven. Copy and paste in your email: I have no personal interest or stake in the eventual sale of this 1928 1/2 Studebaker Commander GH sedan. Note: Though optimistically priced, this posting is to make those seeking a late '20 car with capable performance potential aware of this model. Half way through the 1928 model year, Studebaker restyled the Commander GB to the LaSalle-inspired Commander Series GH. The chassis for both GB and GH were continuation of the Commander EW and President ES Big Six powered by the 354 cu.in. engine on the 120" & 121" wheelbase. The engine was a 'torque monster' in a relatively light chassis. For comparison, both the Packard and Lincoln eights had been 358 cu. iin. contemporary to the Big Six.

  17. For Sale: 1955 Studebaker Commander sedan - $6,500 - Worthington, OH 1955 Studebaker Commander - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org) 1955 Studebaker Commander 4 door. Very cool teal and white colors. Minimal rust for its age. Frame is solid. Odometer reads under 41,000 miles and title says this is correct. Car was reportedly stored by previous owner indoors for 30 years. 259 2 barrel V-8. Manual shift on the column 3 speed. 6 volt electrical system. Engine runs well and car drives, shifts and stops well. New battery, coil and points. Tires appear very old. I would not think they are safe. Heater works. Lighting all works. Car also has overdrive that I have not tested. A very good restoration car. Don’t let the pictures fool you. It does need some work to make it roadworthy in my opinion starting with tires and shocks. Parts seem pretty easy to get on eBay etc. Seems very original and unmolested. Contact: no phone listed. 18. For Sale: 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine - $30,000 - Mineola, NY 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine - cars & trucks - by... (craigslist.org) This is a limited production 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 limousine. This car is in fantastic condition for its age and is an example of an older restoration that is ready for minor touch ups to make it perfect again. Car runs and has been kept indoors and off the road since 1972! Make no mistake, this is a big car! The Fleetwood 75 is 20 feet long with a curb weight of 5,600 pounds! There is a bench seat in the front and plush interior with a bench seat in the back with pop up seats in between. The passengers are separated from the driver by an electric glass partition. No expense was spared at the time for these cars and has a separate climate control for passengers. The car is an older restoration with minor imperfections. There are minor scratches on the body that are not noticeable from 10 foot away. The muffler does need to be replaced. The car runs but needs some coaxing to get going. I am slowly but surely running the old gas out of the tank. Includes 5 original hubcaps, an extra painted rim, and miscellaneous parts. This is the perfect classic car for a limo and car service company looking for a new wedding coach! More pictures are available on request.Serious inquiries only. Note: This limousine is fitted with an opera light which was a custom from the pre-war days when custom coachbuilders offered it as an option in the color of the customer's choice so they could pick out their own limousine among other chauffeured limousines after the opera.
  19. Do you have any more photos with clearer details and from different angles. They might have been built on the truck chassis.
  20. When this Stutz SV-16 finally gets restored, bets are it magically becomes a convertible coupe...
