  1. Jeff, I will contact them too to learn more about their product. Hopefully they are producing the actual covers to replace the originals and will inquire about the 82 color/style as well.
  2. Jan, I have radials on my 63 and run 32psi.
  3. John, were you able to pick up the parts car?
  4. Jan, Mine is pictured in this month's Riview under members showcase. As Ed stated, using the positioning tabs, that is how mine is oriented, which I believe is correct.
  5. John, I reached out to two of my sources. One said they have a good rear section for your car at a Mega U Pull it in El Paso. Their phone # is (915) 855-0463. Don't know if they will cut it out for you or not. I am waiting to hear back from the other source. Will keep you posted when I hear. Regards,
  6. John, How hard was it to remove the dash pad?
  7. John, A lot of work to do but I'm sure it will be spectacular when you get it finished. Makes me wish I had the time to do the body and paint on mine, it could use that kind of going over too to make it mint. Anything we can do to help you get it back together in time for Colorado, let us know!
  8. I also struggle with the back end design, not sure what they were trying to do there. The rest of it looks really well done.
  9. Your welcome Jayson. Also, Convertible Top Specialists has the rear quarter window seals for the convertibles. They are in FL and can be reached at (800) 272-2394.
  10. John, Metro part #LM18Q door weatherstrip seals are available from Rock Auto for our cars. The door weatherstrip is the same for coupes and convertibles. For the window weatherstrips, check with hydroelectric at 800 343-4261. That would be one of the most likely places to have them. Regards, Darrell

    Electric Fan

Gerard, I have a 63 with the steel fan and original Harrison tanks with a new core section. I put the thickest core I could find in there. (4 row). It has never overheated on me but it will get up to 225 eventually if I'm sitting in traffic long enough.
  12. Macc, Your brakes should engage very quickly and the pedal should not drop halfway down before stopping the car if everything is functioning properly. Since you already removed the air out of the lines and adjusted the brake linings, my next item to check would be to see if the booster is holding vacuum and if the M/C is functioning properly. Also, make sure the brake stop switch on the front of the master is in there good and tight.
  13. You're correct Dave, the engine should be Silver. That original Silver paint never held up well and usually wore off pretty fast. I had to repaint mine back in the early 80's as most of the original paint was long gone, and that was on a low mileage original garaged car. Since it was a one year engine color for the Riv, many people painted them green since they didn't know any better. As Dick already stated, definitely check the VIN number on the engine to make sure it is the original motor.
  14. Jan, Mine is original and is vinyl covered. Pretty sure the material graining matches the door and sail panels. Car is in storage and not at my house right now so I can't take a picture until maybe next week. If you need it, just let me know. Regards,
  15. x2 Mine has been in the family since new and those are the same exact ones I have on my 63. I don't know if someone is reproducing them, but I will look in some of the catalogs I have to see if I can find them.
  16. Wow, you would never expect that too happen. Glad no one was hurt.

    401 engine oil

I have 89k on mine and have been using conventional 10W40 with ZDDP additive. Have used the same weight oil since 1982. Only added the ZDDP a few years ago when they lowered the zinc content. Motor is still original and still going.
  18. Jason, Well at this point I hope to drive it, it depends on a few things with our work schedules. Hope to get that figured out within the next couple months. Just wanted to see if anyone else was thinking of driving from the general area and was interested in heading down the road together. I will check to see if Ray can still put that in the next issue. Thanks!
  19. Hey all. Just wanted to see how many of us were thinking of doing the road trip from the Northeast to the ROA meet this year. At the moment, I am planning on driving my 85. Anyone interested in doing a Riviera caravan?
  20. That is one of the many great things about being in the ROA! Been there myself since 1987.
  21. Kind of late to your thread Steele, but I agree as well, I would definitely fix what you can, save the 5k and just enjoy it!
  22. Cool, thanks for sharing. Nice to see a Riv gettin' some attention.
  23. Try Auto Custom Carpet in Anniston, AL. I've bought carpeting for 60's and 70's cars from them and have been happy with the quality. They will send out free samples as well, or at least they did the last time I used them.
