jrpa
Hi All, hoping for some help identifying the model of my great-grandfather's Pierce Arrow. In his will it's listed as a 1931 Pierce arrow sedan with chassis #2503096 and engine #203164. He died the following year in 1932. Photo of my great uncle standing on what I believe to be the car in question. Appreciate any help.
Matt Harwood
That's a 35-36 Auburn.
alsancle
Those look like Pierce Arrow Model 42 numbers but as Matt said the picture is of an Auburn. The Model 42 was the production body on the best chassis Pierce had that year.

The smallest Pierce for this year. 1

Mark Wetherbee
Going through the PAS identification guide, the car was made late in 1930 and was likely titled as a 31 by the state DMV because of the purchase date. This was common at the time… so the car should be listed as a 1930 Model B with the longer wheelbase (139”) which was the mid-range model for Pierce. Interestingly it was within 20 cars of the last one noted as being completed in 1930. Your great grandfather's car is not listed in the club’s directory, and while it is possible that it does exist you would have a hard time finding it.
