To me the high oil pressure issue needs to be addressed. Follow Toms advise. It might take you longer then he says but the service manual is pretty clear.

Ed Is the lock washer shown in the parts manual? The lock washer could lose tension and the nut loosen due to high heat. Aircraft grade nuts are very hard preventing a lock washer from digging in.

I used a small cut off wheel and removed the flap and left the shaft

Well all I can say is mine had screws all the way around. The new clips I used had just a hole for a screw and no provision to slide on to a stud.

My 63 used screw. My 66 skylark had studs

If I remember right there’s a hole in clip for the screw. I’m thinking glass needs to be removed to replace.

How many miles/years will a battery last? What is battery replacement cost?

Most of the cars life I run a 3.90 gear. A while back I found a used 3.36 and had it installed. This gear has a high pitch sing and I want quiet. I know there are new after market gears available but I hear there not quiet ether. What are others experience with after market gears. It thinking it would be impossible to find a NOS set.
