Dave_B
Hello all, I'm looking for a shop that will pour new babbitt bearings on the con rods for my four cylinder Ford Y. The babbitt metal is coming off in chunks. It's a small car with a tiny engine, 933cc. The crank journals are nominally 1.499". (I told you it was small, ha!) These have a little wear on them so about 15 thou less. As I said I'm looking a shop that can do this job. Thanks, Dave
Mike "Hubbie" Stearns
Location would help. Mike
Dave_B
I'm in Silver Spring Maryland, but I don't want to be limited by that. I can send the parts anywhere in the lower 48. Dave

Larry Schramm
Go to Hart's Machine Shop in Cecil, Oh. John there is very good and has a good staff. He has done several engines for me with babbit bearings.

Mike J and M Machine is in Massachusetts, not in Maryland, unless there is another that i am not aware of. JB's Auto Machine in Rosedale Maryland does antique engines, but they send their Babbit work out. www.jbsautomachine.com

BlueDevil
I have been told JB Machine In Baltimore converts Chrysler babbit bearing to inserts. I was told it was about $3K for a late '20's 6. They might do other ones. Bill
BlueDevil
I would give Hart's a plug also. They did my Pierce rods and a main on my Packard 12. Reasonable price and fairly quick turnaround.
