  1. Well, good luck in selling it. Pretty much narrowed down the amount of people who would be interested in buying it.
  2. Kaber - the interior turned out great. I've done a few interiors too and can respect and appreciate the work that goes into a project like that.
  3. I have a four post lift too, and it is the safest and most stable way to lift our x-frames. I have a center beam in my ceiling where I can hook up a pulley system to lift a body off of the frame. I recommend backyard buddy too. Great product and many helpful accessories.
  4. Here's a pic of the silver paint on my engine. I had bought Silver paint from CARS about 10 years ago it is was basically aluminum paint and was too bright. Don't know if they have a closer match now. I experimented with a few paints and then settled on this as the closest I could find. It is an Eastwood paint for Rally wheels. I have Calyx on my exhaust manifolds too. Stuff works great but I do need to touch it up every 2-3 years.
  5. I had my dynaflow resealed about 15 years ago. While they were in there, they had to replace a couple of broken sprags. Probably from my L to D shifts when I was racing it as a teenager, LOL. Lesson learned.
  6. Lots of great stories about Leonard. He helped me with some very thorough technical advice back in the late 80's and gave that same devotion to others in the club as well. A class act that will be missed.
  7. I agree with Marty. I have a 63 and replaced the original shocks with Gabriel gas shocks and it did not change the ride height. It did make the ride more controlled with less rebound, but that was the only difference.
  8. Welcome! Really nice car, congrats.
  9. Welcome to the ROA and the forum. When you get The Riview, you'll see many members write up stories about their cars in the Members Showcase section. I would encourage you to do one on your new ride in the near future.
  10. I agree with Winston. Change out the wires.
  11. White walls or Red lines really look good on our classy Riv's. I have nothing against white letter tires but they look better on muscle cars IMO.
  12. I agree. I have 4 right now and most people I know have more that 1 as well. 2 of the 4 I have had for 20+ years so I am not a flipper either. As far as trouble selling cars, I believe it mostly depends on what it is. If its not some highly desirable 60's-70's muscle or pony car, the market is much smaller, interest level is small and the prices reflect it. I can show up at some local cruise in with one of my Rivieras and they do not get anywhere near the attention a muscle car gets. (I'm not complaining, just my observation.)

Yes being on the younger side here too, 41, I can understand the point of the thread. There are still a few of us into older muscle and we are trying to pass on our passion to the next generation. So far my son, 7, is very interested in older cars. I make it a point to bring him to car shows, tell him which model is which and why some are very special. It's amazing how fast he is picking it up. I hope he sticks with it, we need it for our hobby's future.
  14. Thanks for posting this information. I will try to get this into the next Riview to let other members know as well.
  15. Looks really nice Tim. I would like to get one like yours but I need to sell something first. Good luck in selling it.
  16. Jan, I had the same done to my 63 two years ago. It works very well, can't say how much more coolant capacity it has now compared to before. Also, I clean the bugs and dirt out of mine with a very soft long haired brush and compressed air.
  17. John, How's the progress coming along? Hope you're able to get it done in time for the meet. Regards,
  18. Mine is all original and has the single bulb. Date code is 02B.

    big day

Nice story Bob. Hope your next time out of the garage is a winner.
  20. I have 225/70 Cooper Trendsetters with a 3/4 inch whitewall on my 85. Just bought them last year and assume they are still available. I like the bigger optional size tire for better handling and its larger contact patch. Also, I feel that they proportionally fill the fender wells better.
  21. Jan, Looks great, nice work. Great idea on the hood emblem too. Doesn't even look modified at all in your picture.
  22. I took my grinding wheel with a fine sanding disk and cleaned both mating surfaces. No leaks since.
