1950 Buick dash lights

Hello. Does anyone know what led bulbs will fit in the gauge sockets. The factory bulbs are dim to me. Looking for something brighter to see better at night.  Thanks. Nick

Are they turned all the way up? Control by turning the light switch knob. If so,and they are still dim, could be a bad ground or bad connection.

 

I find it better to keep dash lights low or off at night. I see better thru the windshield if there is no light on in the car.

They are working like they should. Just looking to see the needles better. Maybe I'm too used to newer cars haha.

The paint on the needles loses it's reflective properties over time.

Re-painting the needles might also help.

maybe the present bulbs have silvered inside. only way to fix that is to replace them. 

 

I have not looked into what LED bulbs are available that would be a direct replacement.

I found some LEDs to fit the original dash sockets in one of my Chryslers but didn't like them.

Those bulbs didn't radiate the light very well so were dim.

They also didn't respond to the dimming feature on the light switch, they just stayed the same brightness until they went off.
