Missedc a 1956 Belvedere convertible by two hours today on EBAY. Instead of immediately clicking Buy It Now, I waited to hear from credit union to make sure funds were available. Oh well, anyone know of one in any shape? I would like to buy more realistically about year and a half from now. stan - southern illinois

  8. My dad bought a homemade small trailer in the late '70's, has a solid axle under it (automotive) with Chrysler hubcaps, I need to replace the bigger bearing, it is a Timken tapered roller bearing. The only number I can make out is 14230 (cup is 14274). Local parts house can get the cup but not the cone -14230. Anyone have a lead? (Old parts book to them is from the 1970's).

  12. Old store where I buy car parts is due to be demolished for new building. I had to get a picture of their freight lift (elevator) as I know it won't be used again. An old electric motor going into an old truck transmission is the backbone of the unit (homemade and handy). See if you can make sense of the pic.

  16. Not a historian, but I think Chevrolet and Plymouth had warmed over models in 1952, Ford alone introduced a new body shell? If so, does anyone have units sold or market share percentages of the two years? Wonder if Ford's new model attracted new buyers. thanks, stan
