  1. Does anyone have a picture of an original Battery. Was it a group 24 or 27? Here is the one I bought from Antique Auto Battery in 2003. It was expensive but it’s lasted 11 seasons, still seems strong but I’m getting worried.
  2. Funny thing you mentioned the turbines, Kegart and I are parked next to each other. The Judge liked both Rivieras but Kegart had the Wire Covers(really shined). The judge picked Kegart because he liked the Wires better. Then Kegart disqualifies himself has he had won with his car before, therefore the judge tagged mine.
  3. Decided to use Vodka with blue food coloring!
  4. What color was the original washer fluid for 1st gen Buicks?
  5. Couple of issues with A6 compressor. The pulleys are about 1/4” larger, and electrical connectors are clocked in wrong position.
  6. I do not have vacuum to the STV in any position of the temperature control lever. I need to remove dash to access the control module. I hate doing that as the dash is original and very brittle.
  7. Compressor came with shipping oil. I drained and refilled with 10 1/2 oz of 525 mineral oil. Manual calls for that. My thinking, all new components and flushed I filled like new.
  8. I have cold air. Put it all back together and a friend hooked up his gauges and vacuum pump and brought system down to 30”. We let it set overnight and still at 30” the next day. Charged system with R12 until no foam or bubbles in sight glass. Temperature at center vent is varying between 34 and 39 not sure why, it was 72 ambient outside. Controls are set to recirculating. I have no vacuum to STV not sure why. STV with no vacuum would be full cooling. Service manual says I should get 37. 1. Had STV and filter/drier rebuilt at Original Air group in Tampa 2. New expansion valve from Old Air Products. 3. New Alma A6 compressor from OReilys. 4. SAE green O rings from classic Corvette. 5. Flushed evaporated and condenser. (Reinstalling air box and fitting rubber boot back on was tough).
  9. The repop stuff seems to be more abrasive than original, chaffing your nice new air cleaner Disc. Throw a towel over until your sure it doesn’t touch.
  10. You certainly would not want to ruin a sale-able trunk.
  11. Bill, I still need a clip for the “I” if you ever figure out a way to get one. Chuck
  12. I have four steel wheels w/ bias ply tires for sale red lines I think. If you’re interested in BCA 400 pt judging, you could use these. These are not suitable to drive on. I used these at South Bend 2013 switching tires on the show field. I could loan you hub caps if needed. $150 Fit 1966 Skylark
  13. Borrowed autozone’s flush kit and blew solvent thru condenser, lots of yellow fluid came out. Keep blowing for a long time till no moisture came. Also run solvent thru evaporator seemed to get more crud out of that then condenser I order a new expansion valve, it was different than the Frigidaire valve in that it had a coil of tubing for a sensor instead of a bulb. I decided to use the original one. Trying to but things back together now with rebuilt STV, new A6 compressor, and filter drier. Finding SAE AC o rings is a bit of a challenge. Thanks for all advise.
  14. I also encountered the black coated, fender wells, quarter well all underneath, I think it was for road noise but don’t know
  15. It can’t run out the bottom as inlet and outlet are both routed to top.
  16. Can the condenser be flushed in the car. I’m worried I won’t get all the solvent out of the bottom. I just have a small pancake compressor and it may not push all solvent out. The two bolts securing it at the bottom are giving me fits. Getting the bolts out may involve removing lower bumper or radiator.
  17. 1st clean connectors at Voltage regulator and alternator. Check belt tension with a gage. Then recheck.
  18. My 66 built 11-65 is crimped(original owner). All the 65 I’ve seen are the rebuildable style.
  19. Old air products list a couple of these switches for corvette and ford. Looks close
  20. I bought the color coded hose from Old Air Products. The color coding was so faded that I remarked them.
  21. Bill you don’t happen to have a Dip stick for our Dynaflow do you
  22. Bill did you check with riviera bob? He’s going to K zoo
  23. The number of mounting holes is different, unless you drilled extra holes to get more leg room. (As I did)
