John_S_in_Penna
With its past Senior First Place award from 1996 and its still-excellent condition, I could see someone stretching to $25,000 for this car. Maybe $20,000 is the top, though. It looks very appealing, but not at any price. What do others think?
NC-car-guy
I guess they are banking on #1 condition? How far from #1 is this car?
B Jake Moran
I’m not ever too sure about price guides. It might get to $35,000 if the buyer has truly disposable income and wants a turn key show winner then that is your market.
suchan
Looks like a #2, maybe 2-minus, to me. It'd be awesome in black. Going by the Hagerty guide, for whatever guides are worth, $25-30K? Good-looking four door.
Centurion
I am aware of two private sales of 1959 Electra 225 4-door hardtops that have exceeded the asking price here -- one at $45K and the other at $50K. This car is finished in a very desirable color scheme, and I personally think that the price is not unrealistic for a motivated buyer. That being said, a sale in the $30 - $35K range is probably more likely.
John2012
I am a believer that you have to see the car to determine condition especially in the driver-plus pool. Yes, pictures provide a good indicator for the undercarriage etc, but not the true quality of the paint and chrome. The price will be determined by who really wants the car. For low volume cars, I am sure you can find wide variations on what the car sold for and Hagerty's guide.
