spinney Hill the rod goes from top to bottom through the steering box and to the clum switch there is a felt seal or thick washer that seals oil from leaking out of the box if you either take it off or pull the rod out,,,,,,, I have found it not easy to thread the rod past the felt seal you tend to scrape some of the material out causing it to leak

I really want to thank every one for their posts but I am more confused now than I was before--------this is for a copper over asbestos gasket on a 4 cylinder flat head I was told by a friend to just soak it in water looking to do it the correct way so it does not leak when put back together

Can any one help ID this 2 10/16 diameter there is a delco remy stamp and a nubmer 14 6 cylinder thanks

I assume that using a copper head gasket some what crushes it when it is used and torque what is the best way to regain it's thickness so as to reuse it thanks BR

does any one have a 4 cylinder block------on the main shaft there is what is called starting jaw lockwasher it is under the starting jaw or what the crank goes in between the starting jaw and pulley---- it has a key that goes into the main shaft and is then crimped over the starting jaw keeping it from coming lose the one I have has the key worn off------------------thanks for your help

I have a PA never have a problem with batteries go to outlet only selling batteries truckers buy the 6 Volt and put two together to get 12 better cranking
