  1. You guys have fancy gages... Mine is just a wooden stick. I am saving up to get one of the Myers repro units.
  2. Thank Tony & Jim, I was thinking that with the locally sourced bodies that there might be a bit more flexibility in paint colors. I love that shot with the multi-hued touring cars lined up together.
  3. Very nice! The video will be so much better than Heraldo's foray into Capone's 'vault'...
  4. What a great collections of DBs! Some interesting colors too. Was there more than black originally available on the pre-mid-twenties cars?
  5. The wheels look great! I think you made the right call with re-galvanizing.
  6. I was doing some garage clean out today and decided I don't want/need to save this side splash shield. It's a driver's side and the top leg is almost non-existent. But the vertical leg might be of interest to someone trying to patch up a dented one. I can cut the ends off at whatever measurement needed. Free but for shipping.
  7. Looking really nice. I like the dark blue/black combo.
  8. I'm sure there will be some cries of "they're condoning street racing"... How un-PC of Dodge (not even a disclaimer). A great commercial though!
  9. There are some great early DB shots in here. http://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/cars-of-our-ancestors-our-family-legacy-in-car-pictures/#comment-245876
  10. I'm sure mine are plain old aluminum (which can take a nice polish with some rouge and a buffing wheel). I don't think it will devalue them unless you really went crazy with the abrasive and removed too much material.
  11. Congrats on the First Place! And good that the Avanti problem is just a dead battery.
  12. I understand the power calculation assuming 4 amp draw. My horn does seem to work fine with the 1 ohm, 1 watt resistor. Is this because duty cycle is very short (a short blast or two of horn)?
  13. I used a 1 ohm, 1 watt resistor I got at Radio Shack. My horn is a 6V Klaxon (not original but looks period correct).
  14. I was able to get one made with the help of forum member Platt-Deutsch. You should be able to do a search for some threads on the subject.
  15. That is great to have tracked that down.
  16. A little Avanti history here: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/10/02/last-studebaker-built-avanti-to-go-on-national-historic-vehicle-register/
  17. Is it really possible to downshift one of these? I can get clean up-shifts but just cannot seem to ever get downshift. Maybe I'm just not bringing up the revs enough...
  18. Thanks John. The L554 cherry red sure does look like it. Here is a side by side with a KMG painted with this color.
  19. It does indeed look great John. I like how the wood top irons show outside the top. An unusual and interesting feature. That burgundy looks really nice on the body too. I'm restoring a 1925 Dodge touring car and am trying to decide on a color for the body (with black fenders). Do you know the color code perchance?
  20. I didn't see the final price on there. What did it go for?
