  1. Just as a follow-up about signature/avatar photos. With this version of the forum software the image you want to use for your avatar/signature must be square before you upload the image. Rectangular images (such as a nice rectangular photo of a car) when uploaded will cropped to be square, and thus your avatar will be missing part of your original photo. The cropping tool does not allow you to stretch or squeeze a photo to then be used as your avatar. The software is expecting a square photo to be uploaded/used.
  2. Hi Scott: IE9 went end of support with Microsoft in January of this year. So while it will still work Microsoft will no longer publish fixes and updates for IE9, which will certainly create some website compatibility issues as time rolls along. But based on the three things you mentioned (Norton, IE9, and Win 7) there are a few things you can try. If you have not done so purge your cache in IE9 and then retry the forum. If this works great Try and run the AACA website with compatibility mode turned on. Make sure all Windows updates are current and all Norton updates are current Retry forum and see if it now works Disable Norton, open a new browser session, and then retry the website. If this works then something in Norton is blocking either IE9 or blocking features from the forum software Run IE9 without add-ons ( do start-->run-->and paste in the following “%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” -extoff If this works then you either have an IE add-on which is creating issues or you have some malware which might be causing issues. 3. Howard: When you upload a profile photo the last step in that process should be a screen similar to below which allows you to move the cropping lines (the light blue lines) to adjust your image. Any part of your image/photos outside of the light blue lines will be cropped. You can adjust the cropping area by dragging the cropping lines via the small boxes. - Bob
  4. MrEarl: There is no preview post in this latest version of the IPB software as the post editor is a true wysiwyg editor (thus you should see your post as it will actually look as you edit the post) - Bob
  5. Hi Curti: Here is the path I use to manage my photos: 1. click the drop-down next to your user name at the top of the forum page and select "Profile" 2. On the Profile page select the "Albums" tab 3. Select the Album you wish to edit (you may/can have more than one Album) 4. Once the Album opens click/open the photo you wish to view/edit 5. To edit/delete the photo click the "Manage Image" button drop-down which is towards the bottom of the page. Bob

  10. You need to add the site first by one of the methods I showed above before you can see the site in the Options-->Content-->Notifications/Choose options. Also be sure to determine which of the two scenarios above you see in your browser when you click the i button (as one sets the notification temporarily and the other sets the notification permanently). In addition if you purge your browser cache at any time and have the option for "site preference" checked then any saved website notification settings you had previously set will be erased. - Bob
  11. That should be fine for accessing the forum. Did you try emptying the cache for IE? In IE do Tools-->Delete Browsing History (make sure all options are selected). - Bob
  12. Howard: What internet browser are you using? I ask because if you are using the new "EDGE" browser which is part of Windows 10 this could create some issues.
  13. From where are you trying to access your images or links (a post, your account attachments, gallery)? - Bob
  14. Scott, I like to read threads and posts in the same manner you do by right clicking a post and opening in a new tab. I am still able to do this with the new forum software. I tried opening a link in a new tab with the current versions of IE11, Firefox, and Chrome and was able to do so with each browser. What do you get, or not get, when you right click a post URL? - Bob
  15. AdChi see my post on the first page of this topic for a way to see all your posts.
  16. Ed, You are correct that you can not make shortcuts with the Windows 10 EDGE browser. Open IE11 (which is still part of Windows 10) as I listed above and try creating a shortcut from IE11. - Bob
  17. Hi Ed, I know you said you are using Windows 10. Are you using Edge or the "old IE11? The EDGE browser does not have a method yet to allow creating desktop shortcuts. Try creating a shortcut from desktop IE. You can find this by typing internet explorer in the search box in the bottom left of your screen. Once you start typing internet explored you should see and icon/line at the top of the search result for Internet Explorer Desktop App. Right click this icon/line and select "Pin to taskbar" The "old" IE11 will then be the light blue "e" in your taskbar.
  18. Hi Ed, I log into the forum in a manner similar to how you describe and had to create a new desktop shortcut. I created had to create a new shortcut to a particular sub-forum page. The new shortcut opens the correct sub-forum page. Then if I log into the forum and elect the option to "Remember Me" I can then just close the browser and then click the new shortcut again and I am taken to the sub-forum page already logged in. If you manually log out of the forum or clear your browser cache then you would need to log into the forum again after clicking the new shortcut. I was able to get new shortcuts working with IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. - Bob
  19. I can still see that all of the photos which I uploaded as posts are still attached to my forum account. You should be able to see all of the photos which you uploaded as attachments by: clicking the drop-down arrow next to your avatar/name at the top of the forum page and then selection the option for "My Attachments"
  20. You can find all of the topics and post you have created by accessing your profile. Select your profile by clicking the drop down arrow next to your avatar/user name at the top of the forum page. Once on your profile page select the "See my activity" button and you will then be able see all your related posts and topics. - Bob
  21. John: I help some other forums which utilize this latest version of IP Boards, and one of the many changes in the latest version is how avatars are handled. At a board level avatars can be set to square or round, but rectangular avatars are no longer supported (as these rectangular avatars often conflict with custom themes used by many IP Board forums). I find a 250X250 jpg/png file with your desired image centered within the 250X250 space works well with the cropping which occurs when you upload the image to your profile. - Bob
  22. John, you may want to check the Chrome did not save a password for the site. Check under Settings-->Show Advanced Settings-->Passwords and Forms. From here you can see if Chrome saved a password for the forum.
  23. This is most likely related to a cookie from the forum software being saved to your local drive. Based on which browser you are using you can demonstrate this by logging into the forum, close your browser without logging out of the forum, and then re-open your browser to the forum and you should be still be logged into the forum. This is because the forum software is able to match the local cookie it placed on your local drive and thus create a "private" key to then open the forum with you logged in automatically. To not have this happen, with most browsers you have to either make sure to manually log out of the forum or to clear the cache and cookies for your browser each time you close the browser.
  24. Click the Notifications icon in the header of the forum When the dialog box opens click Options When the My Settings pages opens click the My Notifications option (which is the last option in the left hand list) When your Notification page opens you can then select (either individually or in bulk) the messages you would like to delete (the delete button will be at the bottom of the page) Bob
