  1. 1938RC, did you actually inspect this car, and pass on it? If so, please be so kind as to give me your impressions of the car and why you did not buy at the asked price. thanks, stan
  2. The transmission won't shift into high. Will I need to find a speciality shop or can the average transmission shop handle this?
  3. Someone with a Nash for sale on EBay included for some reaseon this photo with those of his cars. Seemed very interesting to me. Fort Ransom, ND
  4. 1957 Buick Special convertible, 1963 Olds Starfire convertible, didn't sell them, my dad did when I was in the navy.
  5. Like several others, born at home. As an aside, what was the latest anyone was born at home? Me, 1948.
  6. 1951 Nash - I am talking to a seller. I am not familiar with this style auto, I certainly am no mechanic. He said the motor at one time had partially fallen out, and a welder installed a new "third member". Better than new supposedly. Here's the question: the welder had said the rear end (not the rear axle, but the rear part of the uni-body) was going to need attention next. Is this a situation that a general welder could address, or a body shop/frame shop would need to fix? Thanks for any advice.
  7. Thanks Pete, I am also wowed by that bathtub look of the early 50's Nash, know of one that will require a lot of new window glass. Know of source for the rubber seals? tks in advance. I hated that so called bathtub look when I was in high school, must be four decades of living since then that gives new perspective.
  8. Previously I was into late 40's to mid 50's Mopar wagons, retired, got sick, sold all, Well cancer didn't get me and I've got a little more money now. For some reason I am interested in 59 - 60 Rambler Americans, looking for sedan or wagon. Are there a lot of parts, I realize probably not as many as I am used to seeing for other makes. Would anyone have rear end for automatic trans. set-up?
  9. Thata's the one. Sounds like it is very common. Oh well, I'll keep it as a momento of the good old days. thanks
  10. thanks everyone. From this I take that the term was used exclusively by Buick, and that it has been affixed to many models/years. My first driver was Dad's 1954 Super 2 dr. hdtp,, then his 1954 Century 4 dr, my first car was a 1957 Special convertible. tks again.
  11. Were all estate wagons GM? Were any actually badged as "Estate Wagon" ?
  12. Very well may be the same as on all the other models of that year, but I have one if you need it. All that's left on the ragtop I bought in 1967.
  13. HAve sheet metal, identified in the "what is it" forum as 1933 ford, hood parts. Photos are on that forum. Anyone need? riverslim48@yahoo.com
  14. Appreciate the help/knowledge, Parts now in buy/sell forum. thanks stan
  15. After twenty active years I am exiting old car hobby, two cancer scares and early retirement has contributed to that forced decision. I have sold all, but I recently found in an old grain bin (used for storage at boyhood family farm) two hood pieces; I have no idea what the make/year is. My dad bought the farm in 1946, as a boy in the 50's, I remember an old rusty car sitting in a ravine. Evidently I or one of my brothers deemed these pieces relatively good, and salvaged them, probably in the early 60's. One is half a hood top and the louvered side panel. I know how to attach photos at EBay but I can't figure out how to at this site, and I probably won't need to again. So, I wonder if anyone wanting to try to identify would email me separately at riverslim48@yahoo.com so I can send the image to you. The piecdes are probably mid 1930's era. thanks, stan
