Vintage Fire Trucks
Hi all; I had posted earlier in the technical forum and it was suggested I post here. I got the assistance I needed to move forward but am looking for some assistance in determining the year of the engine. Here is a link to the previous post. https://forums.aaca.org/topic/416194-1924-buick-master-6-intakeexhaust/#comment-2685196 It is in a 1928 American Lafrance Fire Ladder Truck later factory converted to a pumper. I was told it was a 1924 engine but that is clearly not the case. I am attaching some photos of the engine and the engine tag which is hard to read but the number is 20030569. The truck is in the shop so I do not have photos of the exhaust and intake but the exhaust is not square as the 24 is. Any assistance as to nailing down the year of the engine would be appreciated so we can update our records. Also, any sources of information on this engine would be most sincerely appreciated. Finally, a photo of the truck in the shop. It belongs to the Bytowne Fire Brigade Historical Society in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. https://www.bytownfire.ca/ Sorry the engine cowling is off. Thanks, Gary Housch
Roger Barrett
V belt pulley indicates 1928 Master six. Makes sense if the truck is that year.

1939_Buick
20030569 would put it at 1928. From BCA judging manual
raydurr
Has a crank pulley with a wider belt groove like Buick powered GMC trucks used. Edited July 12 by raydurr (see edit history)
