A friend of my parents bought a new 1977 Lincoln Town Car; he had wanted black, but the dealer advised him that at trade-in time, only funeral homes would likely be interested. Decreased a bit each year of the smog era. 400 hp was in 1970 only with 10 to 1 compression. It was closer to 8 to 1 by 1972.
