  1. Muggy weld does work but the pros prefer to lay in lead on top of copper....pit by pit by pit. Either way it is not easy....... That being said, Muggy Weld has its place. I have used it myself but lack the technique to be good at making it a viable alternative to pot metal restoration.
  2. I have played with the process and it is very technique dependent... "Muggy Weld" does work but requires extreme attention to the degrease part of the equation and removing the depths of each and every pit that is in the part. I plan on working at it some more but will likely pay to have a pro do my parts.
  3. When my block was "Boiled" I did not see what was done, but I did see what was left and that was bare cast metal! I was very impressed with what I saw...looked like a new casting.
  4. Spoken like a true 54 Buick cool-aid drinker..... 1954 Buick...cures what ails ya
  5. Quite the Frankenstein....it only starts with the Buick teeth. The wires are scary, no gauges...except the loose ones on the floor and a modern radio. Also some water damage on the bottom of the back seat...I wonder what is under that carpet? I think the buyer that backed out just came to his senses.
  6. So do you just try and sand the inside by hand the best you can and then cover the rest? Mine has some of that tar stuff that glued the sound pad in there. Also what are the plans for the sound insulation?
  7. Ahh yes the expected plot change.....nice! ...........btw, nice to see some grass. It's been a while for me.
  8. Great work Brian..... There will be a large 54 crowd there for sure...not all with our cars unfortunately. Still working on getting those 54-54's  <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5AVKRTX0UK8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  9. Geeze, was that you that robbed the Bank here recently? Please show us some of that bling as it arrives...I will never tire of those pics.
  10. Ahh yes my favorite program is back on with new episodes! I'm going to go back from the start and enjoy the show marathon to get caught up again....I can't wait until the engine episodes come up again! ......I need me some popcorn!
  11. Without belaboring the issue I suggest you check out these threads: AACA Forums - Search Results There is a lot more to the issue than you may have thought of and most of these threads list them out.
  12. I have to say notwithstanding the "True X" debate I am enjoying the images posted of the different frames out there. To me a book/discussion about frame design in general is in order with a predominant chapter on the X Frames and their variants. ...just my $.02
  13. Ten minutes down the road for me....still open! Port Elmsley Drive-In Theatre Photo Gallery They have special nights for "classic" cars.
  14. Geeze..missed this thread, another nice project by "Mr Buick Motorama" Nice, look forward to this one as well!
  15. Thanks for the heads up...thought I'd hit here first as I am already registered. If I do find a source I will post it here for future searches.
  16. I'm trying to help out a co-worker who is not that good on a computer.... He is looking for 2 RT's and 2 LT's, they have the 4 bolt mount on them. I looked around and can find repops for Tudor and Coupe but the Fordor ones are hard to find. Any guidance? He is going to try and re-manufacture the main gear that is missing the teeth but I thought I'd check here for him. Thanks
  17. That was a very impressive demonstration... Makes me want to tackle my 54 Dynaflow. Thank you for taking the time to record that and share it.
  18. vBulletin 3.8.6 (current software used here) does/should have IP banning ability
  19. Without knowing the ips used have you tried to ban the entire subnet used by this spammer? For example if his ip was: 64.92.123.001 Ban anyone using 64.92.123.001 through 192.168.123.255 ...are the IP's used random or from the same node? These are likely auto bot spam scripts that keep hammering away and not an individual.
  20. One spray lube product that is no mystery...Fluid Film. It is a life saver for Sewage plants, keeps chains and gears from corrosion....made from Wool Wax! Great stuff and you can use it to wax the car as well as it contains no solvents. Crazy expensive though....
  21. I guess this goes under the "good problems" column eh? Sounds like this will be a very well attended National, very excited as it will be my first.
  22. Geeze I hope we didn't get the same room???? heheheheh Exact same thing for me, said something like its a larger room and its worth it.
  23. We kinda had a run on booking some of the rooms over at 54Buick and now I believe there are no more BCA Rate rooms left for the Friday?
  24. Best go back and check that pump.... How about the fuel feed line, I forget if you mentioned if it is new or not....maybe a blockage or even a pin hole in the suction line/fittings? Maybe try bypassing the tank altogether and run the suction into a portable can of gas.
